It's already happening and even we don't see that way right now, soon we'll see more of the impact of how these industries will adopt the nature workforce with the use of AI tools.

The sad truth that many of these white collar jobs can be replaced by AI and I guess that the natural laborer skills that are being done will take time to get replaced by it.

Like plumbing, electrician, etc.
It's truly eye opening how people thought the blue collar, manual labourers are the one getting replaced by AI and yet the white collar jobs are the one getting replaced first.
Companies are already forcing their worker to train AI and to replace them in the future, the worker can't refuse because they are getting paid to do that thing.
It's sad that they get to train what's going to replace them in the nearest future. And so, even if they're paid to do that I am sure that these workers understood the situation.

These technical tasks are complex and relative. A pipe leakage can be caused by different factors that a robot might find it difficult to fix. Jobs like plumbing and electrical work require human reasoning to accomplish. Developing a robot that will carry out these tasks will be expensive, so some businesses might not be able to afford it.

But white-collar jobs are usually repetitive tasks which could be easily replaced by machines. I have always told my students to gain technical skills even as they pursue a professional career.
Robots that have been made can do the repetitive and easy tasks but for the complicated ones, they're not tasked to do that.

And that's why these complicated jobs and skills are unlikely to get replaced even with the emergence of AI but they might also learn it later.

It is said that 8000 jobs represents like 10% of Meta's workforce. I was guessing this could happen when we saw the news that Meta is building an AI that will help their workers. But after few weeks, this is what we have seen.

https://finance.yahoo.com/sectors/technology/articles/meta-cut-8-000-jobs-125254890.html

I do not see it as job loss though, I see it as a job loss that is replaced by another job vacancy elsewhere like in AI businesses or in modern day employment.
It is sad but true that currently various mega organizations are laying off their employees only on the basis of AI technology-based work. Especially, companies are busy with how to achieve more production and work efficiency in a short time. We will naturally accept that Artificial Intelligence is basically more efficient and production label than human work. So companies will want to get more production from this point of view, they are giving priority to AI and are going to take steps like laying off employees.

I have been reading lately about the constant fight between AI and labour, based on the fact that now the AI cost seems not to be so competitive with human labour. Microsoft had to cut spending on tokens, as they almost instantly depleted the yearly budget.
Presumedly the cost of the Tokens would rise to match the cost of the human labour it's going to substitute, making this kind of layoff more difficult.
