While surfing the forum, I went to that forum stats page, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats and I came across these accounts that are the most time online accounts. They may most likely be bots, but I'm more confused why the time they've been online is more than the time the forum has be active. By my calculations, they've been, or were online for about 61 years and the forum is not even that old. I just need someone to explain how this is possible and what the bots do or did, since most of them were created in 2018 and stopped being active in 2020.

It has been talked about a few times. Definitely bots of sorts. Check out these threads, you might find answers

1. Who they are! why they are active on the forum
2. "Total time logged in" bug and accounts with long time logged in

Well,  if the forum measures most time  online by checking how long a session stays active instead of actual human activity, then it could be that a particular user or these users above have stayed logged in across multiples devices and this will end up distorting or skewing the actual time spent online. See this post by the global mod.

And yes, they are likely bot accounts.

[~snip
They are obviously not active users here they are basically just accounts left online for years with constant browser refreshes that way the forum thinks they are actively surfing. Almost all are brand new and with zero posts only on is hero I guess last post was in 2016.

I'm only curious if they are basically ordinary bot accounts how do they handle when there's just a few cloudfare issues or when their login session expires.

By my calculations, they've been, or were online for about 61 years and the forum is not even that old.
If more than one bot is controlling one account the forum might be counting the sessions separately so the total sessions equal the sum of all of them. I still have a strong feeling some are used for scrapping data.

I doubt if these accounts are just accounts that was left online without a bot feature to 10x the time spent on this forum. Because if these were actual accounts that were left online since they were created in July/August 2018 til date, which is May 2026. Then it simply means that there respective total time spent on the forum would have been approximately 2,920 instead of the outrageous figure that is shown above showing 23,906 days spent on the forum. And these might only be a bot multiplier related issues. Because no amount of constant browser refreshing for years can multiply such figure shown above.

They are bots but possible reasons explained by hilariousandco.
Probably not. Some people use bots or auto-refresh tools etc so it will skew their actual logged in time considerably.
