Don't PM for merit, no magic tricks for earning merits: advice for forum newbies

Sending unnecessary PM's likoe this is totally unaccepted but from the message he sent he asked a question out of curiosity probably because he is a newbie. He wasn't being entitled in anyway or trying to beg for merits, he simply wanted to know how he could earn more merits.

For the fact that he didn't beg like some ridiculous people do shows his willingness to learn. One thing that slows a lot of newbies down is thinking too much about how to get merits, instead of improving on the quality of their posts by reading and gaining more knowledge they allow themselves to get frustrated by lack of merits.

Like you said, there are no magic tricks to earn merits, you must work on making quality posts, this is what attracts merits, even though the Merit system has changed it doesn't mean that it is impossible to get it.

Obviously, many newbie members don't have the patience to wait to get merits through their regular activity on the forum, through learning and gradual personal growth, and they try to find a shortcut.

The reason it is annoying to see newbies talk about merits is that many of them just want to rank up quickly so they can join campaigns and start earning. They are not ignorant of the benefits of ranking up; they already knew about all of these before they registered their accounts. If you see real newbies, you would know that they are truly newbies because it would show in their ignorance.

It is more annoying when they start creating misleading posts to draw attention for merits. I doubt that some of them are aware of the forum rules. Newbies should act like newbies, and they will have fewer issues with older forum members. Newbies learn and do research, not become so desperate for merits, positive trust, and other things they should not struggle for.

You're absolutely correct. Many young people nowadays don't want to put in much hard work in what they does, they always want positive outcome as quick as possible. And to be honest things aren't done that way especially on forum. However, pursuing financial benefits or gains shouldn't be the main reason of joining the forum because for a user to see it as his main reason  will make him or she miss out in a whole lot of other benefits that's worth more than what he thinks. Knowledge they say is power, let not jeopardize our chances of equipping ourselves with knowledge that can last us till enternity to some kinda temporary gains (peanut) that can only serve us for the main time.

What you said is the major reasons why newbie hunts for merit...And if you check very well, their's no newbie in the forum anymore...Most of newbie in the forum are some people's alt, that's why they're serious in hunting for merit, so that it will enable them to sign in into signature campaigns faster.. Someone who doesn't know about signature can't be desperate to earn merit..I could remember when I joined bitcointalk newly, I was busy reading in most of the sections to enable me to understand the system, but now most of newbies knows everything about the forum..

Success requires hard study and work, without that there are no results.
The forum members, who have been here for a long time, understand very well all the benefits of this forum, and these are not only signature campaigns and some other projects where you can earn money, but also information and news about different crypto projects, networking, getting to know the crypto community, live meetings, even the opportunity to meet the owners of different crypto companies and get a specific job and much more.
I feel sorry for all those who only focus on signature campaigns and merits because if they invested their time in studying these other things, they would get much more from this forum.
But as someone said, many of these newbie members are obviously very well aware of the importance of merits, it seems even before they register on this forum, and they've already decided what the only thing they want from this forum is.

Perhaps, they're actually not new members just as they appear to be, majority will be people's alt which is crazy. Because their is no way a real newbie will be that desperate in getting merits instead of concentrating on learning and gaining knowledge since that's was he's initial purpose of joining the forum.

This can also be seen in their writing style or how they interpret problems. But it's also possible that some are correct. If they read a lot and follow crypto or related developments and there's something they don't understand, it's natural for them to be curious and motivated to ask questions or want to provide answers or thoughts they believe they know. I think that's normal.

Still there is nothing wrong about guiding them but a direct point to seek a merit is a big no of course.

Just my observation recently is some of the newbies are into hurry too much to get rank up until Full member others wanted to join and participate immediately in the campaign but if these newbies agenda is for the sake of money in the campaign this could be the reason why they get stuck up in their rank. They now focused with the merits to rank up and they did not focus with their journey through out learning. Ive seen some new accounts starts from zero and now seen them like a 100+ merit because of the quality of knowledge they bring and share in the community.
