And when you ask them the vice versa, they're going to say that it is Bitcoin.
I seem to agree with you more on this but however, bitcoin enthusiast would never agree to this terms however trying to differentiate them based on believes and how they work but in simple terms we can’t put a different, bitcoin is just one crypto but that is far above every other thing that is created under the name crypto. But we can’t say it’s not crypto, crypto is scam in altcoins but bitcoin as a crypto is not a scam.

Every beginner should read this carefully. If you do not understand the difference between Bitcoin and crypto, there is a high chance you will lose money.Crypto is mostly a scam.
As much as I find it reasonable to create the right difference between crypto and bitcoin so as to paint the right narrative around it, putting out an headline that suggest that crypto is a scam still doesn't give the right idea of what crypto actually is about and it's not even through that crypto is actually a scam. Bitcoin being the first digital currency that came about before any other thing under the category of crypto came into existence is on a world of it own but at the same time, you can't completely define it and isolate the word cryptocurrency from it. In it ideal form, we're supposed to have bitcoin and alternative to bitcoin but we have bitcoin and alternative to crypto so it still makes it look like bitcoin is still crypto in disguise. You can educate newbies on the silient difference between both but you can't completely tell that crypto is a scam and not accept the fact that you're also calling bitcoin a scam in some way. Let us be Pacific what we are saying Category not all crypto is a scam I understand the fact that many crypto have spoiled some crypto there reputation, that is why dey are saying is scam there is some crypto are legit : ethereum is on of the biggest cryptocurrency full with programming platform, not just digital money. This mentality we are having this world scam: have put May of our people in life time poverty some miss live time opportunity simple because this world scam, in the first place nobody believe in Bitcoin but now Bitcoin is the best now, and one Bitcoin can change your life currently now, Many are cry right now because there friends deceive them, and now dey are regretting.

Cryptocurrency is just a general term to describe all digital currency, Bitcoin included but any other coins apart from bitcoin are alternative, that’s why they are called altcoins, Bitcoin is actually the main deal so don’t confuse bitcoin with the others (alternative coins ).
Many projects owners are usually fond of calling their project the next bitcoin , which is the first thing that will tell you that the project is shitty , bitcoin is Bitcoin there’s no shitcoins or any digital coins that can belike bitcoin there’s a reason why it’s the first digital currency.

It is due to a lack of knowledge that some set people doesn't have which they can't differentiate between Bitcoin and altcoins is what do led many of them to invest in altcoins instead of Bitcoin. Most newbies believe that Bitcoin and altcoins are the same, and that is another reason why they like investing in new projects, thinking they will grow the same way Bitcoin has grown over time. This mindset easily drives many beginners away from Bitcoin because they know nothing about the risks associated with altcoins. As time goes on and they begin to understand the cryptocurrency industry better, they become able to differentiate between Bitcoin and altcoins. That is when they usually realize they made mistakes in the past. In fact, I once saw someone complaining that cryptocurrency is a scam because he lost money. When I tried to educate him about Bitcoin and explain the difference between Bitcoin and altcoins, the person kept insisting that they are all the same.

Bitcoin is not crypto. Crypto is an industry built around tokens, founders, marketing, and insider allocations. Bitcoin is a decentralized form of money with fixed supply, proof-of-work, and no central authority. Calling Bitcoin “crypto” only helps shitcoin promoters confuse beginners and make their projects look more legitimate than they really are.
You are completely wrong on what you just said above. Because Bitcoin is actually a cryptocurrency, and infact, it is the first cryptocurrency to ever exist. Because the word cryptocurrency is used to refer all digital that is secured by cryptography, whose transactions are independent of its own, recorded on the blockchain, and used for peer-to-peer, which no government or central bank has no control over it. And Bitcoin Is one of the cryptocurrencies that we have, the strongest and the one with the highest market capitalization among them all, which was created by an anonymous fellow Satoshi Nakamoto in 2009. While we also have the word "Altcoins" which means alternative cryptocurrencies that are not Bitcoin e g Ethereum, Ripple and Solana.

All cryptocurrencies use cryptography, and its purpose is to secure or protect information from manipulation, and maintain confidentiality. So, I think all cryptocurrencies (as long as they use cryptography) can be called "crypto".
By the way, the word "crypto" comes from the Greek word "kryptos"; meaning secret ,or hidden, and the word "graph" comes from "graphia"; meaning art. So, I assume cryptography can be described as "the art of concealment" or "the technique of concealment". Maybe, "the art of hiding messages, or information" can be used when talking about cryptocurrency. Well, you will find slightly different information online, but that is what I understand from my college studies. Cmiiw.
I understand the OP intention, is to differentiate between shitcoins and Bitcoin, but we can't ignore the facts. We need to share this information with newbies, or beginners so they understand.

I think that at this point where the knowledge of bitcoin has spread worldwide, some truths are certain that many people can in my estimation distinguish bitcoin from other cryptocurrencies and may use crypto to refer to Bitcoin interchangeably but they certainly know the distinction. Second is that they know this because it is easier to get into other cryptocurrencies than bitcoin.

Every beginner should read this carefully. If you do not understand the difference between Bitcoin and crypto, there is a high chance you will lose money.Crypto is mostly a scam.
Crypto founders take advantage of beginners who do not fully understand what Bitcoin really is or how it works. They use that lack of knowledge to create their own shitcoins and promote them as “better Bitcoin,” “faster Bitcoin,” “more private Bitcoin,“Bitcoin that transfers fiat coins”” or “Bitcoin with smart contracts.”
The scam is usually very simple. Crypto founders create a new token, keep a huge part of the supply for themselves, their company, or their foundation, and then sell the story to beginners who do not yet understand what Bitcoin really is or why it matters.
This happened to me when I was new in the industry... somewhere 2021. My saviour was the fact that I already knew this forum before going to their meet up. They called it "bitcoin meet up". So, as someone who knows about bitcoin and belonged to the forum created by Satoshi himself, I was eager to attend the meeting up. So, I attended and expected to hear technical things about bitcoin, but I was disappointed when one person just came on stage, talked some basic things about bitcoin and immediately switched to promoting their shitcoins. I was disappointed and I left.
Those arguing with Op that bitcoin is crypto. Op wasn't just literal, he passed a message in the real context. Stop understanding it verbatim.

Bitcoin is a King in cryptocurrency and blockchain industry so whenever people want to shill their projects, they will start with Bitcoin, like how Bitcoin was created, how successful Bitcoin has been so far, and how their projects are Bitcoin killers, then they will use another thing like Bitcoin Pizza to make people have fear of missing out, and try to buy shitcoins as soon as possible for future profit. Similarly with altcoins like Bitcoin forks, it's hard to convince people buying such shitcoins, so they use "Bitcoin forks" term to attract people to their low value projects.

Bitcoin can be considered a cryptocurrency, but when we say "crypto" in general, we mean all other altcoins unrelated to Bitcoin. These can be scam coins, meme coins, and many other types of coins that carry much higher risks. That's why when referring to "Bitcoin," we need to be clearer by simply saying Bitcoin. Mixing it with "crypto" can be inaccurate and potentially misleading.

Yes... BTC and altcoins are both part of the crypto world, but the difference is that BTC is the world's first cryptocurrency even the most important. It has a maximum supply, while altcoins vary some even having an unlimited supply. In other words altcoins are alternative coins to Bitcoin. The two also differ in various aspects, one of which is that Bitcoin is the King of Crypto the market leader, while altcoins are alternatives and usually follow Bitcoin's movements. More simply Bitcoin is the parent of all cryptocurrencies while altcoins are its children. Altcoins exist as innovative projects and try to compete with Bitcoin, but most of them are indeed scams. Therefore, it is important to distinguish between Bitcoin and altcoins to avoid being trapped by altcoins that always promise large profits and claim to replace Bitcoin.

A lot of it stems from limited IQ and the inability for proper conceptual abstract thinking, you can look it up -- most humans in the world are not able to do that, which is why it leads to confusion with basic concepts such as these. This is why you can find many wrong opinions in various threads that have such kind of concepts. It is quite simple: - Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency per definition as you have outlined, yet cryptocurrencies aside from Bitcoin are mostly useless.
- Bitcoin is a blockchain or uses blockchain technology, yet blockchain technology aside from its application in Bitcoin is mostly useless.
From these basics, you derive that: - Bitcoin is not equal to cryptocurrencies / crypto.
- Bitcoin is not equal to blockchain.
The belief that shitcoins are similar to Bitcoin is probably the leading reason for which so many people were scammed in this industry and why they have a sour taste. Some people have turned away from Bitcoin, misleadingly believing that it is like the shitcoin that they were scammed.

Essentially, those who consider crypto a scam lack knowledge or cannot differentiate between Bitcoin and altcoins. This is simply a lack of literacy especially for those new to crypto they often confuse altcoins with Bitcoin even though both are part of the crypto community. Crypto generally refers to thousands of other altcoins. Many of these are indeed scams especially meme coins and projects that rely on hype and narratives. The risks are also much higher in altcoins than in Bitcoin. Essentially, Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, but in practice, we must be able to distinguish between Bitcoin and all existing coins. If we can differentiate between the two our mindset about Bitcoin and altcoins will change and we will no longer consider crypto a scam.

That separation only happens here with us and doesn’t get to go out there for most of the narratives. When people hear the term cryptocurrency, what always comes to their minds is Bitcoin before anything else. Out here, we make that separation to put Bitcoin in a category of its own but, that’s the much we can get with it really. I buy into your idea of an education as well, however it’s one that would be hard won as, most of the victims that have being scammed of their earnings through Bitcoin are usually the elderly with very few young people. You know how they say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.
