When it comes to making it in gambling, I will also take myself as a case study, and I don't think I have made it already in gambling, this is not about winning opportunity or not, because I already had some countless time of winning more than losing as a matter of facts, but have I made it in gambling, obviously no, but I still have the expectation of better days ahead in gambling and I am not yet tired of playing to have fun and still expect an opportunity to come.

If only most gamblers will get to understand what you just said, gambling is build up to serve as entertainment purposes and not for people to take as a way of earning money from it, as the game will not give them what they are expecting and for one to prevent disappointment and damage, they will have to follow the right way of gambling and have a good run with it, as they won't have to battle with a lot of losses that will make or lead them into hurting their emotions.

No, I personally don't know anyone like that, but I do know a guy who earned a lot through poker. He hadn't been poor before that, though, so, he's definitely not the one you are asking about. Overall, I believe there are many thousands of people who became rich through gambling. Whether that made them happy is another question. There are videos on YouTube about poor or average people who win millions and soon lose everything or end up living pretty miserable lives despite their fortune.

Just like you, I have only been hearing stories that certain person won big from gambling, but I don't know of anyone who's close to me or live in the same neighborhood or from same place with me that has made it in life through gambling. Although I still believe that there are people out there who has made it in life through gambling. Maybe it might happen in the future, but so far none known to me has become rich from gambling.

I have heard of people who have made money by winning a jackpot and used that money for establishing themselves. However these are rare and very few people have been able to follow that path. I have personally never met them.

I think we should not set them as examples but for our reading entertainment only. People who have made money from gambling are in total very less in number the casinos are making much higher everyday than these examples taken together.

Making it through life needs a stable income, in my opinion. Running a casino can be one of them.

Despite all the negativity around gambling, I still think these kinds of success stories do exist, but they’re extremely rare compared to the huge number of people who eventually just lose money.
Yes, sometimes we hear stories about people winning huge amounts and completely changing their lives, but in many cases that’s also part of successful marketing.  More often it’s professional poker players or people making money around the gambling industry itself. At the same time, almost nobody talks about the thousands or even millions of people who lost money. So personally, I don’t see gambling as a realistic way for an average person to become rich.

Hi guys, I was just thinking, alot of people are gambling around the world, but we hardly come across success stories, even when casinos announce and or post a big win, no one ever comes out to claim they are the win (atleast, I've never seen one).

That is because people who it happens to are like one in a million. Many people might be profitable and make money out of it, but very, and I mean very few, get to hit the jackpot and make life-changing money. People who are already rich are the people who win money that can be life changing because they stake very high.

And how much do you believe gambling can actually make a poor or average person rich?

It's not like I don't believe it, but I'm not counting on it. It's something that happens to one out of a million people, so that kind of probability is not enough to make me believe in it. I do play games that have odds that can give me that kind of money, but I play them to try out my luck and see. It's not like I'm hoping and praying it happens. I know it's possible because I have actually seen people and bets who won it online, even though nobody I know personally has, but the chances of it happeing are etremly low.

The amount of winnings in gambling is limited but there are lucky gamblers who win. But the winning gamblers cannot control their emotions. They expect more wins and increase the amount of bets next time.

I have seen a gambler who was working outside his country but he used to gamble in casinos in his free time. By chance he won a big bet and got a huge amount of money. After winning he returned to his country and bought property. He went from poor to rich very quickly. I have only seen this one person who won in gambling and his family became rich from poor.

There are countless examples of gambler who went from rich to poor because of uncontrolled gambling. Although the number of gamblers who won is not small, most gamblers cannot stop gambling at the right time and therefore they lose money.

You are right that casinos have made public announcements of big winners who won on their platform, but we never see them online claiming that they won such. Maybe they are quite afraid of being attacked because such a public display might attract criminals to them, so possibly the reasons why we never get to see and know those people who won big in casinos, as they announce them.

I have not really come in contact with such big winners, though, but at least I have seen people who won a little amount that is tangible enough to pay their tuition fees back then in my school days, students who won a reasonable amount of money used it for school matters, as it bothers them, while some use it to renew their accommodation rent. These are the few I had witnessed back then in school days.

Never though about gambling to be something that will help me to do a breakthrough in life and completely change my life. I only know 1 person who is series in to gambling. He is playing poker and participating in tournaments as well as try to run a poker school. I can not say that he is making a living by daily gambling, as tutorship and tournaments (that are not daily) are what he earn with. As to myself, I dont have enough perseverance and patience to gamble every day or have long sessions to make a living from that activity.

I do not know someone personally given that almost all of the people that I know fell from grace due to their uncontrolled gambling habits. However, you can easily check this by looking at professional poker players. I do think that they count as "successful people through gambling" given the line of work that they have and the financial success that they are experiencing.

In essence, it's better to promote gambling as a means of entertainment than profit due to its addictive nature. If people would view gambling more on the profit side, then expect addiction to follow in the whole process.

While we may hear stories about people winning huge amounts of money in jackpots or lottery, still, the people who fell from grace comprise of the negative stories in gambling.

At the end of the day, gambling is all about its risky nature- whether you become successful or not depends primarily on how you would approach the game.

I knew a couple of guys won a life-changing amount in my hometown and yeah it is real they received the money but they are not someone I know personally, and also I have no idea what they did with their winnings to turn their life into successful one.

But it is real, the odds of living in the neibhourhood where someone manages to win a lottery is also quote difficult.

I haven't seen any yet that gambling transformed from a poor man to a rich man. The problem is that only a few gamblers are able to hit the jackpot but majority of them gamble it back and lose it all because of greed since they feel that they are going to win a higher amount. Making it through gambling is possible but not that easy to achieve, it is very possible that we are gambling and don't even win Big from the bets we are taking, while in other cases, it is very possible that we gamble and have a winning opportunity to end a huge amount from gambling, some will definitely take advantage of this and make it worthwhile, but some might also get the similar opportunity and misuse it without making a difference in life, the truth is that people are winning but not all make use of their opportunity for their own sustainability in life.

I have met several people who have had very lucky wins but even then they did not win millions. Hundreds of thousands sure, but not enough to call them rich. That money might last them quite a while though... Even longer if they are smart enough to invest it into Bitcoin instead of using it to continue gambling (which is really the biggest problems of most gamblers- they keep going and bet their winnings as well).

Well life through gambling is not easy there were times that they lose sometimes wins, but of course they can't continue gambling without other source of income, the persons I know have a business but they were also like gambling addict they cant stop gambling, there are times they win a lot, but there are also times they lose, but they still do gambling.
There were ups and downs in their life because of gambling his old business close because of his addiction, now he has a new business which is going great but still do gamble and from what i have heard he lose a lot sometimes win bigger so life is moving for him, hoping he did not go bankrupt again.

I don't know of anybody that has made it through gambling, maybe that's a reason not to have a REASON to gamble hard anyway. It's not provably true to me that gambling can enrich a person, especially now that I have a better knowledge of the system, everything is starting to make sense, or nonsense!

Well, since I haven't experienced it myself and don't know of anyone who has, there's nothing to lay my basis of belief on. It's crazy how so much people don't know other people who became rich through gambling as well.

I feel that people who win avoid getting into the limelight. They maintain a low profile so that no one casts an evil eye on them or becomes jealous of them. In my life, I haven’t seen many people winning, but I have witnessed people losing all their wealth in gambling casinos. Technically, if you gamble for long enough, you will only end up losing money. Also, don’t fall for the trap of these casino posts. Casinos post them purely for marketing purposes. 90 percent of the time, the jackpot winners are fake or scripted.

No I don't know anyone personally, but there are news about winners in my country who have won big, they are just not many and it makes me feel like Bitcoin solo miners are winning more than those who are gambling.

Both sides are gambling activities but hitting solo block is more happening than those who want to hit lottery from gambling or lottery ticket, and it's why I give solo mining a chance too.

Just the way they said that one's win is being determined or decided by luck, that is why you only hear it as stories. But, the fact is that not everyone will be lucky to win big from gambling and this shouldn't make you to feel that through gambling you can become rich because having this thought will likely make you to engaged in careless gambling. Which will also make you to want to treat gambling as paycheck game and that's what makes some gamblers to become addicted to gambling.

No, but I know 2 people that gambling affected.

There is still one person that is among that I think gambling is affecting badly, but I am not sure if gambling is truly affecting the person because he did not disclosed it. All I noticed is that he is mostly broke than having money and he is gambling.

This has been the reason I always tell people to be a responsible gambler than thinking gambling can make them rich.
