The reason for this tendency is not only a lack of discipline but also the desire of many traders to make a quick profit here and now.
You are right, it's just like gambling where most of the addicts were actually addicted because of the quick profit that they were expecting, that's how some people get addicted to trading too because they are just more concerned about the quick profit ignoring the fact that trading is risky and losses are inevitable. I made a research about this, then I saw one video where the guy said that after he experienced the newbie luck, he was carried away and felt like it should not end and that was how he got addicted, although he later took his time to learn about trading and became profitable but the point here is that the expectation of quick profit made him addicted.

The reason for this tendency is not only a lack of discipline but also the desire of many traders to make a quick profit here and now. I believe that with the emergence of numerous exchanges offering highly leveraged futures trading, the situation for traders, especially those who lack self-control, has only gotten worse.
Many knew it that majority of the traders are only losing money. It's a fact that the situation has gotten worse and this is giving a lot of traders a thought that leveraged trading isn't for all. Some might be able to brag their profits but, not all of the traders are earning money from it. And if they're going to make some money out of it, and they're not addicted to trading and to any of it and just casually does it. That's better but, we can't dig a lot with those reasons that a trader can say whichever trade they get into, spot or leverage. Because even if someone keeps on losing, they are free to continue however they want.

Having a get-rich-quick mentality is the worst thing. People always end up making big losses by making wrong decisions just thinking about getting rich quickly. And this is a completely normal phenomenon in trading. In trading, people start making decisions emotionally in the hope of getting rich quickly. And in such a situation, they cannot make realistic decisions in any way. Because in such a situation, they start trading more and more without considering the risks, the possibility of loss and their own limitations, they just want to get rich quickly, they are stuck in this mentality. But by making such decisions, they always end up in more and more losses. Their losses keep increasing through uncontrolled trading, but then they become more emotional and in this way they get addicted and end up in big losses.

Any trading we are into under this, giving us positive results, will not be seen as an addiction, but when we are having a perpetual loss in Trading and cannot afford to realize our goal or achieve any success along the line, then everything results in an addiction to trading because there is no positive outcome from what we are doing coming forth.
I don’t think addiction can be measured by the outcome of one’s trade, if it is positive or negative. You can be making profits and be addicted, and the-same goes to losing and addicted, the result doesn’t really matter here. But I think why negative outcome seems to show how much of an addict one can be is because, experiencing those losses can really cause a huge mess in one’s life since at same time it makes you to keep trading more to recover losses and at the process even lose all you have without coming to a realization of how bad it has affected you. It is true that there is addiction in trading but it is not gambling that this addiction will last long. I have seen many losing traders who came to the trading platform expecting profit and after losing they stopped trading and are investing for the long term. There are some gamblers who have comparatively few entertainment options, so even if they lose, they gamble again to recover their losses or get profit. They get addicted to gambling because there is both an opportunity to make quick money and an opportunity to have fun. I don’t really see it this way you see it because traders can actually get addicted for a long time and still not come to a realization that he has lost a lot and need to stop to start investing in long term. Then as for a gambler, he can be losing continuously and might likely stop because of so much loss due to addiction and actually still not decide to keep gambling this time around just for fun, which is no longer a long term addiction again for a gambler. When it comes to do with addiction, it depends on the individual to decide when they’ve actually reached their limit or come to a realization that they need to stop or continue trying their luck chasing their lose either for a long time or short period, be it trading or gambling.

The addicted person never understands that he has to stop or start everything again. The mentality with which he is gambling or trading is not right and is only pushing himself towards destruction. In reality, if the addicted person understood these things, then maybe they would never have fallen victim to addiction. Of course, they would have followed the right rules and controlled their emotions, limited themselves within their means, never took excessive risks in the hope of making more money quickly and always maintained self-control over themselves. When a person starts trading and gambling with an aggressive mentality, he gradually becomes a victim of addiction.

When you start trading, and you have the mentality of making quick profits from trading, then you are already getting things wrong, because you just going to be so desperate whenever you are trading. There are some decision which you will make which you know it’s going to be a bad decision, but you going to do it because you hoping to be lucky. Trading is not a Ponzi scheme, and you can’t be a trader without losing, we shouldn’t allow anyone deceive us that trading is risk free.

Trading addiction is actually real but it is a bit complicated because most people assume that a person is addicted to tradinh simply because they are losing more than what they get from it. Trading addiction is simply Trading with no rules or plan, traders that are addicted find every reason to trade even when they know that they aren't supposed to be Trading at that time. people that over trade and also chase losses everytime are the ones that have a high chance of getting addicted to Trading in the long run.

Additionally, anything that contains addiction will not be recommended, and we must acknowledge that things cannot be forced to be done because, even if you are addicted, you will not be profitable. It is better to take things one step at a time because you will eventually grow weary of everything, especially if you are not profitable. You won't see the point in continuing, so it's preferable to go slowly. Additionally, if you want to trade, you must set rules for yourself that you will abide by. This is because every trader needs to be disciplined, realize that they shouldn't trade all the time, and know when to quit the market. Before they begin trading, they must comprehend many things. First of all, it's not as simple as we assume, but trade modestly, avoid being overconfident, and more.

Yes this is likely the less talked about topic. But it is real. There are people who suffer from trading and addiction. And it is more worse than gambling addiction. I know that both requires money. But one of them makes you feel like you know what you are doing. And that is trading addiction. For me it is way more harder to stop because you will feel like and the end of the day you will be profitable. It's like you doing something over and over again for years without result but deep down you believe that you will make it. The only problem with this is that you keep doing the wrong thing over and over again without learning from your mistake. There are people like this out there and I wish that for one thing to happen. That they know the kind of mess they are in and build themselves towards actually being profitable.

If someone is addicted to trading, it will either be they are in a winning race or they are trying to change their losses, I'm don't arguing that they will not be a person that is not addicted to trading, but it's sounds to me like a gambler who is finding a way to get things done for himself. Trading is very difficult for someone who does not have any knowledge of it, if this kind of person can exist, I will consider such person as a gambler because it is only a gambler that behaves this way. Honestly I understand for someone to be addicted, but in this aspect is very dangerous because trading is not done by luck alone, but with experience that is why someone have to be careful when trading.

In trading, such activities should be avoided and trading should be done realistically. Trading is not a matter of emotion, if decisions are made with emotion, then no strategy can be considered here, but only blind trading is done, and the possibility of loss is high in such trades. Therefore, it is important to be realistic in trading, do not rush to recover losses, and it is not the case that you will make a profit in every trade if 1-2 trades are successful, and therefore you must think realistically. If you trade unrealistically, it turns into gambling, and then it becomes as harmful as gambling. But refrain from turning trading into gambling, a real trader never trades with emotion.

Yes, that's true. Addiction in trading is real and a lot of people are addicted without even realizing it. Psychologically, trading addiction is similar to gambling because every small win triggers a rush that makes us want to keep going, making it hard for traders to stop even after big losses. And as a result, they usually ignore risk management and keep opening positions without careful consideration, even though in trading learning from mistakes is very important. The impact of a trading addiction in the long term is very damaging, especially financially and it can even ruin your mental state, which ultimately affects relationships with those around you. That's why when trading, we need to set strict rules, limit trading time and be brave enough to take a break when emotions take over, because trading addiction can actually be even worse than gambling.

There's noting like trading addiction, those who lose again and again are not addicts but the ones with poor and weak strategy and who don't really understand trading at all.
Although, everything in this world can be reason of addiction and some people say that traders who consistently lose but still trade are actually addicts not the ones who don't give up.
But, I believe the ones who lose again and again are just people who can't control their emotions during trading and they're not good at technical and fundamental analysis.
If such people start focusing on learning basic rules of trading then they'll also start making profits from trading instead of losing any money in it.
There is such a thing as trading addiction, but it is not as common as gambling and drug addictions. Here's a story of an addicted trader. He got addicted to trading, and it led him into serious financial debt. https://africa.businessinsider.com/markets/i-was-addicted-to-day-trading-for-12-years-and-racked-up-6-figures-in-debt-here-were/htz2wy8

I don't even think that trading addiction is that worse compared to gambling addiction. I think that a person can be addicted to trading because that's what they love doing. They do trading because that's their hobbies and they may be making money from it than they are losing to the market. There are people that loves trading and can stare in n their screen for a whole day doing it without thinking of other things than trading all day which is normal. Addiction and lose is something I think people don't do usually, a person can be addicted to something but when they are making loss from it, even the addiction reduces. There is no way a person can be making loses all the time, he will go and look for another money to start over again. Most of them, once they start trading and they blow their account, they don't try trading again, they just look for another thing that will give them money.

Let's not just assume that they are addicted to trading because they love doing it. No! They are addicted to trading because they have no rules, as they don't know when to stop (sell) and when to keep on trading (buy). Trading addiction is most likely the same as gambling addiction, but with a little bit of difference. The little difference between gambling and trading is because gamble can be used as a means of entertainment, but trading is different from entertainment, but the same way a gambler chases after losses, that's the exact same way traders also chase their losses during their trades. A gambler can gamble with what they can not afford to lose, and the same thing goes for an addict trader.

Making profit or losing, it doesn’t matter which, anything that involves getting quick profit has high chances of getting one addicted. If you’re losing, you will be chasing your losses, if you’re making profit, you will keep trading to make more profits, so I believe that’s how it works. Over time when you constantly do this, then you get too involved in it without even realizing how addicted you have come to be.

A disciplined trader knows in advance under what circumstances to close a position. How much loss will he accept and when to refrain from taking new trades. An addicted trader, instead of stopping after a loss, keeps trading again and again in the hope of recovering that loss. As a result, the amount of loss can increase even more. Trading and gambling are not the same thing. Trading may have real elements such as asset market analysis, risk management and specific strategies. However, the results of gambling usually depend on uncertain outcomes. Therefore, it is not correct to call all trading gambling. Likewise, risky and addictive behavior in trading should not be taken lightly. The main problem is when a person ignores his own set limits and puts the necessary money at risk. Therefore, strict risk management in trading and the ability to take a complete break if necessary are also very important.

One thing we must understand is that addiction is addiction, there is no way we can make it look good regardless. Remember that addiction is the act of being stucked to a particular thing. It can be drugs, gambling, whatever. But what makes it look bad is that hence you are addicted to a particular stuff, it automatically subject you to spend money unnecessarily or against your will just to fit up your reckless desire.
Maybe you haven't find yourself in such shoe that's why you're sounding that way. Like I said earlier, addiction is addiction and it comes with this kind of uncontrollably spirit that always push dude's against their will and most times they don't realize till when they're in serious lost. A trader that has lost significantly, will remain restless. What'll always run through his mind is that the next trade can heal it all and then bum, even if it will cost him his valuables just to be in it ,he didn't mind.

And addiction is never a good thing, no matter what the result is. Even if you're making profit, once you get addicted and can't control your trading, sooner or later it can lead to irrational decision and make you lose what you've made. Some people think that as long as they're still making money, being addicted isnt a problem and might even be a good thing. But that's not true. Once you lose control of yourself, the long term consequences can be pretty hard to predict. There's a reason we use the word "addiction' for something harmful. Its never been seen as a good habit.
