Has any body you know made it in life through gambling?

Hi guys, I was just thinking, alot of people are gambling around the world, but we hardly come across success stories, even when casinos announce and or post a big win, no one ever comes out to claim they are the win (atleast, I've never seen one).

I can't bring up countless examples but I don't want to go into that now, and I also don't want this post to be too long, so the question is quite simple...

Is there anyone who you know who have actually made it in life through gambling?
Like the person used to be poor and or living an average life in terms of financial status, but today, that person has become a rich and successful person through gambling, do you know any of such person? And how much do you believe gambling can actually make a poor or average person rich?

In common sense, making it through gambling would be a 1% possibility, because gambling is mostly additional income to your already existed one; making it for life through gambling is not entirely possible. A very good point, but i do not know if it's possible but I kind of want to get an idea of how common you guys think it is to win that big amount, you already said 1% but I think that is alot to be honest, someone winning a big amount of money and ending up squandering the entire amount in a riotious living is a separate thing to discuss about.

What I really want to understand is, if it's that really hard to make it through gambling, why are so many people stressing their self chasing money through gambling, why can't every one just treat gambling as a fun activity,? this will drastically reduce all the problem gamblers we have around.
A neighbour on the compound where I live values gambling more the he value the foods he eats that keeps him healthy, and he is always boosting about what and what he will do when his dream of winning a million dollars from gambling finally becomes reality, this is the main reason behind this topic.

I don't know someone personally but there's a lot of people in our country who won the lottery and it actually change their life, from a hardworking man that retires to enjoy his winning and to someone who get blind by fortune and gets back to being poor again, I think there's a similar stories that was posted here. It's true that there's a lot of people who made it through gambling but they're only few, there's still a lot of people who are losing to gambling compared to those who one.

No. I have not met one.

Growing up, I have this itching feeling to meet a lotto winner who amounts to millions of pesos. I have not bumped into them or even met one, and I think that's also why I don't believe in the national lottery. In my own thinking, I believe there's no real winner, and because of privacy and security, they are not going public.
They have shows on television about the life of a lottery winner, but I don't believe it either. I guess I have believed in the "to see is to believe" kind of quote, and I won't try betting on the lottery until I find one.

No, I don't know any. I know someone who won the equivalent of about 2,000 dollars in the national lottery, and it had absolutely no effect on his life. I know that he used the money to buy various new household appliances.However, I know of several cases where people lost almost their entire fortune and had to start their lives over again, but in a different country. In my circle of friends, gambling is currently something rare and only for major championships like the 2026 World Cup.

I also don't know any of them. I know more people who went into debt because of gambling or something along those lines. Even if they won something, it won't be huge to the point they became rich overnight (or recover their loss). That being said, those people are in the extreme minority. People who gambles openly here don't really talk about casino and whatnot. They're usually gambling against one another, the winner gets a ticket to a nice vacation spot, needs to buy some good meals, and so on.

Social norms definitely plays a huge part here. I doubt anyone would openly share their casino gambling activity, unless you're looking at social media platform or forum that gets blocked quite often too,

I have seen a lot of people that won a jackpot in gambling but I can't really testify if they really made it or not until after some time we see the influence of what they used the money for, because I'm very sure that some will eventually lose the entire money back to gambling at the attempt to win more while some may invest with it and replicate it kind, but giving it some interval of years to observe and see how this would have impact on them is more necessary here.

Well, people win in gambling, but I don't know or have any person that has gotten to where he wants to be financially through gambling, I don't know if anyone one else where has been financially comfortable though gambling, are we not going too far with this kind of thinking, even though gambling should be viewed in this manner, it means nothing is guaranteed, this brings us to the reason why we should gamble with our spare cash to avoid raising our expectations.
I will agree that some people have gotten a good winnings but how many of them thought it wise to do the right things with the money, is either the money goes back to gambling or some other things that are not worth it.

It’s important to understand that when money comes to people who aren’t truly ready for it meaning they have no idea how to multiply and manage it outside of gambling then even if they hit a big jackpot, it will most likely be temporary. I’ve personally met people who were very skilled at sports betting and earned good money from it, but I wouldn’t say they looked or lived like financially successful people. I don’t know exactly where their winnings went, but they often lived in modest conditions and regularly used public transportation.That’s why, in order to become truly wealthy, we need to expand our mindset and our internal limits. Because I’m sure everyone in life has had opportunities to either earn a lot of money or win a large amount somehow, but for various reasons it didn’t happen, and most often that’s because the person simply wasn’t ready for it.

However, there are a lot of stories about big wins on the Internet, especially on social networks. Pessimists believe that such posts are most likely written to attract casino customers, and I agree more than not. Similarly, there are stories when a poor man who won a large sum went broke, believing that he needed even more, eventually losing everything.

I would say so. that wealth is a rather heavy burden for those who have always been poor, and proper financial management requires knowledge, which poor people generally do not have. Therefore, the money cycle in casinos often turns from wins to losses, as people are overcome by greed, and many lose what they have won. It is not for nothing that the money won in the casino is called "crazy money."

The majority of the stories about gamblers who became successful through gambling are from the Internet. Some of them were lucky to win the jackpot through lotteries and other forms of gambling. The few people I know who won big but they never become successful. Some of them wasted it on gambling or in luxuries living. They were not able to use the win as a capital to build a financially stable life.

Not really, I know people that won millions in the past but today they are broke and from what I know nobody can actually make it in life through gambling and the reason I'm saying that is because no matter how much you win from the game there is no way you can make it happen consistently, winning once doesn't make you financially stable.

My next neighbor has not as of 2022 and he graduated from high school 2019 as civil engineer and from then, life has been treating him badly and on the faithful day according to him, that it was the last money with him and just decided to risk it with a already book code and he went to the betting shop and stake the ticket and all the games play finished on that Saturday because it is only a weekend games all through and the evening time he went back to the betting shop to check his tickets and be hold, all the games played for him as predicted, he was able to win 49,846,310 millions, he bought a car and still invest on opening more betting shops on those areas that are still lacking betting shop and believe me that the neighbor has made it big through sports betting, and he has betting shops almost in all communities now.

When it comes to making it in gambling, I will also take myself as a case study, and I don't think I have made it already in gambling, this is not about winning opportunity or not, because I already had some countless time of winning more than losing as a matter of facts, but have I made it in gambling, obviously no, but I still have the expectation of better days ahead in gambling and I am not yet tired of playing to have fun and still expect an opportunity to come.

I have many friends who gamble, but not a single one of them has successfully changed their life through gambling. They managed to get by and change their life through work, not gambling. In fact, quite a few eventually became addicted to gambling and ended up in very bad financial shape. Some of us have already quit gambling and rarely join gatherings, but there are also those who no longer gamble yet still attend hangouts, just to share stories and laugh.

I know a guy who hit it big in the lottery, but it only takes a few years before he comes out and tells others that he won. He is not a casino; he is just a casual lottery bettor who dreams of changing his life through the lottery. He told us it's a long shot and that not everyone can be as lucky as he is, which we believe to be true.
There are people who hit a jackpot in gambling, but it's so rare that we should not rely on gambling to change our lives; it's still hard work that can change our lives. If you work harder and wisely, you are guaranteed to change your lives

Privacy is one thing here; not everyone likes to get themselves out there and be known as someone who just won a significant amount. They want to protect their identity. I have seen and read about a few times where some of our local gambling companies will share and display people who won about 50m (NGN) and above with their picture on their social media, which I consider risky. I have not won that big before; even if that happens, I won't want to do that.

Didn't meet a guy made life changing wins on gambling, what usual scenarios I encounter is they win huge but not enough to give some impressive progress on their lives.

But I heard several success stories online that there are people made good fortune on gambling. Usually the gamblers I've seen earning that are in skilled based games specifically those people playing poker.

For other especially those playing on luck based games normal to see their winnings also got drained knowing lots of risk playing those random games.
