So, I came across a project recently and it had a horrible ending. At first there was a lot of buzz and hype around it, and it was pumping like crazy, untill it came crashing down.

That is no more new to the crypto world. The crypto market had long been flooded with such nature of shit coins that the projects are only focused on hyping with no real world values.
These days developers aims to invest a lot of money designated to pump the market and while it is on the rise the public are attracted to buy it due to the immediate performance of the coins and to the greatest surprise the developers take away their funds leaving the communities on panic while the coins dumps in value.
In this cycle of projects only few people makes it successful especially those with insiders information and the smart ones who are not operating with greeds that understands such nature of projects does not last in the long term like bitcoin and the few alt coins does.

It keeps repeating all the time, a coin to be hype and get pumped, after that, exists the space with huge sums.

This kind of scam method has existed for a long time, I don't know when people will learn not to invest in a project that they see pumping in price when the end results don't meet expectations other than heavy dumping of price.

I pity those who invested their hard-earned money, with the hope that they have invested in potential coins that will bring forth many profits to them in a short time, only for them to have the shock of their life as the coin is rugpulled
The existence of this so called pumped coins is no longer something new in the eyes of all  crypto currency investors. I will say this pumping strategy is used to leasure and convince people invest in such coins and at last they will reduce many years of suffering of the investors to zero by crashing the system.
On that note we all must be very careful on the kinds of coins we wish to invest in to avoid regret at last. This same pumping is the main reasons why all see  crypto currencies as a scam project,  therefore we must not invest in any coins that lacks recognition

I use to sometimes try seeing if there are any good projects out there that I can take advantage of their pump, but this is scary, this is barely a year and it is dumping like this. I ain't touching shitcoins again.
I tell you for a truth that the project even tried staying for a few months before rugging. There are those that rug barely few hours or days after hitting the market. Altcoins are a terrible place to invest all what one has. I believe the caveat – Never invest what you can't afford to lose – is for altcoin investments. Again, it's not a good thing to invest in a project because of hype. You invest before the hype begins. Once you see a project pumping, it's already exposed and that puts you, the investor, at a risk of dump as those who invested before the pump are likely going to cash out on you.

Quote
Advice: We all should just focus on investing in Bitcoin, I know a lot of us already have this sentiment, but for those who are just starting, and those thinking just like me, that maybe I can cash out from a shit project, well, it's a gamble...
People will continue to look at the ROI alts give on a short term compared to what Bitcoin gives and will go for alts. It's tempting I must admit, though dangerous as you rightly put it.

Scammers will use many ways to trick their targets even they use an old fashioned way which can still works. If you see pump coins, you should be aware and not just enter but watching and research, no problem if you are late with the party because more coins will have the time to pump.

Usually that happened to new coins which need more attraction from traders especially new people who join in crypto. If the coins pump, many people will put their eyes and watching closer and just buying without think that is rug pull or not.

You need to stay away from the coins and choosing Bitcoin only so you don't wasting money but if you really want to enter, make sure you use the money you can afford.

I think pump and dump has become one of the biggest issues in the crypto space, which is why it's unfortunate that these guys are going for it.I think it's unfortunate they are going for pump and dump, as it is one of the biggest issues in the crypto space. There is also a tendency for scammers to artificially prop up a coin's value to lure investors only to dump their coins once sufficient funds have been brought in to lose everyone else money. Unfortunately, many investors still look at only price movements and not at the fundamentals of the project. That's why it is crucial to consider a coin's use. Development team and long-term vision before investing. If the project is just a hype, then it's generally a bad sign. With a bit of research and patience, investors can prevent costly errors and regret along the way.

I'm not surprised with every price actions that's going on among altcoins, this is how they always behaves once bear market takes over, this is why altcoins are not the best for beginners.

Altcoins are created to enrich the developers themselves, if you are not smart to start taking profits you will be left behind very fast, there is no projects that can be trusted this days, it's all about trying your luck.

Altcoins can be very tempting because when they do well the ROI can be higher than if they invest in Bitcoin, but the risk that comes with altcoins is why they are not the best option.

There are scam projects and we must be wise enough to know how to distinguish from any of this, show me call me form of offers while saw me be more logical and tactical in the route they are using, I will also advise that we shouldn't be greedy in anything that comes with an opportunity, because some of these offers may be too real to be true, and that is one of the weakness they use as a vulnerability to enter us and perform scam.

Sometimes a project starts with good intentions, builds a real product, raises funding, hires a team, and genuinely tries to succeed. But then the market changes, funding dries up, revenue never arrives, and the team starts making desperate decisions.

I’ve seen projects that looked completely legitimate in the beginning slowly turn into something very different when money ran out. In some cases, the result ends up looking almost like a rug pull, even if that wasn’t the original plan.
