What is the alternative to hide Bitcointalk URL on public

Is there any possibility to hide the site URL where by even if you are accessing the forum publicly people wouldn't have to peep from the site to know that site you are active.

Let say; they would only see that area where you are only making your post without them looking above to know the site you are using

I have also tried to change my phone screen guard to privacy but when my screen resolution is high they could easily capture the site you are accessing, to an extent I have reduced my phone brightness yesterday the person at my back still keep peeping my phone to know what I am doing. Although here where I am currently is actually highly populated where can't it hide from the next person. Went out to watch live match that was just concluded, I mean Arsenal 2 v 1 crystal palace.

Please is there solution to hide the url that keep displaying on the top.  I have not actually tried with other browser to know if they have that feature where you would be accessing a site and no one would have chance.

I don't know of any features to hide the URL, but one thing I can tell you is even if you hide it, that still won't solve your privacy concern; the Bitcoin forum is still boldly displayed up there. If you are feeling less secure, only attend to the forum at your own comfort; it's not something to rush or force yourself to attend to when you are not in a comfortable place.

I believe what the OP is trying to hide is not just the avatar and username but the entire forum URL so that nobody close to him will know which site he's accessing, kind of hiding information from others about what he's doing or where he's doing it.

Or you can get Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and enable the feature, the phone has the privacy feature. I think more phones companies will also be adding the feature to their phone.

If it is just to hide the URL, use Via browser. It will only display text like the topic title or the name of the board you are and not URL.

I am not actually looking at to hide those things but the most important part which I need is to make url link looks so hard to be easily noticeable. Of course I have a privacy screen guard which also help me reduce to how quickly someone could pick up anything from phone screen. At least there should be a limits to how offen peep what you are doing on your phone and I sincerely find that really annoying for the next person to view what I am doing with my phone without my permissions.

But anyways , thanks for sharing this one maybe those who are facing issues related to what you posted could easily get what they need here.

Have you used one before? Probably it is fake or inferior. I have told my brother before that how come I do not see what is on his phone when he is using it? He told me he used privacy screen protector for it. He said he bought it for that reason. You will not be able to see anything on the phone from the side view if you get the good one.

Buy it from a trusted seller. Make sure you explain what you want to the seller, and tell the seller to put it on your phone for you and test it to know if it is good or not, but make sure you told the seller that this is what you want and let him give you assurance that it is before he opens the screen protector.

Bitcointalk doesn't support PWA (Progressive Web App) so using Chrome's "add to home screen" will still show your url

The most practical option I know is using Kiwi browser or Brave on Android. They have this feature that allows you force any site into standalone web app when you add it to your home screen. If you do, the top URL bar will become invisible when you open either of the apps from the home screen. Edit: I forgot to add that you'll still get a full screen view of the site

Maybe not fully, but it's really effective. I'm telling from experience. One of my rich friend uses it on his iphone, and i swear i could never see what he was doing. Not to this day. You must lean towards him at a certain angle to be able to get a better view at what he is doing, but doing so, you will expose yourself and he'll notice you instantly, that's how effective it is. As for you I'm not sure what sort of privacy screen protector you have used, but i don't think it's a good one. Better one are what you see at samsang phones..similar effects//

On a desktop, I'd just press F11 to go full screen. But on mobile, isn't it enough to just scroll down a bit to hide the URL from view?

I haven't used those for phones, but I've seen them for laptops. It basically turns a high quality screen with large viewing angles into a screen with terrible viewing angles, so you can only see it if you're right in front of it.

When you say "url link" I assume you are actually trying to hide the address bar in your browser so people around you cannot see what website you are looking at.  This is not really a Bitcointalk forum issue; it is more about your browsers settings.

Which web browser you are using?  A lot of modern mobile browsers, like Google Chrome, are set up to automatically slide the address bar out of view when you scroll down a page.  If yours isnt doing that, you could try reinstalling the app or clearing your browser cache to see if that fixes it.

However, you could also check out other browsers, like Vivaldi or Brave.  They often have options to keep the address bar hidden all the time or let you set it up just how you like.

Yes, I have a solution where even if you use the forum publicly, no one else will be able to see your URL bar. This means you can be active on any site by hiding the URL. And as you wanted, only the part of the post and the user will be visible. And you can use the URL completely hidden. In this, you can use any site and no one else will have the opportunity to see the URL of that site. For that, you need to install a "full screen browser" app called "Fully kiosk Browser & Lockdown" on your android. Then the steps are shown below:

After opening the "start URL" at the beginning, enter the address of Bitcointalk there and click the "start using fully" button. Then just log in to your account. After that, even if you are active on the Bitcointalk site, no one will be able to see your URL bar. It will look something like this:

Now, no matter which site you are active on, the URL bar will be hidden.

Yep, I don't see the point in hiding "bitcointalk.org" at the top if anyone can clearly see the entire website you're on, including the content you're reading.

I understand not wanting others to know who you are on bitcointalk, since that's basically self-doxing. It's why I wrote the small script

You need an extension that will replace every instance of bitcointalk.org on a page to whatever you want, like poormantalk.org.  Then just add an entry in your hosts file.

Looks like you need to minimize your phone usage while in the public not just about for privacy reasons of what you are browsing but for your own safety as well. If your main concern is the url bar, just putting down the notification panel regularly will hide those, do it when you think someone is looking your phone

I read all the suggestions and honestly I do not know what else to suggest to the OP regarding technical issues, since everything has already been said, but honestly.... I think that nothing will solve his problem because the person who is "snooping" will always be able to pick up a some detail or intuition about what is being accessed just by the paterns of the structure or by what is written at the page itself.

My opinion is the same as yours.... if the OP wants to hide what he is do online, then he should do it away from prying eyes.
In the same way that nobody walks around with money or wearing shiny jewelry at unsafe places, the OP should not mess with Bitcoin or related matters if I believe the environment where he is is not appropriate for it... this is the best way to stay safe.

I just heard that browser, does it have built in adblocker, plugins/extension supported too? Also, is the url bar still hidden after you scroll down or up?

Actually, i have thought on OP's concern even if the the url bar is hidden the content is not, so a simple search of like on the forum nav "Bitcoin Forum" will have an idea on what site/forum is OP is using. Just a thought.
