While I do feel ADN holds some promise, i am i little concerned about the coin release schedule.

Specs provided:

84,000,000 ADN
50 ADN / block
30 second block target time
840,000 halving

Given these specs, that is 100 ADN / minute or 144,000 ADN per day.

The block reward will halve in ~292 days (840,000 blocks / 2 blocks/min / 60 min/hr / 24 hr/day).

At this point there will be 42,000,000 ADN in circulation!!! (840,000 blocks * 50 ADN/block)

This high influx of coins will flood the market and drive the price down as it is no longer rare. The block rewards either need to be reduce more quickly or the block target time needs to be increased to 2.5 minutes as in vertcoin.

Feel free to check the numbers yourself.... i hope i made a typo.

max is 84m regardless, We might just get there a little faster.

hi,defaced,
I also think that The block rewards either need to be reduce more quickly or the block target time needs to be increased to 2.5 minutes as in vertcoin.
I think you should think about it very carefully.
Thanks!

Doing this now is slightly dishonest and gives alot of coins to the first miners.
I suggest that the block reward will halve in 210,000 blocks (Instead of 840,000 blocks),
Doing so does not result in unfairness, while keeping prices stable。

The Point is that we have actual no merchant or something else what we can do with our coins.
they are flooding the market with our coins every day, so miners which are selling his coins directly maybe are lucky,
but what will the future bring us ? (shareholder and miner from the beginning)

ADN is accepted on ALTACCEPT.com a new payment processor that is working on getting new merchants.

This is still not enough infrastructure to outweigh the rate of current mining.

I agree with a faster reward halving, but it needs to be done more thoughtfully.

This is the current distribution:

blocks   reward   coins   total coins   time (years)
840000   50   42000000   42000000   0.799086758
840000   25   21000000   63000000   1.598173516
840000   12.5   10500000   73500000   2.397260274

At 210,000 block reward halving you run into a convergence on 21 M coins, not the desired 84 M:

I think the optimum coin release schedule involves a combination of variable block reward halving times along with a minimum block reward of 3.125:

blocks   reward   coins   total coins   time (years)
210000   50   10500000   10500000   0.199771689
420000   25   10500000   21000000   0.599315068
840000   12.5   10500000   31500000   1.398401826
1680000   6.25   10500000   42000000   2.996575342
3360000   3.125   10500000   52500000   6.192922374
10080000   3.125   31500000   84000000   15.78196347

The original distribution period was 8 years, this method increases that time period to 15 years. However, you can see that it bottlenecks the coin distribution to 42M coins in 3 years rather than the original plan of less than 1 year.

I like it. I think more stake holders would be needed to confirm if this is a change everyone wants to make.

I like it also, doesn`t seem something crazy from my point, if the community agrees maybe we can make a POLL here to vote.

The Point is that we have actual no merchant or something else what we can do with our coins.

but what will the future bring us ? (shareholder and miner from the beginning)

This is still not enough infrastructure to outweigh the rate of current mining.

I agree with a faster reward halving, but it needs to be done more thoughtfully.

This is the current distribution:

I think the optimum coin release schedule involves a combination of variable block reward halving times along with a minimum block reward of 3.125:

blocks   reward   coins   total coins   time (years)
210000   50   10500000   10500000   0.199771689

Good Idea, let us make a POLL .. here or maybe in our official Aiden-Forum.

I think the optimum coin release schedule involves a combination of variable block reward halving times along with a minimum block reward of 3.125:

blocks   reward   coins   total coins   time (years)
210000   50   10500000   10500000   0.199771689
420000   25   10500000   21000000   0.599315068
840000   12.5   10500000   31500000   1.398401826

3360000   3.125   10500000   52500000   6.192922374
10080000   3.125   31500000   84000000   15.78196347

The original distribution period was 8 years, this method increases that time period to 15 years. However, you can see that it bottlenecks the coin distribution to 42M coins in 3 years rather than the original plan of less than 1 year.

I like it. I think more stake holders would be needed to confirm if this is a change everyone wants to make.

I like it also, doesn`t seem something crazy from my point, if the community agrees maybe we can make a POLL here to vote.

+1

I also like it. Looks much better than the current distribution.

Why Aiden is better than SHA-3/X11/HVC? Memory intensive is the reason why Vertcoin is ASIC resistant. ADN is not. For now, it's unprofitable to produce ASIC for ADN, sure... but there are better algorithms for ASIC protection

It seems like these days it's extremely easy to make the next Vertcoin. Change a few lines of code and you get an innovative coin whose price will skyrocket in less than two weeks. (Hirocoin, Vertcoin, HVC, etc...)

I think exactly this is the idea why its ASIC resistant . When there are 50+ X11 and N-Scrypt coins then  any ASIC making company might consider developing one for this algorithm, however with Aiden - yes the change in the code is small but its effective and since its the only coin with this change its not very likely any company will even think about developing ASIC for it. After all the investment needed for developing an ASIC is very high and one will make it only if he can see big numbers.

This is what i think Smiley

Nothing is fully ASIC resistant.  As long as there is a market demand, the technology for ASIC Scrypt-N, OG, etc., will inevitably be released.

You must not have been around when ASIC first hit SHA-256 for BTC.  Folks back then said ASICs will never get on Scrypt market, and here we are today.

Yes, I also feel that it is very easy.

Vertcoin is not Optimized for GPU mining.  Aiden is optimized for GPU mining.  Matter of fact, Vertcoin makes it harder to mine becuase it uses more GPU memory, overall making is less efficient to mine.

Why is beating asics a priority? I think the better priority would be to make our current hardware more competitive with asics. Because like others have said before me, nothing is truly asic intolerant.
