Even though I don't like seeing Bitcin regarded as cryto because many people have been scammed using crypto and outting Bitcoin there makes it look like Bitcoin ie just one of them which is very wrong. The name of Bitcoin is big enough to be used alone and a single coin that needs nothing to validate it.
But Bitcoin is still crypto, right? I like to put it this way: Bitcoin is the original cryptocurrency, while altcoins are the photocopies of it. Altcoins have been used to scam people through failed projects and whatever means necessary, but Bitcoin has also been used by scammers to scam their victims.
The tech itself is not a scam, but it has been used by scammers as a payment method to scam people, just as fiat is not also excluded. We just have to know the difference between what’s a scam, a tool used for a scam, and what scammers can use. as tool to extort their victims.
