Bitcoin, being the only addiction everyone is permitted to have, because it gives you freedom and profitability at the end.

Do not be biased. Addiction is addiction, and it only brings harm rather than anything good.

Addiction means becoming so excessively obsessed with something that your life become unbalanced, and in the worst case, you almost lose control of yourself. Bitcoin addiction means you only care about it and neglect everything around you, from yourself to your family...So, do not let yourself fall into that state, whether it is bitcoin addiction, making money, or even to reading book. Instead, being passionate about Bitcoin is a much healthier approach.

btc addiction isn't excessive as btc prices will likely increase in the future. Those who are addicted to BTC, such as those who continually trade btc will undoubtedly reap the benefits. However, there are certainly risks involved, as investing in btc always carries risks

However, I think this topic is excellent, and it's certainly true that many people are currently addicted to btc, such as constantly buying bitcoin to accumulate it. Honestly, I'm currently addicted to buying btc and holding it for the long term. While BTC addiction is healthy, it's certainly not like drugs or cigarettes. However, the condition is that the money used to buy btc must be money you can afford to lose, or it must come from discretionary income
It may look rather intensive to foreign ear but when you do math, accumulation of Bitcoin consistently is highly disciplined financial practice.  To me, safety guardrail which you referred to income of discretion is what makes this habit healthy habit. Second one begins to invest his or her rent money, his or her bills, or grocery capital in Bitcoin, that good habit becomes dangerous gambling. Volatility will put your patience to months or even years, but you can only withstand mentally so long, unless you need that money in your daily living. Building wallet full of satoshis and saving with additional cash is not an addiction, but other clever and anticipating saving strategy that will pay tremendously big in long run.

Yes, I think it's a good financial healthy habit to accumulate bitcoins routinely, but I don't consider it addiction, as addiction tends to have a bad connotation. It would be more like disciplined investing to purchase BTC with additional income and hold on to it for a long time. The actual problem starts when people become too confident and begin using the money that is meant for paying rent. Bills or daily necessities. While Bitcoin is not without risks. It is important to maintain a balance between its volatility. Patience in piling the sats is good advice, but so is good money management always.

If you are addition to BTC and you have some money you want to be investing in BTC, let it be what you can afford to lose in BTC, because some have grow higher financially while some have collapse their wealth just that they invest wrongly. Anything you know you are not the founder and you are not the control of the market price, don't use what you are not comfortable in BTC investment, because anything can happen that will make you give up on BTC, but if you have the knowledge on how to endure whatever may happen it will help you to make coin that will make you great in the future.

To be addicted to BTC it require money and knowledge, because you will not give up whenever there is a loss or profit. But when you have small knowledge of BTC it will be easy for  you to be addicted to BTC, because BTC is the king among other cryptocurrencies and whenever the price of BTC is rising it will be easy for BTC investors to start earning profit from their investment.

Words like committed or passionate are also good fit to replace addiction in the context of bitcoin accumulation. Addiction like you rightly said almost making the routine look bad. It is even safer to say deeply committed or forming a habit, it will make more sense to every one. Disciplined investment too can as well be used maybe words very disciplined.

Bitcoin risk has been proven to be short-termed. As long as there is patience and this investment is deliberately done with decretory funds there is almost nothing to fear because on the long run every patience exercised will yield massive result depending on the investment strength.

I've always said it that not all addictions are bad, as there are positive addictions as well. There are a few of them, and of course, Bitcoin is one of them.

If you are addicted to Bitcoin, you are sure to be positively addicted to it, at least, judging by what Bitcoin has done so far. This is why I praise Bitcoin rather than those Bitcoiners that people idolise, because they would have failed woefully if Bitcoin is not true to its characteristic.
I think it's all a person's right and authority. Sometimes what they do always becomes the center of attention so they immediately say that what someone does is part of an addiction. However addiction has two sides positive and negative. This means that everyone can judge others by their behavior but not by their activities. Everyone sometimes does positive things while we often speak negatively about someone. What we need to address is whether our judgments must be wise especially since everything someone does sometimes has a positive effect on their addiction.

That's very appropriate. Someone who is addicted to something sometimes doesn't understand the process and purpose behind their actions. Especially as you mentioned regarding someone addicted to Bitcoin this is certainly part of a person's choice in dealing with their addiction. As far as we know Bitcoin addiction has more benefits when someone experiences it in-depth of course they become even more addicted making it a priority for the next stage.

There's a fine line between addiction and obsession. Your habitual behavior with your Bitcoin doesn't necessarily indicate addiction. Checking your Bitcoin wallet, discussing Bitcoin at every opportunity, and reading related news are all parts of an obsession. Subconsciously, you consider it a routine, and there are consequences if you abandon it (even if you can handle it).

Conversely, I have never heard anyone say they are addicted to exercise, addicted to helping other, or addicted to learning. Instead, it was replaced with words that have a more positive meaning, such as passion, enjoyment, or good habit.

In this case, saying passionate BTC, enjoys BTC, or having a habit of accumulating BTC sounds much more appropriate and accurate than addicted.
A positive addiction is a healthy, constructive behavior that you actively choose to pursue because it brings immense joy, mental strength, and well-being.

The concept of positive addiction, coined by William Glasser, entails that some addictions enhance our lives. He might be correct, but I have some reservations. Addiction makes one lose control over a behavior or habit that might not be totally good. If someone is addicted to investing in Bitcoin, they might end up using money that should be used for their family's needs to invest. He might even go to the extent of borrowing money to buy Bitcoin.

It is not wrong to be passionate about Bitcoin but there should be a form of control because moderation is important in all sphere of life.

Addiction in Bitcoin terms here shouldn't be treated as normal addiction when it comes to other things that people do like gambling, maybe you should try to understand him from the aspect of being used to Bitcoin daily bases than being addicted or getting a word to replace that addiction itself, however I think it is better that we understand that bitcoin is becoming part of Us from day to day activities.

I don't know why people think this way. It's like there's no better vocabulary to describe the benefits of Bitcoin. It's like someone saying "he has se* with pizza" when they could just say they really like pizza.

Addiction is still addiction, it doesn't have any positive effects. If you truly understand that Bitcoin can give you financial freedom and benefits, then explain it in more rational and understandable language, without using the term "addiction," which has such negative connotations.

Having an interest in Bitcoin should not be called an addiction. Rather, it can be called future financial security or financial freedom. And regularly learning about Bitcoin, discussing it, understanding security, and learning self-protection is not a waste of time. So it is difficult to call Bitcoin an "addiction". But it is a truth, nothing exaggerated is good. If someone spends all day watching price charts and worrying about fluctuations and wasting time, then I would be wary of that behavior.

Here it is again, Bitcoin, being the only addiction everyone is permitted to have, because it gives you freedom and profitability at the end.
I've always said it that not all addictions are bad, as there are positive addictions as well. There are a few of them, and of course, Bitcoin is one of them.

If you are addicted to Bitcoin, you are sure to be positively addicted to it, at least, judging by what Bitcoin has done so far. This is why I praise Bitcoin rather than those Bitcoiners that people idolise, because they would have failed woefully if Bitcoin is not true to its characteristic.
let’s be rational, what about days when you get old? Or scenarios that are rare like maybe bitcoin doesn’t hit as they expect it or maybe some bad scenario which is on the other side is not what we have in mind however what I’m saying is not that I wish all this to happen but then what if all this scenes happens so what will an addict do about it? This is one thing I think when making my consideration, I put both those that can happen and those that can’t happen before I say that addiction to bitcoin will be a good addiction even though that whatever have good has bad.

Speculation regarding the future of Bitcoin is a risk that every investor needs to consider. Any one of them could become addicted, but they must also realize that no one knows what awaits Bitcoin in the future. In fact in many places, one can easily find advice never to go "all in" on Bitcoin without carefully considering the potential risks of loss. So, as long as you operate within safe limits, it is unlikely that you will experience a severe setback.

I think I agree with you a little that addiction actually has a two ways which is either been positive or negative but in terms of bitcoin I think the only period of where bitcoin addiction will be a problem is only when the addicted person actually buys and doesn’t spends on his self like for a better life and later dies without enjoying a good life this isn’t a good addiction to me or also hides the keys from his family in such a way that the coins were lost after his death, this will be actually a negative addiction in my opinion.

But say he was accumulating even in his old days alone cannot be a negative one if the person lives a good life and the family were able to get hold of the coins later and used it for better use, this is positive addiction because the person was growing wealth for the family even at old age

You are right too, negativity can not be seen from one window but however considered both from others views which means that negative addiction of bitcoin could be concluded based on popular opinion but however it’s true that is you end up not using all the coins you stayed accumulating over time and then it use is useless to you and your family then it’s a negative addiction but however to widen what you have said I will add that the ability to know when to stop is also important even though yes we can accumulate as much as we want but whatever is overly done usually ends in bad terms , one could be accumulating without other things as diversification over time is anything happens to the wallet or something else then the whole bitcoin is gone just like that.

I've heard and read of it many times, and I've also made a debated topic on it on this forum before. However, as weirdly as it sounds, it's true, and some experts have used it before in their articles, though not common, it's real. Nonetheless, many has argued that though real, the best term to describe the act is not fitting for an "addiction," because the term itself is ill and feels negative, that the best way to describe such a positive addictive activity in gambling is High-Functioning Compulsive/High-Functioning Behavioural gambling. Whatever it means, it's still grammar in the end, isn't it? An addiction is an addiction, and I wonder how many people would understand it if I had used it...lol Cheesy

I want you to realize that anything that have advantages also have a disadvantages..Addiction is an addiction, anything you do, you dont have to do it over....let everything have a limit...Before it's said to be addiction..that means you're doing it excessive

Remember that anything we do excessive is not good....So as you emphasise on a positive addiction, their's nothing like a positive addiction, if such thing happens..that means it wouldn't have called addiction....

Bitcoin, being the only addiction everyone is permitted to have, because it gives you freedom and profitability at the end.
It is one of the addictions that everyone would make someone admit happily. Because it's about the gains and the lessons that it teaches. Someone who's not good in investing will become better eventually when he experiences how bad the market is, and how it's good in times. The freedom that it provides because of no central power it holds. No central banks will freeze the asset that we have. We're finally free from the chain of what they're promoting to save in the banks. Now, it's about saving in our own wallets and letting it stay there for years. We've seen the dormant accounts that are not being held and moved and yet recently woke up having sums in profit. Perfect example of decentralization and financial gain.

To be honest, I have never heard of the concept of positive addiction, and it sound pretty weird to me.

As many member have pointed out, addiction is often used in a negative context, and anything related to it carries a bad connotation. For example, alcoholism, gambling addiction, drug addiction

Actually, I did look into this concept myself, but the issue is that it was never officially recognized in psychiatric classification system. Many psychologists consider it an oxymoron. More importantly, because it is not recognized by mainstream medicine, and as we can see, it is rarely used widely in daily life. So as I said, terms like passion, habit, or enjoyment would be more appropriate when talking about Bitcoin

As GeorgeJohn said, anything taken to excess that disrupts our lives can never be a good.
Addiction is never a good thing.
