I have seen people get addicted to earning money, I mean fiat money. They work their ass off, invest almost everything they've got and have little or no time for themselves just so that they can make more money which in some cases, they do not give themselves the time to enjoy it.

Addiction is bad and I do not like it being associated with Bitcoin. You might think getting addicted to Bitcoin is good until you see yourself investing more than you can afford to lose just to accumulate bitcoins. Selling off everything you've got and putting yourself under pressure just to get bitcoins.

No one should get addicted to Bitcoin. Plan yourself very well, be consistent but do not over do it to the point you begining to feel pressured just because you love Bitcoin so much and want to have some.

I agree, anything extreme is dangerous.  Even being extremely generous is not good for people. That is why we should always balance everything.  Yes, agree that Bitcoin can possibly give us a good profit in the future, but we should not get addicted to the idea because if we did, we may find ourselves using all the money we have to invest in Bitcoin and never cashing it out, making us unable to support our basic needs.

I would not call it an addiction but on the other hand, I wish to say: you can never have too much of a good thing (which is untrue with almost all things - or as the great medical doctor and philosopher, Theophrastus Bombast von Hohenheim, or otherwise more commonly known as Paracelsus once said: The dose makes the poison)

But when it comes to having Bitcoin I can see no disadvantage of having more. Unless of course it is starting to negatively influence your life somehow (I cannot imagine how).

I always interpret addiction as excessive activity and I interpret it as something negative, this may depend on the context of what is meant by addiction according to the OP in the scale of the argument, but Bitcoin addiction without being supported by good financial knowledge then I think the good element will be reduced, we are also not just addicted to bitcoin is something good, many people fail also because their foundation is lacking in utilizing the advantages that bitcoin has.

Bitcoin should not be misused or treated with so much emotions. Addiction to Bitcoin would definitely mean more trading session, irrational decision making based on hype, and could cause more losses in one's Bitcoin journey. I wouldn't say it's a form of addiction when I'm in bitcoin and buying it for a long time because it's purely my common sense choice speaking and I don't feel burdened by it so I wouldn't say it's a form of addiction because it's a choice I've made in the end.

In everyday life we never end a day without using fiat for some needs. Does that mean we're addicted to fiat?? Similarly, Bitcoin hasn't reached the same position of getting used in everyday life same as fiat, maybe in some part of the world it is possible. Bitcoin these days has become part of our everyday life in one way or another. Because whether it is checking the market and learning something new about it or just discussing it with people. A day hardly passes without us doing something related to bitcoin. I believe that the motivation behind this belief in Bitcoin addiction is greed. The desire to become addicted to Bitcoin is not even because it will be used for regular transactions as intended by Satoshi; the main motivation is profit.

Everyone who invests in Bitcoin, whether through trading or hodling, wants to make profits, but taking your desires to the extreme will ruin things for you. Addiction, no matter how profitable it looks, still has its negative effects.

I don't think there is such thing as addiction to Bitcoin because for anyone to be able to become a successful Bitcoin investor one must be consistent enough to achieve this. It may look rather intensive to foreign ear but when you do math, accumulation of Bitcoin consistently is highly disciplined financial practice.  To me, safety guardrail which you referred to income of discretion is what makes this habit healthy habit. Second one begins to invest his or her rent money, his or her bills, or grocery capital in Bitcoin, that good habit becomes dangerous gambling. Volatility will put your patience to months or even years, but you can only withstand mentally so long, unless you need that money in your daily living. Building wallet full of satoshis and saving with additional cash is not an addiction, but other clever and anticipating saving strategy that will pay tremendously big in long run.
