Hello, forum members. I'm having a minor issue with my main account. I registered on the forum almost a year ago; I haven't been a very active user, and I've posted 20 messages during that time.

Not long ago, I created a thread on the forum. It wasn't exactly popular, but there was some activity. A couple of days ago, I discovered that my thread had been deleted and my profile blocked, with the note "...spam or plagiarism". This came as a surprise to me, since I hadn't spammed anywhere, and moreover, I hadn't plagiarized anything; I just posted in my thread from time to time, like other users do. And I didn't receive any warnings about this—just a ban.

If it's not too much trouble, could the moderator explain which of my posts was flagged as spam or plagiarism, so I can avoid doing that in the future? And if I haven't done anything irreparable, please unblock my account.

I have searched through the report AI and plagiarism thread. I can't find where your profile was reported. Maybe your thread was directly reported to moderators and I can't even find any disagreeing statement on the now deleted thread, or there is something which is not visible to me. Others can search or moderators could also state the reason for your ban.

If someone had reported me directly to a moderator, it would mean I had offended someone, but I wasn't arguing with anyone - I was just chatting as usual, answering the questions people asked me.

At first, I thought there was a mistake, but it seems you've modified the URL for a phishing link, which warrants a ban.

No one gets banned by the mods for just having an argument with other users especially if it's not one that's towards life threatening path. @acroman08 have captured out the specific reason for your ban, and you do know the risk of a phishing URL link, a thing the forum is vehemently up against, so your ban seemed legitimate.

What we don't know is if the phishing link was deliberate or in error but that would be very difficult to defend considering how phishing links don't commonly add up in threads on its own. Hope you learn your lesson now.

What phishing links are you talking about? The site doesn't contain any phishing links. Why would I even do that?

I don't believe a moderator will ban an account without any reason. You are acting innocent now, but you have edited it with links that look suspicious. Also, the report Virus Total shows a scam; hence, the moderator has taken the action. I don't have hope of getting back the account from the ban. Let's see if the moderator responds to your appeal thread.

And in your opinion, is the "login/register" option a clear sign that the site is a phishing site?
This is necessary for exchange owners (to add an exchange and calculate cashback). If you looked closely, you'll see that an email address isn't even required to register. If you just want to choose a favorable exchange rate, registration isn't required.

I think if your file does not contain Malware, Malicious and Phishing, you should check the whole thing after becoming a website. But there your website is detected dangerous by VirusTolal, which has been believed to be able to detect something dangerous.

Here the moderators are not inexperienced, they have been doing their job for many years so I think they have done their job well.

Virustotal can give false positive result but if there is high chance of positive findings, moderators would choose a safer action, ban the account and trash the post. It's unsafe to let such posts existing in the forum community because there are possible bad impacts on community if the positive results are actually correct (not false positive).

Virustotal can be wrong, a moderator who banned the account can be wrong too, but if there are no convincing evidence and reasons for lifting the ban on that account, a second chance will not be given.

I don't think anyone looked into it; I wasn't notified - they just banned me. As for the files, you can download all the scripts from the website yourself and scan them for viruses.

No you don't have to offend someone on the forum before your posts can be reported.
Posts can be reported as inappropriate that goes against the community rules. Perhaps it could be because of Plagiarism or scamming.
For a user to report such posts doesn't really mean that you stepped on them personally, they just have to do it in other to keep the forum clean and sage from potential threats which could set other users at risks in one way or the other.
This doesn't mean you've personal issues with the user that reported the post.

The Mods don't owe you any explanation at this point, and if you still want to pretend like you don't know what you did, then I'm glad you got banned in the first place.

1. It is necessary so that the exchange owner can add their service to the website, establishing a connection between them.
2. It is used to credit cashback.
