Trading addiction is actually real but it is a bit complicated because most people assume that a person is addicted to tradinh simply because they are losing more than what they get from it. Trading addiction is simply Trading with no rules or plan, traders that are addicted find every reason to trade even when they know that they aren't supposed to be Trading at that time. people that over trade and also chase losses everytime are the ones that have a high chance of getting addicted to Trading in the long run.
Making profit or losing, it doesn’t matter which, anything that involves getting quick profit has high chances of getting one addicted. If you’re losing, you will be chasing your losses, if you’re making profit, you will keep trading to make more profits, so I believe that’s how it works. Over time when you constantly do this, then you get too involved in it without even realizing how addicted you have come to be. And addiction is never a good thing, no matter what the result is. Even if you're making profit, once you get addicted and can't control your trading, sooner or later it can lead to irrational decision and make you lose what you've made. Some people think that as long as they're still making money, being addicted isnt a problem and might even be a good thing. But that's not true. Once you lose control of yourself, the long term consequences can be pretty hard to predict. There's a reason we use the word "addiction' for something harmful. Its never been seen as a good habit. Yes, you are correct, addiction is never a good thing no matter the level of money you are getting in trading never pray to be addicted to it because if you are addicted to it, you are going to lose huge amount of money that will make your life miserable in the future. Some people don’t understand how addiction makes people lose everything they have, when you are addicted to something and you are doing it consistently at the beginning you may be enjoying it because you’re having or seeing a good result, but as time goes on, it is going to start draining all the good benefits you have gotten, and after it finished draining all the benefits you have gotten it will start draining everything from you and then leave you empty

I don't even think that trading addiction is that worse compared to gambling addiction. I think that a person can be addicted to trading because that's what they love doing. They do trading because that's their hobbies and they may be making money from it than they are losing to the market. There are people that loves trading and can stare in n their screen for a whole day doing it without thinking of other things than trading all day which is normal.
So do you think they aren’t people who just love gambling too? Or people who get addicted to gambling because they actually love gambling? Be it trading addiction or gambling addiction, I don’t think any is worse than any because in trading or gambling you still either win or loose when still addicted. Players who make good profits from gambling still get addicted. You won’t tell me someone just wants to trade for just trading sake without the aim of making profit or more money from it simply because he just wants to watch the screen, but there are people who can actually just gamble for the fun. Addiction and lose is something I think people don't do usually, a person can be addicted to something but when they are making loss from it, even the addiction reduces. There is no way a person can be making loses all the time, he will go and look for another money to start over again. Most of them, once they start trading and they blow their account, they don't try trading again, they just look for another thing that will give them money.
I disagree with you here for saying when an addicted person loses, it actually reduces addiction and makes them redirect to something else, this actually happens only in rare cases because lose most times are what drives addicted people to keep trying and they keep chasing their lose to recover all what they’ve lost. It is not even that easy for someone that is addicted to even realize that he has lost so much and has gotten to his limit, so he need to stop and redirect his option to some other things that will give him money, not that easy.

Addiction don't just happen, it gradually starts with noticing that you can make good trades, trying them out and completing the trade successfully. You now understand how good you are and gradually you start realising that there's more to trading than winning and you want to prove that you have always been a good trader and you end up chasing losses. Chasing losses is the dead end of trading addiction and I think that it is easier to quit trading if your first few trials were all losses, giving up at that stage keeps you away from getting addicted because you no longer want to keep trying but if such a person continues until he starts winning, then he is likely never to quit again even when he eventually starts losing again.

Addiction is like a glue that is attached to someone, and no matter how you try to get yourself out of it, you still find out you are still out of it.i think gambling addiction and trading addiction are very much alike because they operate in similar ways. They tend to bring fast money immediately, and that's what drag so many persons in to it.

If you mean futures trading and gambling looks alike, I will agree with you but if you say trading, remember spot trading is also involved which cannot come close to gambling in terms of comparison or risk and other similar futures. Addiction is so thing needs therapy before one can be free from, it works with your emotions and is used to you, some efforts you will make cannot reverse it because it is already inside you and they do always have more hope on making money; that is what futures trading is similar to gambling because no matter how they are losing money to these things and they will be keen to gamble more or open more positions in futures even after losing huge money. In my opinion, you will a therapies to lecture you and study you psychologically so that they can help you to reduce your addiction rate, or to deny access to internet so that they will no access to trading and gambling.

The reason why I say that spot trading is different from gambling even if you are addicted to it is because of the coin you will still have in possession. In spot of trading, there is no liquidation while there is liquidation in futures because if the position you opened with high leverage goes against the market, you will get liquidated, while no matter how the market go when you buy a coin on spot, you can hold on to your position patiently until the market bounce back, you will get your money and still make profit if you are patient. Unlike gambling when once your prediction goes wrong, you lose all the money you staked same as future trading. Therefore, getting addicted to these two will not result to good thing because you will keep losing money.

I would not call it an addiction but I would rather direct it to the behavior of traders who from the beginning are not responsible for their losses, usually this is the mentality of fomo traders who only want to make a profit but are not prepared to accept the risk, emotions and the desire to return the loss are clearly two proofs of irresponsibility. So I would categorize this as a wrong approach and commonly done by some traders, it does not mean addiction, the definition is different.

Most addicted traders may be mistaken for people that are committed to trading and this maybe dangerous because those traders may not see it as addiction. A trader may feel that they are only given more attention to the Market because they wants to become good in trading while in real sense they are only trying to recover their losses. The moment trading become an issue to the point that it is affecting ones personal lives , how they relate with others, at this point the person is either becoming addicted or is already addicted to trading. There is need for a trader to have self discipline as this will help them to know when they are getting out of line.

This topic is a very critical one, and I'm happy it gets almost everyone talking and having something to say about it. Addiction is one important thing we need to discuss because what addiction has done to people is more damaging than the good it has caused. They tend to bring fast money immediately, and that's what drag so many persons in to it.
Someone addicted to trading won't even be able to control themselves even when they are at the point of lossing their whole capital. It changes someone's perspective on how they see losses and wins. Whereby losses becomes something they don't want to accept, instead they keep chasing losses in order to recover their money. Or at times when they see profits, they will ignore all their risk management and use high leverage to trade to gain a more money. This is just the results of addiction where they have totally lost the act of self control. Addiction is often hard to stop, because you are in, nothing can ever convince you to stop even when all your money are draining. All this later add up to emotional/mental or health issues. Gambling and trading are almost in the same categories, both of them them can be used to hustle quick money. folks should always follow preventive measures when they are into it, especially if find out that they are losing too much or over trading. The best thing to do is, walking away for a long time in order to cool the mind and give yourself some mental peace.

Actually it is not a person addiction to trading that make its scary, a trader who does not have much knowledge about trading but still dreaming to make himself rich through trading will usually face unimaginable consequences. Trading is totally different from gambling which requires more skills than luck, and a good trader would surely need to read and understand about candlestick charts trends in order to execute his trade position at the best timing to generate profits and minimizing losses if the trade does not goes in the way which he predicted.

In spot, you don't get liquidated, but that doesn't mean you can't lose money. If you keep buying high and selling low, you can still end up losing everything. More importantly, the outcome isn't what determine whether you're addicted or not. Its about your behavior and how much control you have over yourself. Once you lose control of your emotion and let them take over your judgment, I don't believe you're gonna get good result. That's why Pressurizedem said there's not really much difference between being addicted to gambling and being addicted to trading. The consequences of addiction are mostly negative, no matter what you're addicted to. That's also why I still believe a gambler who knows how to control himself is much better off than someone who's addicted to trading.

Most times we should not link failure to addiction when it related to trading. Trading is different from gambling and it's very risky for a person that called himself a trader but does not know what to do at a particular time when he is supposed to take a swift action that will decide whether he's gonna be profitable or going to lose money. As a trader, giving more attention to the market will not change the fact that profit need to be made and not having information about the market that will lead to productive outcome will be a waste of time. All traders need to understand one thing, how to reduce the time being spent analyzing the market when their are more easier ways to go about trading analysis that will be profitable.

And the majority of these individuals have allowed the Internet to brainwash them into believing that they will make enormous profits from trading and that there are people who are doing so, but that is not the case. The issue is that there is no such thing as making quick money, so it is important to realize that trading is not what everyone believes. We must acknowledge that trading can be profitable, but we also need to recognize that it is one of the simplest ways to improve as a trader. And this is part of the reason why I said we have to understand that you have to make sure you know what you are doing as a trader if not for that you will end up losing more money so it is better to know the right thing to do.

I will agree with you that trading is not a gambling, and they're totally different....but in the aspects of taking profits when is due in trading...that can happen you understand trading very well and when you're also not greedy...sometimes what deprived people not to make a profit in gambling is greedy...but if we make away with greedy we can make a profit why in trading.. As a trader, giving more attention to the market will not change the fact that profit need to be made and not having information about the market that will lead to productive outcome will be a waste of time.
For a trader to make a profit, it needs to understand risk management first...secondly, to make a research in order to know if the market will be favorable or not, they're people who does not make inquiries before they go into trading, so that they can overcome challenges

Very far from being called an addictions, we have some trader's who create such trading patterns that only take consideration of the profits and.not analysis the possible loses that come along the trade line. And when that loses comes, they refuse to accept it and be responsible with it; they keep chasing their losses and repeating the same patterns but expecting the same results.

Yes, you are correct, addiction is never a good thing no matter the level of money you are getting in trading never pray to be addicted to it because if you are addicted to it, you are going to lose huge amount of money that will make your life miserable in the future.
Its obvious that no one would pray to get addicted to trading or even to anything for that matter, but just telling ourselves we don't want to get addicted isn't enough. We also need to look out for signs that will hint at addiction and avoid them, especially the compulsion to trade, if you are a trader then it should be at your own pace, the moment you can no longer control when, how and what you trade then you've already lost to the addiction. There should also be something like a bankroll, you don't want to trade with more than you can afford, setting a limit on how much you spend weekly or maybe monthly on trading will also help control your compulsions, once that limit has been hit you stop no matter what.

In reality, there is no sure way to get rich quick, there are many things on the internet where everything is presented in such a way that it seems that trading is really a way to get rich overnight. There is a lot of fraud spread about this trading everywhere, everywhere only the profits are shown, but the risks are not shown, and in this way they put a new person in the wrong mindset and put them in big losses. To protect yourself from such losses, you must think realistically. Trading can be profitable, but being profitable is not the same as making easy profits. In the first case, most new people do not consider the risks of trading, they trade blindly to make profits, but if they can be careful on their part, then the chances of them being cheated will be much less, and so everything depends on them in the end.

Addiction don't just happen, it gradually starts with noticing that you can make good trades, trying them out and completing the trade successfully. You now understand how good you are and gradually you start realising that there's more to trading than winning and you want to prove that you have always been a good trader and you end up chasing losses.
In my opinion, people don't really need to do much; they just need to set aside their emotions and take the necessary action. As a trader, you need to be disciplined, which is one of the ways you can become a good trader that will reduce the way you lose money. It begins gradually, and one of the biggest mistakes is to be able to find satisfaction while also reducing greed, as this is one of the things that facilitates gambling addiction.
And I don't see why you would become addicted because being addicted doesn't guaranty that you will make money, so it's best to just do your thing gradually and you'll be able to. If you're not disciplined and prepared to learn, you won't make money at all, and the more you are consistent, the more you learn.

A person may naturally say that they do not want to be addicted. But relying on willpower alone may not always be enough. Trying to quickly recover from a loss, risking more money to prove the previous decision wrong, etc., can gradually get out of control. The influence of emotions when making decisions can be reduced to some extent by determining how much money to trade and the maximum loss that can be accepted at the beginning. When the necessary money is at stake, the situation becomes more difficult to handle after a loss. If someone repeatedly breaks their set limits, it should be seen as a reason to be careful, not ignored as part of normal trading. The biggest problem in trading is the continuation of taking bigger risks to cope with a bad decision.
