Nigeria has had elections held since 1999. And the lives of people have deteriorated since then.  Elections in Nigeria are not entirely free and fair and rigging has become the main topic of the day. As we can all see that power is being recycled from family to family, cabal to cabal. Is this the kind of power rotation we want in this country?

When I say revolution, I am not necessarily saying violence. All I ask is that everybody that has been on that seat shouldn't step foot there again. New rules, new institutions, holding corrupt leaders accountable. That's all I ask. But Nigeria is heading towards a situation beyond the ballot box. Action has to be taken.

Many Nigerians voted for change in 2023. You can tell how it ended. The election was completely rigged. Imagine calling the winner around 4am when everyone is fast asleep. In what world does that happen? I guess Nigeria. Tinubu now aiming for a second term after running his first term in shambles. What do you think the situation of the country will be like in the next four years after experiencing his incompetence in the last four years.

What do you think Nigeria truly needs for a change to happen?

If revolution was to happen today, what are your thoughts on the state of the country if it really happens?

It's just sad that the revolution you are seeking for will never be possible in this country Nigeria. Because this same exact people (i.e the military) who you think would have helped us we the general masses to get a revolution against all these our wicked and corrupt politicians have all been politicize, and these military officers are really benefiting from this country, except the non-commissioned ones.

And this year again, this same party have also come up with a new strategy called the "Renewed Hope", and the sad part is that I was even surprised to see the presidential primaries that was done few days ago, and how it pains me to see the large number of people still who still queue up to vote for the same that place us into the hardship

And next year, don't be surprised, they fit even announced the results by 2a.m when everybody is sleeping. Because for the fact that they did last time and nothing happened, be rest assured of the renewed hope version.

For a country like Nigeria starting a revolution is not an easy task, you need to understand that we are people of divergent views, this is as a result of our culture and our different ethnic groups, so it will be very difficult for we to speak in one voice. Don't forget that this same country has fought a civil war before, what I still call uncivil war because there's nothing civil about that war, and we saw the line to which everybody was towing towards, the north had their own agenda, the West had their own agenda, the south East had their own agenda, and it shows that the entire different geopolitical zones never spoke in one voice and that has been one of the major challenge we have as a country. So today if you are a Southerner wants to start a revolution, those people from the opposing or different ethnic group will not join you, we should always learn to read history, take a very good example from the last End Sars, a particular ethnic group never saw it as a problem and they did not join and they did not condemn.

Nigeria youths aren’t ready for any revolution, well I can think that they will be very much interested in revolution that would obviously be on the internet and social media, who are the people that would be involved in this revolution, youths that are only interested in scamming for the boys, and the girls are only interested in prostitution and whatever they call it how they can do a bbl to attract men, I think Nigerian youths both men and women aren’t ready for anything right now, as for me and my household I’m not going to vote in any election because it would be a waste of time because I’m completely sure that my vote isn’t going to count.

I may have to adjust a bit and fit this two concepts into one which is Voting and Revolution. In your own description of what a revolution implies, you should understand that Nigeria has gone too deep into corruption of which, to achieve revolution, you must first get the balloting (Voting) right in the sense that the current leaders we have now in Nigeria are not the type of leaders that can pass that bill for your kind of revolution.

When you talk about not allowing anyone to step their foot there again on the seat but you also know that laws are passed by two-thirds of the federal house of assemblies. If you check our national assembly now you will see several people who have been there since over 4 tenures and still counting. After spending many years in the senate, Ned Nwoko still contested for the primaries to return to the senate and finally lost to Okowa. If not that he lost the primaries, he could have returned again to the senate.

We need election or voting to be able to get it right because if you don't have a good leader, no one would approve such law for revolution. Take for instance, the NDC Presidential candidate Peter Obi has already declared that he is only going to one term. Even though I know that he may also go for a second term later but his intention and stand against political tyranny and corruption. In summary, to get a revolution, you need voting.

If revolution was to happen today, what are your thoughts on the state of the country if it really happens?
What you call revolution is just an idea from a selected few that thinks that they can change the situation of things in the country to Thier advantage by condemning the ills in the current government, get into power and do nothing different from what the current administration is also doing.

It's just like when electoral reform was talked about here and there in the country, the people seeking for the reform had an agenda they planed executing and only tried to get Nigerians to believe the reform will make a difference even when there's an hidden agenda surrounding it.

Every citizen should be encouraged to engage in active voting of the candidate of their choice and not sit back and become persuaded by the views of those that believe that they alone have what it takes to bring about revolution in the country. For the country to change, there should normally be a coordinated effort coming from all citizens that's geared towards bringing in the right person that's interested in the growth and progress of Nigeria. Untill the general interest of Nigerian becomes one and everyone fights and comes out to vote for who's interested in a better Nigeria, mere talk around revolution.
