I assume you mean "spare money." If so, it's easy to identify. It's leftover money that you don't need for anything else, and in gambling, it's used as risk capital. It's money that isn't necessary to improve your own finances. For example, if you need a new computer for your business, you can't call this money spare; you should use it to buy a new computer. It's not something you choose; it's money that's left over when you already have all your finances sorted and your emergency funds, medical expenses, etc., covered.

In order to avoid getting addicted to gambling it is all about setting limits and making sure you don't exceed them. You can determine your spare cash through budgeting. You would have to calculate how much you earn, deduct expenses, savings, emergency funds, and others. The remaining could be called your spare funds. This is an amount you can spend on entertainment or other non-essential things.

In my early gambling days, I couldn't differentiate between uncommitted money and essential funds. This caused so many financial problems for me because I was gambling with more than I should. I have never had any financial problems again because I use only uncommitted money for any form of entertainmnet.

Spare could mean different things but in this contest, they are talking about something "extra" "Not occupied or in current use" For example, you just got paid your salary which is $1k and then you have covered all your expenses with the money and you are left with $400 which you can now put that one into an investment or a savings account but you decide to only save $300 and spend $100 on gambling. First you should analyze it, aside from gambling where do you need to spend that money for? If nothing, then that's check number 1. Moving to next check, you need to ask this to yourself, what would you feel if you lose that money in gambling? If you feel okay or nothing, that's it. It's your spare money, spare money are just extra money you don't use I personally define it as dust money or small moneys I sometimes forgot in my wallet or a money that I don't usually don't have any uses, so by the definition itself it's not that really big but I think as long as you pay all your bills and you don't have nothing that's an extra/spare money.

Have you already divided or managed your finances? I mean managing the money you earn from your job as a source of income. So when you receive payment from your job in full, whether weekly or monthly, you can divide it into certain amounts based on your regular expenses. Of course, there are budgets for savings, investments, or insurance.
If you mean spare money from your income, I think some gamblers might not do that. I regularly budget for entertainment, which I more often use for gambling.

When they say gamble with your spear money, what they mean is gambling with what you can afford to lose. This amount is an amount  that when you lose it you don't feel it. Spear money does not mean a specific or special money. It means that you may have savings of about $2k in your wallet and you have another $50 in another wallet, and you just decided to try luck in Gambling, all you just need to do is to deposit the $50 from that separate Wallet to your gambling account and use it for gambling. And when you lose you don't have to worry because you already have $2k safe in another wallet. But when you fund the $2k in your casino account, then it's not a spear money, instead you are risking all what you have. Because you might get carried away and you spend all. So that spear money is that amount that when you lose it, you don't think or regret why you spend it.

I have read several times before from other members that they allocate a small percentage of their income for gambling. I have a figure in mind but I won't mention it because it can vary a lot not only based on the total income itself but especially in what expenses you have, so this is an amount each one has to figure out.

In my case I don't work on percentages, but I have set an amount I allocate for gambling/betting at the beginning of the month, and I try to spread it through the month so I'm able to I stick to my preset limit. If it wasn't enough, or it was too much, you can always reconfigure that amount for the next month, but I think that it's important not to change one's mind or improvise during the month, whatever happens.

It's simple... your income should be higher than your expenses. If your income is higher than your expenses, you will have some extra cash for fun & games. Of course, that works if you actually have an income and know how to handle your responsibilities... if you have any.
