It depends on the person, the reason I posted I hope he can afford to lose it. Some people might save up small amount of money over a period of them, in a way it can become fairly high. And it can be for a specific purpose like maybe to be used to gamble for world cup. I have saved $10 weekly before until it become big. It was like that because I did not have time for gambling for a long time. It was I for gambling, but when it became huge, I withdrew it instead.

Nope this kind of events is not usual and each team will have a different observation on their opponent in short its hard to analyze the potential outcome for the games unless your betting on your team alone and supporting it all the way without thinking of the results. In a tournament like FIFA bettors will likely bet on their own country regardless whether the odds not favor them cause thats how an international sports works.

I don't really see any need to set aside funds just for the world cup, let alone a large amount.  I would gamble in it as normal, within my capacity and monthly budget. The more fun would come from watching the matches and seeing my favorite stars performance of which I would be doing from viewing centers. I would not gamble on every match, neither would I watch all, I only gamble of matches which drives my interest. Right now I don't see myself thinking of any strategy, until the competition ensures and I see from their performance if there is need to adapt to any based on my observation.

No special preparation for me. Almost all football leagues will be closing very soon. The only major football tournament will be the World Cup. So my budget would be channeled to the World Cup. Some lowly placed nations will be competing in this world. I might try to take some risks by betting on them to win some high-ranking countries. Betting on underdogs usually has high odds which could lead to big wins. Betting on Haiti, Scotland, or Cape Verde to win against Spain might be worth it.

Spain is the clear favorite along with France, England and Argentina. Personally I would like to see Portugal lifting the World Cup, or Argentina repeating their feat once again.

To set out a fixed amount for this event is not a problem but the problem is when you set out the amount that you can not afford to lose and also when you set out this amount from this moment and then later on you refuse to go according to the bankroll rules that you have made for yourself. Forcing yourself to bet on every match just for the sake of doing it does not sound like something "exciting", it sounds like you are building an addiction. To have real entertainment you are supposed to bet whenever you feel like it under the strict regiment of your bankroll management and discipline. Someone who is like that may not bet at all during a big event, because why would they? These things are not important, and if you assign them artificial importance you will only hurt yourself. Watch the games that you like, bet on those that you consider worthwhile and if you don't really feel like betting on any game then do not fucking force yourself to bet on games.

This is the way. Really these events are completely meaningless, but many people make it into their identity because they have boring and empty lives. I think I'll participate on some prediction contests like guessing the actual pool of countries that will make it to the final 32 or 16 and then also predict the actual champion, that has been what I did last FIFA World Cup. I thunk whatever is random on my budget during that time that's what I'll tty to bet into, it's so early to set something like that considering you'll never know what future holds. I think I'll stick to countries that has the best players in the planet, probably France once again or Spain.

Let's say I partially agree with what you claim, the World Cup in betting is monotonous, the matches are elimination matches and are also more difficult to "decipher" the matches anyway.
However, it's always an opportunity for gamblers; the fun is essentially the adrenaline rush of betting, or if your national team is playing, it's otherwise monotonous.
