Guys, I just started seeing this warning on Chrome regarding the HTTPS connection to bitcointalk.org:

http://www.picamatic.com/view/8116068_bitcointalk_ssl_problem/

What could this be? Is anyone else also having the problem?
Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Well, judging from the error message, what that usually means is that the pictures on the page aren't encrypted, which is fairly common as it saves on server resources and bandwidth.

It's probably chrome being over-cautious.

I've not tested it in chrome myself because I don't really like it that much, so maybe someone else will come along and tell you if they have the same issue.

Also, I imagine that clicking the "What do these mean?" button may provide you with similar info...

Note (slightly unrelated):
On a personal note, I hate applications that give vague error/warning messages.. "There is some problem somewhere" doesn't help you fix the problem or know if it's safe to continue anyway... So if anyone develops any apps, please have helpful error messages. (As a developer it's a 'pet peeve' of mine)

I thought about images too, but now the warning went away (certificate is OK), and I checked that the page has images served over HTTP. So it must have been something else.

Seems like the problem is solved now, though. By the way, I noticed bitcoin.org serves as HTTP. Why? I think it should be HTTPS-only, considering it provides software that deals with money.

It appears on pages with embedded external images. It's normal and nothing to be concerned about.
