I read the topic and the Op, wanted to drop how I think it doesn't correspond before I saw your post. Bitcoin was initially volatile because it didn't gain much adoption as we have today and that's why the bear seasons of the previous cycles were deeper than what we have today. Volatility have reduced more than before because of ETFs significant buys as well as more institutional involvement, they now act as the shock absorber for the market.
That said, long-term holding is the best way to make profit but if you can't afford that, sticking to short-term trading isn't bad.

That's true, real investor don't follow market trend they invest consistent and it doesn't matter whether they're shrimps (small scale holders) they accumulate at their own pace but consistently and according to what's available for discretionary, it's traders that mostly follow the market trend to buy and sell whenever big investors (whales) do.
