They said even an experienced person can fall for this scam, but how come he clicked on link ads on Google search? This has been what we have against on this forum. The right thing to do is to use the official link and not to click on ads. This user click on an ad that Google gave him, connect his wallet and $400000 was lost.

Use the official website, avoid ads.

Using a new device (not their usual one) encourages users to perform quick searches and then impulsively click on the first result. This isn't a new story for Google and its users. What's even more distressing is that their constantly improving algorithms aren't even capable of filtering out fake services.

You should know that as google is improving their algorithms to detect and filter fake services, that is also how scammers are using different techniques to deceive people to click on those ads so the best in just to avoid clicking on them completely to avoid situations like this. I wonder why someone who has about $400k will click on a Uniswap Google ads when they know that it can be a phishing link.

avoid ads by using an adblock, i have no idea how some people use the internet without one.

you should also know that google is doing jack shit to filter scam/phishing ads, just check on reddit and you will see the kind of scam ads that get shown on youtube and google all the time.
if google wanted, they could have fixed it a long long time ago, they don't because they earn money from it, so they just look the other way while pretending they care.

again people, use an adblock.

I use to wonder when ever I see this kinda news, I know everyone can fall for a scam but this is some basic scam that can be avoided by just double checking to confirm the originality of the website…and come to think of it why would someone with that huge amount of money make the mistake of clicking an ad result of the website he’s looking for? He could easily safeguard his funds by being extra careful of clicking just any result the search engine provides for him but he didn’t and he lost $400k!

I do feel sad for the victims of scams but this is actually a very terrible mistake and the it’s caused but overlooking things he considered “small”.

Some people do not know the ads are dangerous until they fall victim.

Also ad blockers can be better than another, there has been one that I have been using that I really like which is uBlock origin. I also enable ad blocks on my browser. But it got to a stage that the signatures on this forum are not showing, so I had to remove some of he feature of my browser ad blocks, but Google ads are still filtered.

I don't know if most of these ads blockers are free or one after subscribe to them, because it has been annoying also seeing that you will be on a particular page and before you know it, something else will be fleeping around your screen as ads, some can even take much longer as up to a minute before it left, you can't be clicking on all this without being careful, but there are times you will have to do so even at unintentional situation, so I think the best is to engage the use of ad blockers but I don't know if there are three ones downloaded and use from the Playstore.

It's free, so using uBlock greatly reduces the likelihood of seeing such ads. Also, it's illogical not to check the address several times before clicking, especially when you want to exchange $400,000.

Many cases happens because of typo domain which deliberate by the fraudster. They know that people will not double check the link and just click and those people becomes a new target. That makes people get in the trap and follow the instruction without knowing if they just a new victim.

You should make sure the site by double check the domain and that is the right site so be careful and always verify before you do something.
