In a nutshell, I guess you are saying government should make our educational system more practical, rather than the theoretically system which we operates today on almost all the fields, and likewise updated with respect to the current trend, right? Because to be honest, I'm very much sure that all the courses people study now in our higher Institutions are all courses that was added before 1999 when our constitution was last amended. And since then, and since then, no new causes that is seen to be generating the most revenue has been implemented in our school as a proper academic program. However, for the fact say government never implement this in the country, as parents it should be your duty to make sure say your children learn at least one or two skills immediately they finish secondary school before entering the university. Because we all see how the country dey be each year, making learning of skills very important.

All the courses you've listed here are in our tertiary institution and the ones that are not here are in other specialised institutions that offers them. If you want to go into full time sports, there are a lot of football academy around and while offering any course of your choice, Yiu can still combine it with some of these course as part time course if you so desire.

If you're not paying attention to details, you will assume some of these things are not on ground but that's never the case. The issue is that both the normal institutions that are recognised and some of these side institutions receives little funding from the government and so it's deficult to see them that are of high standard.

Courses like creative art and media and film studies are in most of our universities and Thier induction process is always great and I feel that's one way they use in encouraging people to consider Carrer part in such field. It's just left for you as an individual to decide that you're going make the best out of the course you're studying knowing fully well that no job is even waiting for you.

Bro you need to check at your statistics oh, all those courses you mentioned that are not there in Nigerian universities are all available in literally all the universities I can think of. There are lots of students in creative arts, Music, media and film making. So it's not really as your making it look like. The universities is built in a way that, you can literally study anything under the sun, whatever course you can think of as at today, is been studied in the universities. As a matter of fact I see a lot of students who did science courses in the university in most cases rebranding and applying their creative knowledge and music talents this days without waiting for government or anything body.

To me the government should go beyond rebranding the educational system because if you observe a lot of Nigerians are gradually losing interest in education and the reason is not because of the educational system or pattern but because even if one should do well in school there isn’t any guarantee for a good job in view, most people just feels it’s useless putting in 5-6years into a particular course and at the end no assurance for a good job. Every year universities, polytechnics and college of health keeps on graduating thousands of students without any hope of jobs, so tell me why won’t the youths zeal for education die? Someone can finish with first class and will be given #10,000 cash whereas another will finish as 1st runner up in BBN and get #500,000,000 so much of misplaced priorities in Nigeria, no value for education.

What i feel the government should immediately do is create more jobs and improve the already existing ones so that jobs will appear more lucrative in such a way that it will rekindle the youths interest in education, no one in this generation wants to put efforts into something that they ain’t sure will pay off.

There is a course they called a Theatre Arts, under this course there is nothing you will not see regarding entertainment, whichever type, even if you want to model is also there. However having a singing talent isn't something going to study would bring to light because if you have the talent it doesn't require any education to achieve it but if you have the opportunity to perform in stage the only thing they want to see is your voice and how good it is, although I'm not deleting the importance of education in the picture but however I'm saying that musical success works through your natural talent while education back you up in some things. As for sports they don't actually do it in university but however Ecademy is were those talent are enrolled.

If you say the government has specific areas of course of study which centers on computer sciences, engineering, architecture, public administration etc, then you have not really done your analysis properly because we have threatre arts that houses those who are into film making and that's where anyone who is talented in film making and content creating should apply and study to fulfill his or her dreams of becoming an actor or actress.

Government has what we called Craft centers where those who don't wants to study and become professionals like being a doctor, lawyers and politicians can also enroll and learn different skills of their choices, gone are those days that our parents will force us to read a particular course because they once read it during their days in school, the government has made provisions for entrepreneurship courses in schools, the only challenge we have is after graduating in Nigeria the government won't give you a Job that is left alone for you to sort out yourself and that's why it's good to learn a skill so if you don't have employment opportunities from the government you can survive with the skill.

You made a fair point. Natural talent plays a huge role in music and sports because some abilities are inborn and cannot simply be taught in school. However, education and training still add value because they help refine talent, improve discipline, build confidence, and teach the business side of entertainment or sports. Talent may open the door, but knowledge and proper guidance can help someone stay successful for a long time.

D issue is, there is no market for those courses. And those courses are not exactly professional courses. They can maybe have them in colleges but not in polytechnics and universities.

IMO I think ur idea is good, but rather than creating course for them, y not include them in secondary schools, or make them as vocational courses. I think if they start teaching these useful skills from secondary schools, it will create more jobs, u'll see a lot of entrepreneurs, skilled youths and teenagers, and working students.

So yeah, it's a good idea, but instead of being in universities, y not in secondary schools.

Like seriously our education system needs serious improvement because many young people have talents outside the regular courses schools focus on. One sad part is that all these government officials enjoyed quality education and better opportunities when they were younger, but the same system is not being properly developed for today’s youth. Take a good look at how many talented people in music, sports, fashion, film and technology become successful and mostly through self learning or private training instead of the school system supporting their talents early. If the education system becomes more flexible and practical, many youths would have better opportunities to develop their skills and build successful careers legally and professionally. At some point that was what the Polytechnic institutions were for, but due to lack of proper management, that practical quality of the institution died off.

Na waiting dey my mind you just talk so, all these things dey on ground but how we go take know say them dey our education is no longer value like before, our leaders don make education be something wey no get value because after we graduate from school we no dey get work, person wey go study engineering and he dey work for another company wey no concern waiting him study, person wey study art and creative dey do POS for junction and the certificate go come be like na waste of time.

Na for our country you go hear youth dey talk say school na scam because of waiting them pass through, our country get many things wey go make us one of the best countries in the world but our leaders no dey allow us progress and all those things na selfishness dey cause am, if to say them carry our education serious and them dey employ people for work everything go dey normal and we no go dey where we dey now.

When will government have time to rebrand our education when they are busy sending their children to study abroad, will this instance it is clear that they don't have that plan at all, what I'm suspecting is that our government are after is to make the governing system as inheritance for their families, if they decided to fix our schools they believe that opportunity will not come because the children of masses will understand how the system works and their children will not have that opportunity that is why they continue to kill our education so that we will not know how things are being done.

It is just left for us now to the recent technology that is going around, which is artificial intelligence, I have seen so many people who have adopted this and honestly it is really working for them, also do the same thing so that we can avoid what they are planning for against us.

The education system is gradually fording in Nigeria and yet government is very busy campaign for 2027 election, yet none of their children will school here in Nigeria, some of the government schools is gradually diminishing because the building roofs are linking so badly once there is rain fall and like this raining season we are in now, some of the classes will be full with water and there are no chairs for the students to seat on while taken lectures, so if there is a means of rebranding our educational system in Nigeria in such away that, the talented student will focus studying on their career without mixing any other courses with it, you will see a great change in the society because that we Nigerian are so talented, yet so many are wasting their talents because there are no sponsore.

That your thinking so ehn so many people dey think am say how wish government go fit rebrand the your system of Education in the country called Nigeria. This Educational sector na one of the biggest institutions where we for dey teach our children how to read and write and that system na him be the engine room wey learning dey come from oo.

The ones wey I dey look into pass like this na the small small shikirin pikin them wey dey go the Akara school (Nursery school) wey supposed dey koki for their learning place, them no get anything to show, their videos no dey play because no person wey go teach them the book.
No teacher for the primary children oo (pupils) if you reach the school arena, you go see the children wey them dey run up and down like animals children wey papa and mama don die since 1900.
Make you waka enter secondary schools come see wetin dey sup, even teachers sef dey fear for their  head because of wetin no good wey them dey carry eyes see. Wetin I dey try talking about now na the rate of all this deebam cults them too plenty for the secondary schools levels, person no fit send pikin go school with peace of mind again oo and na because of all this kakata for the school centers na him make some of our children come turn Olodo like this so how person pikin go go school and because of fear na inside bush him go hide until school closed.
This illiterate level now come dey make us they do wetin them dey call examination malpractice. E come dey rampant for everywhere oo.

Teachers go dey collect points from the girlitos them because say them won give them points or mark.  Just reach the schools, everything jaga jaga ie.the system is too bad and corrupted.
We dey beg the government of Nigeria say make them rebrand the Educational system. The government can rebrand the Educational system of Education for this country unless them no just get the time or interest of the country people for their heart.

All those prominent men occupying the government seats, are aware that the Nigeria system of education is messed up, and that is why all their children are studying overseas, we really need a leader that will come to our aid because educational sectors is diminish in the Nigeria,  if president Bola  Ahmed Tinubu rule this country for the second regime, what will be the faith of our youths in the society because it is not obvious that some northern part of Nigeria are not in school sections due to the killing and kidnapping every day, revolution is what Nigeria needs right now because the crime rate is much in Nigeria.

If these politicians are voted out and upright ones are elected to rule, every sectors of our economy will be revamp.

We don't have to blame the government all the time. Yes, our leaders enjoyed a better system of education during their time and they have failed to implement policies that will make the system much better than what they meet. Nigerian Youths are filled with much talents while some are wasting away taking drugs. Since the government is not providing the adequate educational system we should learn skills and developed ourselves than wait for the government.

The government has decided not to provide opportunities for us so don't rely on them for opportunities, create your opportunity and work towards it, imagine Youths graduating from higher institutions without Jobs but during the 80s once you finish your standard six as it was called then they will give you automatic employment without you seeking for connections before getting it. We earnestly pray for a better government that will make things right and take education as a priority.

Revolution and voting are two different things. Voting is when you democratically decide who to become your next leader through your human rights, most things like this do work in a sane environment but in a country where there are insane politicians and leaders, there won't be any tangible outcome because it will be corruptedly maneuvered. The best you can do in such conditions is to advocate for revolution as it have to be the only way out to succeed. Revolution is always the last option people are left with and it must not be in form of killing people but also making their home difficult for them to stay and for them to force them out of the government.

But if I may asked, are people not still losing their lives for no just course at the different parts of the country by these bandits? Or aren't you aware of the pupils and their teachers who were captured by bandits in Oyo state 2 weeks ago? Because one thing you need to understand is that if either the country undergoes revolution or not, it won't stop people from being killed daily. And it would have even been better they died for a reason while protesting for the betterment of the entire country, than dying in the hands of kidnapper in the bush, whose government have decided to pay deaf ear to the cries of the entire people of Nigeria. So to be honest, a strong revolution is the best solution for this country.
