If it were possible to mine on a phone, you could buy old models on the used phone market for $30-50 for this purpose without worrying about protecting your personal information. But there don't seem to be any such profitable apps right now.
I haven't heard of any such large-scale projects in a long time.
Well, I can get a much cheaper price than $30 for a good phone or an iPhone 7 if the app exists and is profitable; I can buy those units and run them 24/7, but I can't find any mining apps. Some apps, such as Grass, function similarly to bandwidth something, rewarding participants with Grass.
Helium also supports mobile mining of HNT, but I'm not sure if that still exists, and none of them use hardware (CPU/GPU) to mine coins.
I remember one. I'm sure anyone here has heard of Cryptotab. It supports mobile and actually runs your CPU at full speed. If you use it, expect your phone to get hot and die after a few days. Cryptotab has many bad reviews, and most of them says none profitable or the withdrawal is stuck.
So it's hard to find a legit one that actually works on mobile.
