Obviously, they’ll be angry and disappointed. After all, several of their top players have left in the same season, starting with Gordon, followed by Tonali, and now Guimarães. On the other hand, Newcastle hasn’t yet signed replacements of comparable quality. I imagine Newcastle’s performance will be poor this season.

I don't know if I will call this a mistake for Newcastle united now or I should wait and see their performance when season will start and peradventure if season starts and they didn't play like they use... Then it will be a great mistake for them to sell out their most valuable players and didn't sign back. I believe they would have done better last season if Alexander Isak was there and selling these players without signing back can make the team drop to nothing.

If you calculate how much they’ve made from the sale of their top players you’ll understand that they're doing good business and not really interested in competing to win the trophy or qualify for UCL. They have a way of replacing their players so i believe they’ll go sign players from lower leagues and develope them into players bigger clubs would be interested in.

Although i think the departure of Bruno Guimereas is because Eddie Howe got sacked, if he was still Newcastle's manager he won't have allow the deal happen. Can any team stop Arsenal from winning the title again? Bruno Guimereas is a very good improvement to the team, the kind of player they need.

I don't know the plan of Newcastle United's management but what they are doing now is pure business of developing quality players and selling them off. First it was Alexander Isak who they sold to Liverpool last season, now they have sold 3 of their important players in this transfer window. I wonder how they will cope this season without those players especially Gordon and Guimarães. I saw how Bristol City won them with high score margin in their last preseason game, it is to show that Newcastle will be in deep shit when the season games kicks off.

The sale of star players is certainly a highly profitable development club income source. Their main concern is identifying the young talent at cheap price within the lower leagues and selling them at a greatly high price. The new ammunition introduced due to such exchanges will enhance the strength of the midfield of a title-seeking team and render it unassailable. Prudent transfer market deals will definitely lead to a title.

Among all the transfers happening in this season 's transfer window, which signing can you see as the best signing of the summer? To me, I will rank them  according to how good I see them and how best they can have more impact on their teams.
The first player on my list here is
1: Rodri of Man City to Barcelona. Although this deal is not yet a here we go, but it will go through, its all about a matter of time then it will be finalized.
2: Bruno Guimereas of Newcastle to Arsenal.  This deal is one of the best transfers of the summer, and as far as the Rodri's deal is not yet finalized, I see this the as the best, but I know very soon, Rodri will be a Barca player, so the Rodri's deal should still remain number one.
3: Bernardo Silver of Man City to Real Madrid. This is another interesting piece of business that happened in the transfer market. Madrid were so smart to get this deal over the line, and I am very sure Bernardo will add  something Madrid never had to this squad of players.
So that's my top three transfer this season. What do you think guys.

It's very sad that Newcastle United chooses to be worse and less ambitious as they have been in the past seasons. They have sacked their manager that was doing very well with the limited resources at his disposal and hired a nobody that hasn't coached a top team in the English premier league before, so I really do fear for them this season because if things stay as it is, we should not be surprised if they falls into the relegation zone and stay there throughout the season, because as it stands, if top five quality players are not signed, they might be the worst team in the league this season.

Selling all your quality players without replacing them with quality is a very big mistake anyone can ever do, and they might pay for it this season coming up.

All these average clubs can only put up a brilliant performance in a short term and that's why they find it difficult to maintain the team performance at the peak form. Only the big clubs are always worried when things are going south and you will see them trying their best to sign quality players and a good coach in order to put back the team to back to its standard but these average clubs don't care about

What’s happening to Newcastle currently shows why it’s not easy to be a big team and maintain the standards. When they see clubs like Chelsea, Manchester city, in the Premier league being able to compete with other top clubs for signing big players season after season they thought it’s easy. I think Newcastle is obviously just trying to comply with the UEFA and premier league financial regulations so they can be able to balance the book and manage their overall squad budget. Each season I think a club do have a budget, as three or four seasons ago we’ve seen Newcastle trying to compete in the transfer market by signing players with huge sums including Bruno Guimares, Tonali, Isak etc. they do this in view to compete and win trophies but when they failed to win trophies that’s where the problem starts. You can’t be signing players for huge sum when you’re not winning major trophies consistently. No doubt in the 2024-2025 season they won the Carabao cup but that’s not enough to sustain the squad and balance the book, plus they failed to qualify for the champions league this season and that have really promoted most of their big players seeking a move to other top clubs where they can be guaranteed a champions league football. For Newcastle to continue getting hold of their big players they need to spend more money. When you see a club like Chelsea receiving several bans on signing players, they go for appeal and instead of them serving such ban they will spend money to pay a fine just to enable them continue signing big players because several times Chelsea have violated the premier league sustainability rules, but they keep maintaining their standards and paying fines just to keep hold of their big players. If Newcastle don’t sell most of this players they will probably receive a transfer ban for two seasons, and the only way they can escape it is for them to pay fine of which they are not willing to pay the fines and neither are they willing to stay two or three seasons without signing new players to the club, so they have to pay the price by letting go of their big stars.

      • Guardiola leaving Man City, can they get replacement coach that equal with Guardiola?
Guardiola's replacement can not equal him, He is a good coach and the final boss of experience, even Arteta isn't as good as he is, if he wants to be compared at the moment then we will be talking about a coach like Jose Mourinho who has similar levels of experience with him, but regardless guardiola is still better, he is the best coach there is at the moment,

      • Can Arsenal defend their champion title in 2026/2027?
Arsenal is good enough to defend their position as the EPL champions, but they should give out a better performance this season in order to do that, because the performance of some EPL teams (Manchester united, Aston villa etc..) at the end of last season was something else, and one thing for sure is that if they stated the way they ended, Im not sure that Arsenal would have been able to win the EPL trophy with that performance.
So they are can but they need to top up in performance.

It seems like this post of his was a while back in may when pep guardiola's replacement had not been announced. Right now it's enzo maresca that is managing the citizens, I believe that he knows that he has a very big shoe to fill, but I believe in his ability because he has proven beyond reasonable doubt at Chelsea, that is more than capable to deliver at the biggest stage if giveb the opportunity.

They are are the clear favourite to win the league title this season because they are very experiencing, and Mikel  arteta is the only manager among the top four teams with the highest level of consistency, like longevity, so his arsenal team already know what is required of them, for them to win  unlike other teams that have new managers that will need more time for their players to understand their system and blend with each other.

Newcastle is a failed project, what do you expect from a club that have been targeted in English Football, the truth is that they are not a big club in English Football, you can’t win a Premier League or Champions League with Newcastle, so when the big clubs winning this trophies comes for their players the players will ask for a transfer, there is nothing you can do as a club when a player refuses to play for you, and it started with Isak leaving for Liverpool, and the rest of the big players will also ask for transfers to leave for bigger European Clubs.

Newcastle was over ambitious, and it became a problem for them because they are the Richest club in the World, they tried keeping the players and project together, unfortunately when bigger teams comes sniffing around your biggest players, it becomes a problem they want to win the biggest trophies in Club football.

Now they’re building a new project, new manager, new players, there is a massive change in the club, but let’s give them a chance, we don’t have to write them off, because they can be an absolute good success, never say never in football, let’s see the team they will build in the next 3 years.

I was waiting for you make this point about Newcastle being very rich and you didn't disappoint while I was reading. You nailed it too, so the truth of the matter here is that, it's not all about having the money, having the money is one thing, how to hire the right hands to manage that money is another thing entirely. The owner of Newcastle I think is richer than Manchester City, Manchester City has the money and they also had the best hands that handled that money, today Manchester City is among the top teams in the league and in world club football. Newcastle has the money but not the structure, they need capable hands to help them build if not, they will keep on ending like this season in and season out.

There is always a reason why there are average clubs and the elite clubs, don't you think? We have seen in multiple occasions when a club that is one of the least expected wins the league trophy and fumbles the next season. We saw that with Leicester in 2016 after winning the league trophy and came 12th position in the following season, now they are struggling with the Championship level.

This happened after selling their star players the season after that and the next, and we saw how their performance declined. This is because most of this clubs are fixed on making profits from selling players, and have no ambition to compete for long term.

I wonder how Newcastle United will fare in the Premier League this season. Players leaving the team include Tonali, Gordon, Guimaraes, Trippier, and Joe White.
The first three players on that list represent 40% of Newcastle's strength.
As for arrivals, there are four new players—including a goalkeeper—but I have never heard of any of them before.
I view Newcastle as one of the teams that will be fighting to avoid relegation this season; the squad has become significantly weaker—unless quality players are brought in.

          Regarding those  new players..

          - Aladji Bamba, who is a midfielder and came from Monaco and is 20 years old. he didn't play much for Monaco in Ligue 1 last season, only 18 games.

I wonder why they signed so many players aged 18 to 20. There are some over 20, but they aren't popular players. It seems like they have zero interest in fighting for Champions League qualification this season.

They also didn't spend much money on these new signings.

          https://www.transfermarkt.co.za/newcastle-united/transfers/verein/762/saison_id/2026

The most expensive signing was for 50,000 euros.

          - Fulham and Southampton have reached an agreement to sign Shea Charles, a 22-year-old midfielder who played 33 games last season, scoring 4 goals, providing 2 assists, and receiving 6 yellow cards. I mentioned the number of cards because it shows he has had a lot of physical contact with other players, and that high number of yellow cards isn't good in crucial matches. Fulham paid £30 million to sign him.

I dont know what is Newcastle even waiting for. They got the richest owners in the world and now selling all their best players and i think they budget should be on max. With all that money they didnt bring anyone,im watching the transfer window and the news around it and i dont see any names coming into Newcastle, just the names going out.

I think they need to hurry and bring a couple of players not just 1 or 2,if they dont i think they will fight for survival in the premier league and for such a team thats a big shame.

It seems to be the classic case of a squad rebuild. The influx of young players into their squad is the real giveaway. All those players that departed were part of the team that played last season and they still finished in 12th position. Maybe their management was unhappy with how they fared last season and wants to do a full overhaul of the squad. I won't expect them to compete much this season except if luck or variance lands in their favour. Classic example is Chelsea in the last 1-3 years and the type of players they have been acquiring too.
