Nigeria record over 2.2m kidnap cases in year, 2.2 trillion paid as Ransom.

When I came across this news I thought it was one of those social media Cruz. But I did some research and found out that it's no Cruz but the fact according to the national bearue of statistics. That Nigeria recorded a record of over two point two million number of kidnapping cases with over two point two trillion naira paid as Ransom. This was stated by a security expart, Prof. Oyesoji Aremu when he presented a lecture which was organized by the social science student association of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State, where he examined Nigeria’s current security situation.

This is very alarming from what I can see from the statistics kidnapping and hostage taking is now one big sector in the country that is very lucrative. If government don't do anything serious about this present situation Nigeria soon become a law less country that, it will be difficult for anyone to moves out as a citizen.

The sad reality is that no strategic decision is taken to cub the spreading trend of insecurity in the country, the Nigerian government is so corrupt that they are yet to equip the military to be able to combat this alarming security challenges instead there focus is just how to win the 2027 election, to the Nigerian politicians everything is about politics, the lives of innocent Nigerians don’t matter to them, to tell you how wicked the government is they prefer to pay ransom to terrorist rather than invest in the military.

The most annoying part is that even when this terrorist are caught instead of them to prosecute them the government prefers to grant them amnesty and re-inject the same terrorist into the military thereby making the military porous, they even release some of them at times without prosecution just because one big man call, even most of the ransom is shared by some top Nigerians because a wise man once said that any insurgency that last beyond 48hours that the government has a hand in it, it’s actually a shame that Nigeria has gotten to this point, please let everyone be on the watch out since the government have failed.

For something this life threatening not to concern the president, it is either his cabal is the one doing it or someone else he knows that is doing it. Keep calm. Yeah man, it is a very lucrative business for the political masterminds who still come to the media to claim they have your interests at heart, meanwhile they're the same people sponsoring the insecurities in the country. Aside from hostage taking and kidnapping, there is another niche which is organ harvesting. Accounts of some kidnapped victims has revealed dat some people kidnapped are solely done to harvest their organs and now the organ harvesters look out for people who neither smoke nor use hard drugs so they can profit from selling their fresh organs for profits.

It is really alarming going on the numbers of kidnaps cases and the amount that have been paid for ramson. This is very bad for a country,  because it just shows that we are not safe anymore and the government is not doing anything to change the situation.  I truly believe that people in power or influential people in the society are behind this issue, because I don't understand how some set of people will choose to terrorize a country for more than 16 years and the government is not doing anything to stop it or even reduce their activities, but rather it keeps increasing by the day. Nigerian is definitely one of the worst place to be right now, because you don't know what will happen to you in the next minute.  It's really bad that we have those that calls themselves our leaders and they are not doing anything to stop this issue,  rather they sit back and watch us die.

Given the frequency of kidnapping incidents and the price paid for Ramson, the situation is quite concerning. This is incredibly awful for a country because it just indicates that we are no longer safe, and the government is doing nothing to remedy the situation. I truly believe that people in positions of power or influence in society are behind this issue, because I don't understand how some people can choose to terrorise a country for more than 16 years and the government does nothing to stop or even reduce their activities, but rather they continue to grow by the day.

Nigeria is undoubtedly one of the worst places to be right now since you never know what will happen to you in the next minute.  It's truly unfortunate that those who call themselves our leaders are doing nothing to address this issue, instead sitting back and watching us die.

If security dey this country all these things no go happen and I believe that nothing like kidnapping go dey happen any time unless say na rich person or pikin them kidnap for money, all those money wey dey claim to pay kidnappers i can swear say the money dey go the government hand back, I never see anything like this before and the reason why i believe government too get hand for all these things be say they wan claim say them use money for important things and at the end na them still dey pay the kidnappers dey kill people dey reduce population and squandering our money.

Nigeria is a country where the government don’t care about the citizens and so I’m not surprised with the high level of kidnappings happening in the country, every day in this country I hear about kidnapping especially going to schools to kidnap children, recently they went to a particular school and kidnapped children and teachers of the school and killed one of the teachers i watched it on video like the video is everywhere in the country and I believe everyone in this country has seen the video and the government is not doing anything about it and till date the teachers and the children are still in the bush.
