Conor McGregor is inked to fight in his comeback. It’s been a long time and nobody thought he would ever fight again.  Now we see if he has what it takes to win. Not sure why he’s doing this, but I can’t wait to watch.

I won't be surprised if Conor McGregor was forced to return because of his expensive lifestyle, Otherwise he has made enough money to retire peacefully.

This is a rematch against Max Holloway and Nate Diaz said during an interview recently that the UFC wanted him to fight Conor McGregor for his return fight, but he rejected that proposal. He asked the UFC to find another opponent and said if Conor wins, he is ready for the trilogy  .

Personally I have always placed bets against Conor McGregor. I lost big time against Aldo and I could not even believe what I was witnessing, then against Nate Diaz I expected Conor to win considering how he had dismantled Aldo, I placed a bet for the first time on him to win and ended up losing. 

After Conor moved up in weight, I never expected Eddie Alvarez to be dismantled so easily and I again lost money in that fight. The Khabib Nurmagomedov fight was the one where I was confident that there wouldn't be any magical left hand that could stun the world.

When Conor and Holloway first fought, Holloway was just 21 years old. Now he is a proven champion and it will be difficult for anyone to return after a long gap and expect to be competitive, so I am picking Max Holloway this time.

I bet this is another Mayweather scenario; Connor cannot keep up with his lifestyle, so he will return for money. He last fought Jan 23, 2021, against Dustin Poirier, losing via TKO, while Holloway just fought last month against Oliveira, losing by decision.

Taking this fight for Connor is risky because he is facing a fresh, well-trained, and very active opponent, while Connor is on a long layoff and will have trouble with ring rust.

Connor is a good fighter, but that was years ago; the situation has changed, and many will doubt if he can still compete on a higher level.

Ring rust and Conor is not known to have a gas tank or long stamina in the ring. If he can't hit you in the first couple of rounds then he will probably lose the fight because he will tired early. And he rely mostly on his striking, and if it didn't hit anything then he spend a lot of energy.

As compare to Max who can fight the whole 3 to 5 rounds and he is the more active between the two. And he loves to strike so we might see both of them squaring in the ring but then Max had the advantage in the later round to win.

Yeah its easy to believe that his not motivated to fight anyone as of the moment. If we look on his current lifestyle we could really see that he's doing good in life.

But to cancel a fight is not all about because he don't want to fight anymore. There's a contract that has been signed and for sure promoters are spending money to hype or promote their upcoming fight. So most provably if Conor already sign that deal this will proceed to protect the business interest of people working up for this fight to happen.

So even if he chase for headlines for sure that what he signed will get honored. So there's provably more chance that this fight would really happen. Maybe the fight will be cancelled if they didn't get their targets or fans attention.

However, if the speculation that he is in need of cash is real, he might be accepting this fight to pay debts and expenses. I am not making a declaration that he is bankrupt or that he is poor already. This man has collected much assets. But if he has overspent more than what he has in liquid cash available, he might have a liquidity problem.

This liquidity problem for Conor can be fixed much easily with 2 fights in the UFC heheheeh.

McGregor is one of the few names who could move the needle enough to get a lot of people to subscribe to Paramount+. That is my guess as to why they are bringing him back. He has been out of the sport for so long and hasn’t lived in the most disciplined manner. The chances of him being champion again are quite slim.

This looks more like them trying to milk a cash cow because their roster is so thin when it comes to having mass appeal. There aren’t fighters today that are as big as McGregor, Rousey and Brock Lesnar were back when the UFC was at the peak of its popularity.

I think Dana White and the UFC are looking for hugh profile fights. After Francis and Ronda Rousey were in action this weekend on MVP, they are probably trying to boost their own fight cards, cause some of the recent ones haven't been very exciting. The white house card followed by this fight week should help to boost that.

There is not much of an age difference between both fighters. What could really tell on the results is the last time they fought, Max was in action earlier this year, but for Conor it's over 5 years now in an MMA ring and he has only won one fight since that lose to Khabib in 2018. Just on that, I'll be betting on Max to win this.

That said, like most other viewers I'll only believe this fight is happening when Conor steps in the cage.

Correct me, but there's a contract on it that both fighters will be signed before Dana White will announce it, right? Or at least there's some assurance that both fighters will be fighting. They're professional at the end of the day, and cancelling it for whatever reason it could be makes them very unprofessional.

He's rich and many are saying it, and rich comes with expensive lifestyle at least for most people, and that includes him, and just like Mayweather, I see this as a way for McGregor to have some money to cover his current lifestyle. Unlike Mayweather though, there are many fans who I believe is excited to see Conor coming back and fight.

Can you please provide any reason as to why you say that he won't be fighting because for me, it's all about money. Win or lose, he will get those buckos. Staying relevant? Might be another reason.

Either this fight wont happen and that announcement was fake move from UFC only to steal attention from MVP MMA: Rousey vs. Carano event that looked better and had better fighters than UFC event on same day. Or it will be a round KO/TKO by Max, as Conor is far-far away from being in peak form and hungry wo money and victories. I lean more to this being fake, as we heard such announcements (Conor vs Chandler with even date of a fight) many times already.

It seems that in boxing and combat sports, the concept of "retirement" no longer exists. Guys announce their retirement, then years later they backtrack and say they're going to fight. And it's always guys who love media attention or were at the top of their categories. When they come out of retirement and return to fighting, it looks like they failed in managing their finances or that they were hasty in announcing their retirement. A few days ago I saw Ronda Rousey, who also returned to fighting, fight Gina Carano, who also came out of retirement after her last fight in 2009. So this thing of fighters retiring and then returning is becoming comical.

As much as I agree with you, just seeing McGregor on the ring again brings back so much memories especially the time when he was in his peak. Like what happened to Tyson, we would definitely see some other fighters resurface as well maybe because of financial gain or opportunity? Though that may be the case, I would still enjoy every fight he would participate in.

Will he be the same fighter years ago with superb conditioning and skill? NOPE.
Will he be entertaining like what he showcased before? PROBABLY.
Will he be able to overcome the odds against him given that he's coming out from retirement? PROBABLY.
Will I watch every fight he would participate in? DEFINITELY.

Ow this is interesting but is this a confirmed bout? As far as I know Conor dont want anymore fights and with his current status or known to be self medicated with some overdose tabs is he in any good condition to fight?

Honestly I like how he fight and his fierce maybe this fight will be good if its real. Though Im assuming this is just a speculation and needed some confirmity yet. Anyway nice update sir.

Most likely will not ve divulge regarding monetary aspect but as I can see media already confirmed it matches and wow this is a Philippines outlet. I believed this will be good match, and a comeback fight for Connor. His last fight was 5 years ago, this will need him a lot of practices and training grounds since he came from a hard injury.

At his age I know he can still do this but the chance of winning thats a different story I guess.
