Sometimes I wonder whether our leaders see us as animals. A farmer in Kaduna who went from planting 150 bags of ginger seeds to just ten. His livelihood destroyed. His family suffering.

A staggering reduction of N26 billion to zero in three years. That is one hell of a loss. No government response, no minister visit, no investigation. Complete silence while farmers bear the loss. Is this really the real story or something that is being swept under the rug . A lot of finger are being pointed towards the adoption of GMO seeds.

The same government who watched ginger die already contesting for 2027 election and Nigerians are still holding cards for them.

Nigerians will you continue to die in silence or fight for what is truly yours.

I expected something like this to happen due to the high rate of insecurity that tripled in the last 3 years of Tinubu administration, affecting the entire nation, whereby farmers in Benue State (i.e Food Basket of the Nation), Kaduna, Jos and other major parts of the country that were mostly involved in the agricultural production of most of the goods consumed and exported from this country. And the sad part is the fact that Tinubu and his entire cabinets do not have a solution to the solution of our problem, but yet still seems another 4yrs in office, due to the fact that they have mastered corruption and knows how to rigg election every time. And for Nigeria to be great again, we truly need to vote this administration out from office.

This is much expected because business don't flourish in an unsecured country, investors will be scared and won't invest anywhere there's crisis, Nigeria is blessed with mineral resources and with a proper follow up we would have being a Nation that won't face hunger and insecurity but some politicians has decided to mortgage Nigeria for their selfish interest, Benue State is one of the states known for food production, which didn't the government invest in them and divert their attention from crude oil abit but bad government won't allow them do so.

Tinubu and his cabinets are the ones sponsoring insecurity in the country because why will a sitting President negotiate with bandits to free kidnappers and even ready to recruit them into the society. Our votes don't count and that's the major issue we are battling and even if we vote against him to pull him out of office it will be overturned by INEC officials that are working for him. Revolution is the solution to our problem.

Honestly I am not surprised this happened with the level of insecurity we have seen over the last few years especially in places like benue, kaduna, and plateau where a lot of our food is produced the signs have been there for a long time farmers have been struggling food production has been affected and impact is being felt across the country.
However what makes it even more frustrating is that many Nigeria feel the government has not done enough address these problem instead of seeing lasting solutions we keep hearing promises while the challenges remain at the end of the day the power to decide the country future rest with the voters and the next election will be another opportunity for Nigerias for choose the leadership they believe can move the nation forward.

Someone who has enough prejudice to feed his family will be able to generate more that could be sent to the local market before being gathered and transported internationally, but peace is far from the northern part of the country, which is where most of our farm products are being cropped.

Insecurity in this country is rising, and it's spreading like some airborne disease, and the government seems to not have a solution to the problem; it's entirely politicised, using human lives to play politics, and the closer the election date comes, the more such news that we keep on hearing.

Though what prompted this huge loss is not clearly stated, but I understand that Nigeria government is not given the due attention to the security of Nigerians, including the business men. This is a massive loss, and this person must be a well known farmer, and somehow I believe the government even benefit from these farmers who have grown to the level of exporting their products outside the country. This is a clear evidence that the present administration only care for themselves, and think of going back to the office when their tenure ends, and leave citizens groan.
Honestly, this man need to be revived, and the government should do something about it. There is nothing wrong for government to encourage farmers, and ensure the security of their products, but instead we are seeing the opposite side.

It is really shameful that a once agricultural rich nation has now gotten to the point whereby it can no longer sustain itself, worst of it all is that the government is not taking any step to help revive the agricultural sector, how can a country drop from a #26 billion worth of ginger to zero in 3years and the government haven’t declared a state of emergency on agriculture or taken any action to change the situation, instead the president is borrowing money up and down for his presidential campaign and re-election come 2027, i really feel for the future of the economy of Nigeria if things continues to remain this way, no sector seems to be working anymore under this APC government, at least during the PDP administration in Nigeria things wasn’t this bad but ever since this APC administration Nigeria have experienced drastic economic meltdown, it is high time Nigerians vote them out.

There's no policy on agriculture that can revive or increase exports of agriculture until te issue of insecurity is really dealt with,  in three years of this administration insecurity has increased rapidly ans farmers are not longer farming as a result of insecurity , every farmers are looking for a safe place to hide.

The Tinubu government has borrowed more than what Buhari and Jonathan borrowed in during their tenures. Tinubu ans his administrators borrow and share, they've not improved any sector of the economic in three years in power yet he has borrowed more. The question is that what did they do with the borrowed money? It's obvious is for campaign, they're saving money for 2027 election instead to focus in governance . Nigeria is gone, that's the reality.

You are right on the GMO seed angle. The company producing the seed will want people to buy. But before people actually buy it, they must run out of seeds. The insecurity in the North might be fueling it. I read somewhere that GMO seeds destroy the soil. If you plant it and grow food like mangoes, you can't replant the seeds unless you go and buy the seed again. This is what I call monopoly at its best. Very evil too.
But the rising insecurity might still relate to the Islamisation of the entire country. Recently, there was news about kidnapped school children. The kidnappers requested that Sharia law be signed into the constitution for that state. Very funny. So too many angles.
