Most business people can easily relate with this because if you're earning daily or weekly, You will think waiting till the end of the month before your next pay is too long. But then, gambling is not a regular job and so, you can't compare your earnings through gambling to what's the case with a regular business person.

No matter how exciting a particular lifestyle is, if it's interfering with your source of income, You don't need a prophet before you put an end to it. If after gambling I loose interest in my job, I will rather stop gambling completely rather than risk loosing my job at the end.

This is very true, but not true for everyone, but true for people that are already addicted to gambling. I guess your cousin is addicted to gambling or has once before been addicted to gambling which is what he is telling you to learn from. Gambling can be good, but for those that are addicted, it is very bad.

You are really correct, some people can gamble once in a while, just for entertainment and still have control over their money, time and responsibilities but the real danger start when gambling move from being fun to addiction. Just like you said, the cousin sounds like someone who has experience in gambling addiction, or he has been in that stage before. Personally, my relationship with time changed my gambling, not other way around.

And i doubt it's the gambling that affects anyone's relationship with time. More likely it's depression or ADHD etc, because people with those are attracted to gambling. It's just easier to blame social media, gambling, watching tv or anything else, when real reasons are hard coded into you and reason you get stuck with anything that gives you dopamine.

Not that i am saying that they don't have a problem with gambling. I am saying that it's not because of gambling. It's a bad combination of gambling and how their brains are wired. These people are better off doing something else that gives them meaning and joy. But ultimately, they need to do some reflecting, because if it's not gambling that brings them problems, it's going to be something else that replaces it.

But a sad thing is that many people do not want to understand that in gambling, there is actually a greater chance of losing than winning. And because of this lack of understanding, they often have to face very big losses. The gambler has to be very careful here, it is very easy to lose control here, and there is a greater chance of losing than winning. So if there is no mental control here, then the possibility of loss is very high.
