Conor sure is doing a lot of talking like he is going to come in and take back the UFC. I sure hope he doesn’t go out like Gina Carano in his next fight. I personally don’t think he fights again after this and have prepared myself for disappointment, but I’d love to be surprised.
Everything happens in fights. It's only necessary to make a one good punch and your opponent will be knocked out. With luck, even an unprofessional guy can accidentally knock out a professional fighter.
By the way, here is the thing with Connor. Has he been actively training during this time? When he fought with Dustin Poirier, he said that the fact that he wasn't active, played a huge role in his loss and this time, he was extremely inactive. Yes, he has a muscle memory and I believe that when you have developed a muscle memory, you can quickly gain what you lost with a wasted years if you really dedicate yourself very much. By the way, he has always been physically in shape, he was never fat, he still has some abs. He is also extremely good at mind games, so, who knows, it can work in his favor.

By the way, the most interesting part for me is, if the fight doesn't end soon and the Holloway will ask him to stand in the center and exchange punches. That will be an amazing moment, Conor and Holloway exchanging punches in the center.

Hard to believe we could be just a month and a half away from seeing Conor fight again.  Not to mention the White House event.  Looks like it will be a big summer for the UFC.  I'm looking forward to seeing some great things.  Sean Strickland didn't disappoint at the last event.  They need to keep that momentum rolling.

That big summer for UFC might play bad later if they have weak Autumn and December to end year with so-so results. It wont be good if they throw all their best within a month, and then continue with filler events.

You know what is hard to believe also? Notorious return after years of pause is in 1.5 months away, but we dont get massive promotion program. This is going to be a huge event for industry, but where is all the hype? His appearances were always a big show. But I dont see social media giving a huge buzz about his return.

The UFC historically has a stacked summer card during International Fight Week in Las Vegas and a stacked MSG card around November/December.

You know what is hard to believe also? Notorious return after years of pause is in 1.5 months away, but we dont get massive promotion program. This is going to be a huge event for industry, but where is all the hype? His appearances were always a big show. But I dont see social media giving a huge buzz about his return.
There is a huge fan base that would turn up whenever Conor McGregor fights. I am curious to see how he will perform after breaking his leg, fighters who had a similar injury never fought the same afterward.

Corey Hill: Never had a UFC fight after the leg injury, which occurred during his fight and the first to break the leg inside the cage.
Anderson Silva: Was never the same, but he did win fights after breaking his leg inside the cage.
Chris Weidman: Was never the same.

It is being reported that Conor McGregor has been drug tested 12 times already this year. The most tests a fighter has ever had to take in a year is 14… Seems they either suspect McGregor is up to no good or they want to do everything they can to show they were not condoning any steroid use. Interesting…

More of the latter for me. UFC just wanted to show that they are going to drug test everyone including Conor. Yes ago it might have been that UFC is one of the most tainted sports organization with the rampant used of steroids, like Vitor Belfort.

And we can see that once they've implemented it and fighters getting out of their cycle, we've seen dramatic changes in their physical appearance and performance. So they are going to continue to do that no matter who's who to test. And I don't think that Conor is any drugs.

Conor claims he’s been living in the gym for some time now. Is that true? Anyone’s guess. He seems like he still has some drug problems to me, but I don’t know anything.

I didn’t even think about a square off. That would be amazing. I doubt the fight goes the distance though. I think Conor will get his ankle attacked early and have a disappointing ending similar to his last fight. I hope I’m wrong.
I think he was really living in the gym for some time now, he is really that type of the guy who can do that but will that be enough for him to win against Holloway? I don't think that he will damage his ankle again but I'm sure this fight will end with knock out. Will McGregor manage to land his hook on Holloway? If Conor has been working on his reaction this whole time, then I think yes, it's possible but otherwise, Holloway will knock him out like he did to Gaethje.

These are tests are only for steroid use, I reckon. This does not test him for the source of his real power heheeheh. The power of the Colombian powder that he sniffs in his nose hehehe.

In any case, it appears that Conor has been doing a clean lifestyle. Also, if he signed the contract to fight Max, this very much shows that he is very confident!

Conor Gregor is back!

It is being reported that Conor McGregor has been drug tested 12 times already this year. The most tests a fighter has ever had to take in a year is 14… Seems they either suspect McGregor is up to no good or they want to do everything they can to show they were not condoning any steroid use. Interesting…

It could be PED's for sure, including diuretics as most fighters or even boxers are known to use it to make the weight cut and mask PED used.

If could be his lifestyle too, not sure if there are reports that him into such real powder as what you are referring. But in any case if he did, then it might be caught in the drug testing so he shouldn't take that risk as this fight is big.

Huge paycheck means everything should be perfect on his side. Including not taking any drugs.

That huge fan base must start working as event is approaching fast. The size of promotion must be huge, as this is a huge event for industry. One of the persons who has made UFC great, is returning after a huge loss, huge pause. And we get only announcement from uncle Dana White. Before McGregor fight, there will be UFC White House event and about that people has been talking and speculating for more than half a year. Now it is McGregor and I dont see much or any posts in fighting communities about it.

Conor is 37 years old, not really "that" old, he has retired a while ago so people think he is older than he really is, normally you have to understand that he is only 37 years old and that is not really that much of a bad thing at the moment, it is still a fine situation to be in.

However, Max is even younger, he is only 34 years old, and I know he is far away from his prime of course, but at least he is still younger. People are reacting to a 37 year old fighting to a 34 year old, as if they were 60 years old, this is not really that old for a fight, people could still fight professionally at this age, and it's not really a retirement thing. We are going to still see two able fighters fighting to the end I am sure of it.

It's going to be one-sided, I feel. While I love Connor, I don't see him winning tbh. Prime Connor would have demolished Holloway but now he's not focused or serious enough to give it his all.

He's fighting for money more than anything else and because he still pulls the crowd, Dana has no problem offering him fights knowing he's not at that same level.

Let's see how it goes but I'm very certain Holloway's going to have a late KO because Connor gases out early.

Many fighters from their weight division tell that peak form is 32 years +/- 1 year. Conor is 37, comes from 5 years pause and injury. He hasnt won since 2020. He is not retired, he is close to being not being able to compete on top level ever again. If he was from a much heavier division, that would one thing. But he is from division where timing, reaction matters. At 37, he will be to slow for most of the opponent.

About "Not really "that" old. For regular people he will be still in prime and good shape, but for professional sport, age counting is different. Dont confuse that.

About that we can say that 37 is not old if we talk about for normal people, but for a fighter like him on that age we can see them experience performance decline. Also Conor is been injured and he didn't fight for so long. So its hard to expect something from him.

Most of fighter still doing good at 32, but the 5 years no fight gap and inured is a big deal here. Although we can say that this is not a retirement yet. But its something close to them since for sure that he cannot compete again on much tougher opponents. This is provably the reason why he don't want to fight those young fighters and choose to fight those old ones he familiar with.

It’s happening!

Conor McGregor is inked to fight in his comeback. It’s been a long time and nobody thought he would ever fight again.  Now we see if he has what it takes to win. Not sure why he’s doing this, but I can’t wait to watch.

Looking forward to it, too, but isn't it obvious why he's doing this? These comeback fights or special events are usually guaranteed to be huge commercial successes and I bet McGregor is living his life to its fullest. Google says his net worth is around $200 million? If he can add another $30 million or fill the financial gaps caused by cocaine and champagne over the last few years, he has good reason not to turn down the opportunity. So many sportsmen are willing to put their legacy on the line for money, some of them have to.

Will this fight be the winner get the bad motherfucker belt? This will certainly cause Conor to be back to the UFC for much longer if he will have the bad motherfucker belt hehehehe. I also very much wish this will cause other fighter like Justin Gaethje and Michael Chandler to challenge Conor or also Paddy the baddy!

Paddy the baddy would be awesome! Whenever I see Paddy the baddy, I have to think of this German fighter as the possible daddy.

Paddy the baddy and his daddy!

You see what I see? Tongue

The big factor is always conditioning; even a young fighter will lose if he is not well-conditioned coming to the fight. 37 is still in fighting years, provided that his body is well disciplined. Conor needs to get the best conditioning coach, the best trainer, and the best training camp. A comeback fight is always the hardest a fighter will go through.
Holloway, being the fresher fighter of the two, will just extend the fight until Connor cannot keep up, so Connor's only chance is to stop Holloway in the early rounds.

It worth noting that Audie Attar, McGregor manager, stated in an interview that McGregor prepared for the fight against Max Holloway, both in terms of training and mentality McGregor is truly passionate about returning to fight.
Furthermore, the age difference between McGregor and Max Holloway is only three years, and both are experienced fighters, even though McGregor hasn't fight for almost five years since his last loss, I still expect McGregor to be brutal.

While I am sure that they will do as fine as possible, this is just not about fighting at all. This is just Dana realizing that Paul brothers and others, have made a killing out of exhibition, and they are doing the same thing. Look at Mayweather and Pacman fight, and how much money is in that.

So "nostalgia" fights are becoming a norm, and while there will be real belt fights for the winners and champions, they are going to use some under cards as something that will be a lot more regards to selling tickets that's it.

About that we can say that 37 is not old if we talk about for normal people, but for a fighter like him on that age we can see them experience performance decline. Also Conor is been injured and he didn't fight for so long. So its hard to expect something from him.

I just keep picturing McGregor’s leg bent in half in the last fight. Maybe it is reinforced with steel and stronger now, but as someone who has suffered horrific injuries, it is hard to get passed the mental aspect of it. Is McGregor going to be fearlessly checking kicks or will he be trying to avoid them. That to me is the biggest question of this fight, besides if it will actually happen.
