Spin.io Stole My $710 Deposit After Only 6 Tennis Bets

What happened:
Spin.io confiscated my entire balance after only 6 tennis bets. After I passed verification and sent all documents, they stole both my winnings ($181) and my full original deposit ($710). Their reason - "advantage play".

Additional Notes:  
Only 6 tennis bets total (5 ITF Women + 1 French Open Qualification)  
4 wins, 2 losses  
Almost all profit ($175 out of $181) came from one bet on French Open (Roland Garros) - one of the most liquid Grand Slam markets  
No bonuses, no arbitrage, no software used  
Their odds provider(Betby) accepted all my stakes and settled every bet without any problems. Yet Spin.io still chose to confiscate my full deposit and winnings.

Even though Spin.io does not actively advertise or run an official thread here on BitcoinTalk yet, I felt it was my duty to warn the crypto community about Spin.io predatory practices before they scam anyone else here.

Looks like a fairly new casino. Did they launch just this month? I can't find any other details about them in this forum.
It seems they do have a page in CasinoGuru, so you might want to file a complaint there; maybe they can help mediate and resolve your problem.

AFAIK CasinoGuru mostly handle complaints about slots and casino games, or at least that used to be the case.

Advantage play, lol, how convenient for them to just put it that way, confiscate everything and move you on, crazy pattern for casinos these days. If they felt you were getting a few over them and they don't want you on their platform anymore, the right thing to do is let you withdraw your funds, then close your account.

That said, good to create awareness about this, though since they are not on the forum, you cannot get any solution here. Do give us updates when you make a report in CG. You can also report this in AskGamblers too.

don't keep your hopes up, anjouan gaming board is pretty much useless, they will just tell you to take it up with the casino directly or with a third party ADR.

exactly, confiscating his deposit is theft and is a scam. the industry norm is to pay up wins then limit the account after, or even if wins get voided for "advantage play", they need to refund his deposit.

Most time I wonder how you guys do came across these sites because to me I do not think I would be that Open to go used those site that are not mainly being advertised here or being posted over here. The reason is that people would have to rate them whether they are doing bad or good they would have to post them and if there is any shedy activity they would easily expose them or even given them trust ratings for their ill activities. Next I wouldn't mind encouraging you to use sites that are often advertised here.

While it is true to play in more "popular" crypto casinos, like some of the platforms running campaigns in this forum, but that doesn't still mean you cannot be in the same situation as the OP if you use them. Even platforms that very popular do this, imagine what BC.Game did all the years they were in this forum, confiscating funds and taking peoples money with impunity.

This is true and we can't be that certain on the casino that wouldn't confiscating people funds, although I have never experience what op is saying from casinos because I don't chase their bonus, or even ref neither do I try to meet up with any of their free offers, most times all these could be the cause why most people usually find it difficult on their accounts to make withdrawal so easily because some of these casinos are too sensitive, some of those things that leads to this problem could be abused of bonus, having multiple accounts and so on.
In most cases the accuser could be right, taking a look at the site he made mentioned to me it's the first time I am hearing about them so I wouldn't be surprised if that is coming from them.

the most effective solution is for gamblers to stop playing on casinos who do stuff like this, and only gamble on casinos that would respect you as a player. vote with your wallet kinda thing.
the other is for regulators to stop sitting on their asses and start passing laws that would protect players, and i think we are heading there with everything turning into a casino nowadays.

If their terms don't clearly define what they mean by advantage play in a sportsbook context, they may not even have grounds to void your deposit.

I've never dealt with Anjouan before, but my previous experiences with Curaçao were pretty successful. So it might not be as hopeless as it seems. But so far the casino is completely silent

Anyway, I think the site is totally new gambling site and do not want to invest for such a site whether they are good for us or not. Totally true. I also always wonder where and how people find those super new sites and then even decide to deposit significant amopunts of money which they then ave to chase after.
Can't even find on google when this casino was founded but thei X profile was created like 6 months ago, which means it really is super new.
Their odds provider is the same old trouble maker betby, their are notorious for accusing players of "advantage betting" and other nonsense. So yeah, that's where the main problem will lie, betby.

It seems you really don’t visit the scam accusation board regularly, even some casino that are advertising here are still being accused of same thing, so it’s not about a casino being or advertising here, we have seen some big casino who has been in this forum for a very long time turning to scam companies by scamming majority of their customers.
The only advice I give to gamblers is that use the money you can afford to lose to gamble, I have lost some money in some casino and I have never contacted their customer service because i really don’t give a fuck about the money since is something I can afford to lose, but the only thing I have not experienced is winning huge amount of money and they refused to pay me I guess I have always been lucky.
So the point is deposit the money you can freely afford to lose on any casino be it new casino or old one.

I know that it is easy to say to this but even if it is the money that you can afford to lose, it still hurts.
There will always be casinos with very poor reputation that will not care so much for their customers and obviously many people will still keep having a bad experience with them because they do not do their due diligence.

 This is for the OP, if you want to bet or gamble, only do so at reputable online crypto casinos and you can find them here or even ask and you will get a list of the tested and trusted ones.

Not much has happened in the past three weeks.
The casino replied to me only once, and it looked like a generic AI response https://i.ibb.co/gb800nVm/image.png. Anjouan Licensing Services Inc. hasn’t responded at all.
I was probably too optimistic comparing this situation to my previous experiences with Curacao-licensed casinos - they at least never completely ignored my complaints.

For now, it unfortunately feels like a dead end.

Spin.io finally answered in their promotional thread.

They admitted that confiscating the original deposit is “harsh”, but claimed they need to do it as a punishment, otherwise players will just “do the same thing again with no risk” (whatever that means).

Still won’t say which exact T&C rule I broke. Still holding the $710 deposit + winnings.

I know it looks harsh, like I also told rxdtrip but there is more information that meets the eye although I dont want to share it in a public forum. Happy for a mediator to take a look and see what he/she thinks.

With the information given to us from the provider and checks we did, and the T&C that we are abiding with we are confident its the right call. People make mistakes too though, so if we did wrong here we are happy to amend but for now we stand by our decision.

Everything on my side is already public in the complaint thread - bet history, deposits and emails. You can send him whatever evidence you have.

My position is the same: I just want the original $710 deposit returned.

Hopefully holydarkness can review it and we can wrap this up.

I'll take these statements as written agreement to a binding ADR attempt made on CH. Know that with this, both parties agreed that they will not seek other resolution attempt from other ADR to gain other verdict, and that my words is final and both parties has to bow to it. My words for both will be that I stake my reputation to mediate as fairly as I can, based on what I witnessed.

Like before, in my attempt to integrate CH as reliable and transparent ADR that is walking side-by-side with the forum, I am open for discussion regarding the verdict made. However, the call has been rubberstamped and can't be changed, at least not in the future that I can see of, unless an incredible circumstance happens.

To give context, for those who read the case on CH, I asked twice whether or not VPN is involved. It is not because VPN is prohibited or not, rather because evidence submitted by Spin [private details are omitted from me, so rest assured that they still honor privacy policy] showed two different countries by complainant, that its accuracy is confirmed by player as he acknowledged the use of proxy for his browsing activity.

With that confirmed, the casino's defense that the player played from restricted teritory, of which, as per a quick google search, it is also confirmed that the player violated their term [which worded very beautifully, if I may say, as it shift the burden of restricted country from their side, like usual casino does, to the players]:
