In this modern world, the word trust is sometimes overlooked. People are investing not because they have seen the reason to trust that certain asset or investment but because they get easily convinced with the successful stories they often hear from those who have made such huge investments.  In short, they get deceived from those unproven words or testimonies.

You are right, most of the bitcoin investors do not trust bitcoin that's why its easy for them to leave and throw bad words to bitcoin after losing from it. I'm talking about on the beginners point of view, not on those long term hodlers and long term traders of bitcoin.

Why would someone who doesn't believe in Bitcoin invest in it? You don't invest in something you don't believe in. How would you know if the price will go up or not? If they've invested based on hearsay, making money from it would be purely a matter of luck. You need to thoroughly research and educate yourself before investing in anything.
People usually take the easy way out. Even when investing, they act based on someone else's judgment. You're better off using your own judgment. Don't invest in something you don't trust just because someone else said so.

That is what just came to my mind how can someone invest in bitcoin without trusting it how can that be possible. All the people I no they don’t like bitcoin they are just confusing other not to invest in it but they can never invest too because some don’t have enough money to invest in bitcoin and they will do all there best to stop people that are interested to invest. Bitcoin is not something that you can be comparing or forcing someone to do. If you’re interested to invest in bitcoin you will look for knowledge and know how he goes so that you can understand better and know one can confuse you.
Even if there is such thing like that of those who own Bitcoin and yet they don't trust it I don't really believe if there is anything like that, owing Bitcoin when you don't trust it is more like a suicide mission because whatever that is happening around the market will get to affect your emotions at a very high volume and will greatly influence your investment decisions, if there are those that own Bitcoin and yet they don't trust the process I will advise that they don't really have to own Bitcoin as they have because they may likely not be patient enough to rightly benefit from it in full or the way they should.

I think most of the investors trust the technology and the concept of decentralization, but what they don't trust is the price stability and regulatory future. More likely, investors are most up to higher financial returns because of their uncontrollable greed, and because of that when the threat of volatility becomes visible, they start to experience losses and forget the fact why they are there investing in the first place.

Bitcoin owners do trust their bitcoin, but they don't trust the uncertainty of the market due to bitcoin's high volatility nature.

This is actually true, but not everyone tho,
And I will consider those sets of individuals as traders and not investors. Investors has a long term mind set, so I don't expect anyone investing in Bitcoin to be carried away by short term volatility/ups and downs of the Bitcoin market. Nevertheless this emotions of green and red might still pass by but what is important is to stick to your long term goals

That's what you get if you believe FUD and don't put your faith in Bitcoin. These people usually fall victim to influencers or content that says positive things about Bitcoin, and then they're driven by FOMO to buy. They only focus on the fact that Bitcoin is bullish, so they flock to buy.

But they don't understand that Bitcoin is an asset that tends to be volatile and the market can drop at any time. Holders who understand Bitcoin’s volatility won't let it bother them --- instead, they see it as a discount to buy more. Those FOMO-driven people will inevitably sell at a loss, and then scream that Bitcoin is a scam.

The problem with Bitcoin is not that it is not backed by anything. It is definitely a strange problem. Although Bitcoin supporters insist that it is not backed by real money it does not actually work that way. The logical analysis can be very large so I am not going to dwell on that so for now I consider Bitcoin as the best currency to invest in.
Bitcoin being backed up by real money? That's not necessarily currently some measure of the value of Bitcoin based on how much power and resources it costs to mine 1 Bitcoin, while others base the value on demand; as long as people see value in it, then it's valuable, just like other assets out there are considered valuable. Some people's problem is not because of what's backing it up but because it's out of their control.

Many people say they believe in Bitcoin, but I think most of them only believe in green candles. Once the market starts pumping, everyone suddenly becomes a long term investor. They start talking about decentralization, financial freedom, and how Bitcoin is the future.... But let the price drops down 20%, that same conviction disappears. Fear replaces belief, and “long term holders” start looking for the exit Lol

That always makes me wonder.... do these people actually trust Bitcoin? Caus I wouldn't buy something this volatile without trusting it.

Real conviction shouldn't depend on green candles. If your belief disappears with volatility, it was never really a belief... it was just excitement.
I'll always say this, Bitcoin does not test your intelligence first, it tests your patience.

Many of the people who call themselves investors are not holding Bitcoin, they are just holding hope that someone else will buy it higher.

what's your opinion
People approach Bitcoin with different mindsets. Some see it as a hedge against inflation, some see it as a powerful tool to protect their wealth from the depreciation of the local currency. Some see it as a store of value. Some see it from a trading perspective, while others see it as a long-term investment asset. Everyone here is right from everyone's perspective because not everyone has the same ideology. Most people come here mainly to profit from price movements. What's the problem if the goal is only profit-centric? Being confident when the price goes up, panicking when the price goes down is a normal human reaction, no matter how much one believes in its technology or has proper knowledge and confidence about it.

Technological access is certainly geographical so Bitcoin exposure is naturally where you say it is but I daresay that Bitcoin's idea is valued more ideologically or philosophically in places where necessity for an alternative was what brought people to Bitcoin. We're still talking very few people and communities in the end, of course.

I agree, you just have to look at the example of some African countries like Nigeria where Bitcoin is quite popular judging by the number of members present on the forum. I think they use it more as a currency, while in the US it is far more popular as an investment because that is how their mainstream media presents it.

Unfortunately, as a currency, Bitcoin still has a strong weight of volatility and the only way for merchants to accept it is through payment processors. But I think the biggest problem is that very few people want to pay with it, we've seen that in many examples in the past - remember Boracay Island and how the BTC adventure ended there?

There is some truth to that, especially when it comes to new investors who enter the market believing that Bitcoin will make them rich very quickly. But in reality, it doesn’t work like that. You can benefit from Bitcoin in the long term, but for that you need to understand how Bitcoin works, you need to understand its cycles and the nature of both bear and bull markets.

If an investor understands all of this, they won’t sell their Bitcoin during the very first correction. But if they don’t understand it and came only for quick money, then they will sell just as quickly as they bought, they will sell at a loss and then tell everyone else that Bitcoin no longer works.

Tbh I won't hold or put my hard earn money in something I don't trust . Firstly to earn money ain't easy, so if it was me of then I would have been under the category (of holding bitcoin without trusting it ).

That's the reason why I will keep accumulating and holding for as long as I can , as an investor you should know what you are getting yourself into , when come to venturing into a business or investing , the really many don't trust Bitcoin is because they don't really understand how Bitcoin works that's why many kept painting Bitcoin like those other altcoins which is wrong .

You are just babbling, because I don’t see any point in all what you said. How can someone invest on what he is afraid of? Or are you talking for yourself? Or did you mean does that invest in bitcoin due to FOMO?

All I will say is that people who are longtime investors and know what investment mean will fear nothing, unless if you don’t believe in cryptocurrencies. Those that knows cryptocurrencies for while now has seen what they have gained. That is why, if you really want to gain big in bitcoin, you are advised to go on a longtime investment not going after quick profit.

So, if you think other people are cautious of their investment because bitcoin is very volatile, I will classify those people as new investors of bitcoin, and don’t even know how this thing works. They need more knowledge before they even invest, because bitcoin is not what you will just go into casually, as scammers and hackers are always active and such people might be a victims.
Did you know that cryptocurrency includes so many coins? If others have some trust in shitcoin or altcoin my self i don't trust them and i can't also invest in them because they are not bitcoin. Bitcoin is something that is volatile so there is all possibilities that it's going to increase and also decrease in price so investors who knows all this and also investing with their discretionary income wouldn't be in fear or panic when the price of bitcoin starts to decline in price.

I don’t think you understand what I am saying; that is why you are asking me these questions. I know in my first sentence I talked about cryptocurrency, and I know what I mean, but the main discussion was on Bitcoin. That is why I firstly discussed cryptocurrency, then came back to the main topic, which is Bitcoin. So, if you don’t read the main cause of the discussion, read it first before you quote anyone and start thinking you know the point.

That always makes me wonder.... do these people actually trust Bitcoin? Caus I wouldn't buy something this volatile without trusting it.
But they bought it, didn't they? That shows they trust it in the first place that's why they could use their hard earned funds to buy and decide to hodl it whether long or short term hodling it has to come with trusting what you're buying. Nobody spend money buying an asset they don't trust.
Bitcoin is a volatile crypto asset and from time to time we would always see those fluctuating prices and investors would always show some emotions both in green or red candles periods, all of that doesn't mean a lack of trust but calculation on what should put them in profit. At the end we're all buying bitcoin because of the profits to be made and nothing more really seriously attached except for it's decentralize nature that does also serve as a reason for it use for many out there.

How about they believe that Bitcoin green candle will come? This was their believe before they bought it, they strongly believe that Bitcoin is the most demanding digital asset in the world, that's enough reason to buy and wait for green candle, what is the crime in this?

Everyone is free to buy Bitcoin for their own reasons, and no matter what the reason might be, Bitcoin always settles everyone, some people are long term holders since 2018, they are very rich today because they hold Bitcoin.

Every human on the surface of the earth don't have to do the same thing, we are human beings and we will always have different reasons and different ideas for everything, this is pretty normal.

If you stay in the forum long enough and visits the speculation board more often, you will discover that there are people that have been consistent with Thier believe on bitcoin right from the times that bitcoin was down below $40k to when it got to the last ATH and right back to this point, there view on bitcoin has not changed.

Those that own bitcoin and that don't trust it are likely those that where pushed into investing in bitcoin by mere statement of friends and never really believed in bitcoin from start. If you're an enthusiast that has been in the bitcoin ecosystem for long, regardless of the short term movement if bitcoin, it wouldn't fret you at all.

I think when it comes to investment trust works hand in hand with profit, the amount of profit u stand to get improves ur trust for it, this is the perspective of 70% of Bitcoin holders, that is why most times Volatility acts as a massive filter that separates speculators from actual holders. Most people are addicted to the price action, not the fundamentals of decentralization. If your thesis changes just because the market is red, then your thesis was entirely based on hype. Real belief requires understanding the asset enough to stay calm when everyone else runs for the exit, now just less than 30% understands that.

You are right. In fact, those who want to do short-term trading buy Bitcoin depending on the price of this Bitcoin. If someone wants to be successful in Bitcoin, then they have to get out of the thought of buying Bitcoin by making price predictions. If you keep a long-term mind set and do DCA, the chances of success are highest. In the past, when the price of Bitcoin fell, many people sold Bitcoin by highlighting the negative aspects. But those who wanted to hold for a long time were the ones who succeeded. Bitcoin investors have to be mentally patient and have to gain financial capacity. Financial capacity means that they must have discretionary income. This is more important to start investing. But those who start investing with the wrong fund cannot stick to the long-term goal. They are forced to sell Bitcoin in the future.

In a same market, investment and trading have different challenges and necessary conditions to survive and succeed. In general, it's more comfortable to do investment and more easily to get profit from long term investment while with trading, it's more short term focus with considerable more challenges like market volatility and psychological instability for traders.

Trading requires more time spent in the market for active trading, more stress and it's harder for traders to control their emotion and psychology while with investors, they can ignore short term volatility which partially helps them to get rid of stress from emotional and psychological challenges.

Op even though I know that some people are long term hodler in writing but not in real life, I want ask if you have the percentage of that doesn't trust Bitcoin, you said many and with what I know about that word many, I think you're talking about large numbers although not a certain number, mate some Bitcoiners react quickly to the market condition reason best known to them but you should know that some of these persons are either newbies or invetsors that are not long-term investors, I'm sure you know that there are long and short term investors, some peoples decisions may not be because they trust Bitcoin, the trust might be there but we don't know how long they planned to hodl.
You have to know that people must panic, not every investor is patient enough to wait but that doesn't mean that they don't trust the market.

Pretty much agree. Bull market everyone's a hardcore maximalist preaching decentralization, but the moment we get a 20% pullback those same people are suddenly "rebalancing" and looking for the fiat exit. Real conviction is what's left after months of red candles.

As I have already said before, true bitcoiners are those staying and holding after at least a 4-year bull-and-bear market period.
