I've never heard anybody say sports betting is better than casino games. I've only heard they say they prefer one over the other. There is no better in this case, in my opinion. They are both gambling and depend on luck, even though one may need analysis, while the other doesn't. Some casino games need analysis and calculations, too

Casino games are also more entertaining than sports betting in my opinion, because you get to do it over and again over a few minutes, while with sports betting, you need to wait for the game to be over before you know the outcome.
I prefer sports betting because it's easier for me to get lost in casino games. You can just keep going and lose more money that a person who is waiting for the first half of a game to be over before he knows the fate of his bet.
I also enjoy the thrill of getting a sports prediction right. It makes me feel like I know what I'm doing. Also as a sports fan, I like to predict games, so I prefer to bet on my predictions to see if I can make money out of it.

For the sake of comparison, someone who is into sports betting will always say it is better than any other gambling game, but at the end of the day it is not about what we like or what we want to prove, it is about where we are actually profitable.

Personally, I like sports betting, and you can see that from my posts because I am active in those discussions, especially basketball, but that does not prove anything and it does not mean I am good at sports betting.

Maybe we just have different preferences in gambling, but at the end of the day, most of us are still losing.

Look, let's take the very bottom – slots. A person sits and mashes the same button hundreds of times in a row, watching flickering images and idiotic sounds. Could anything be worse? Hardly. Betting is 100% better than that   You're absolutely right about the illusion of control and that the bookmaker still wins in the long run, but it's still some kind of intellectual activity (which, by the way, you can discuss with many people) and not hitting a button hundreds of times in a row without using your brain.

A lot of people think that just because they have knowledge on sports games means they can make money constantly but it doesn't really work like that. So for me, why would I prevent myself from trying all the games available? More games means more fun, as long as we stay disciplined and know our limits.

Still boils down on luck I guess, but at least your chances in sports betting might be greater, as it involves analysis of the game itself and maybe your experience too. As compare to casinos games like slots, base everything on randomness and you don't have any control of the result.

Your analogy is flaw in the beginning, you can also see that there are those who got lucky in slot games, winning big but it doesn't mean it is profitable.

So for me sports betting is still better and a smarter game as compare to luck base games.

to be honest yes in some cases you can have a very easy profit/stable just gambling sport. its a rare case where you can have a real advantage versus other players (and in some cases even vs the bookmaker).

No offense but I don’t believe that unless someone can really show proof that they are profitable long term. What we should be talking about here is long-term profitability, not just a few winning bets. As for me, I have tried both high odds and low odds, but still ended up losing. Now I’m keeping it simple, I only bet on odds around 1.90 or sometimes 1.85, though that is already a bit low, just for even action.

But even with that, I’m still not profitable either. So until someone can really find the formula for winning, that is the only time I will believe that profitability is based mainly on the odds.

I think you answered your own question, but if you are skilled & disciplined, maybe you can actually have an edge. You have (or even better, "you can have") more control over your betting & bankroll. But the big question is how many of us are really skilled, and how many of us are disciplined? I know I am not disciplined, and since I don't have so much free time to follow games & news, I can't say I'm skilled either. I like to check stats, recent news, analyses... It's all part of the process, but I don't take it so seriously, and I don't spend too much time on that. Serious players spend a lot more time & energy in that process... and therefore they have better results than we "average/casual/amateur" bettors.

Honestly, I don't know the logic behind casino games and I don't even know how they do it. I see casino games as luck and trial, the day you win is the day the casino favor you and the day you lose is the day casino isn't your friend. I have this firm believe that you can't go gambling for 365 days and have nothing from betting, it's not possible unless you don't know how to gamble. If you add odds to together, even if you lose for the 365 days, you can recover with one win.

Although, even though I don't like casino games I give kudos to the players that stick to it and play it like they don't have any choice. Some successful casino players are wealthy than even the common bettors but the gambling that makes a person go from hero to zero is not close to casino games because you can never see the outcome coming.

I think this believe does not apply to every gambler, because their are gamblers that only play casino games, and some too only play sports betting, while some people gamble on both sports betting, and casino games. This is basically on individuals experience, because their are gamblers who are only familiar with casino games, and they will tell you that playing casino games are better than sports betting, because they make some profit too even though even though stats are not involved.
Both casino, and sports betting gamblers have their own strategies, am very much used to sports gambling, and has very little idea about few casino games like aviator, and mad punch. I noticed that these games don't have stats, but they have trends, and some casino players knows how to read this trends, and is what gives them advantage while making a decision, and enable them to make profit while playing the game.
Personally, I wouldn't say sports betting makes more profit than casino, but is all about your own experience.
