Anyone using ChatGPT for betting analysis?

I have around 15 years experience in sports betting.
I feel there is not much discussion here about using AI tools and our own prompts for betting analysis.

For me personally AI was actually more useful than I expected, specially for NBA and tennis.
Not saying it can magically predict games, but it helps a lot with checking player form, injuries, playstyles, motivation spots and sometimes finding value bets faster.

I mostly use ChatGPT. Usually I ask it to collect stats for specific matches together with injuries, recent form and possible value on odds. OC I don't follow everything blindly, but as assistant for research and analysis I think it is pretty good.

Would like to hear other peoples experience too.

This is what I’m doing too when using Chatgpt to assist me for my betting analysis. It’s easier to let an AI collect the data needed instead of manually checking the specific stats on different site.

I’m the one who will make the analysis while the AI summarizes the performance of each team based on my desired stats comparison on specific timeframe.

Actually, I tried it once or twice but the results were hilariously bad. The "kind of" analysis of the match I was interested in had so many mistake, it wasn't even funny anymore. Sure, AI is learning and most likely it already improved again since I tried that but at that point I was thinking, how would anybody ever use that to make a decision on what side to bet? ChatGPT has every stat available so it can be extremely useful to analyze a game, but you gotta remember to factor in the unpredictable before making a large bet. The stat comparison alone is not enough to trust completely. I used AI for 4 games and ended up going 2-2 so IMO don't bet the house on AI predictions.

I was using Grok for a while and while I found that it didn't provide any amazing picks, it did have some decent ideas that worked more often than they didn't.  Usually always favorable odds though.  I did find that it was good at telling me things I might not have been aware of, like player injuries and things that really effect the outcome that you would need to keep up with the news to know.

Yes I use AI to analyze matches sometimes. But as you guys know, they process the data they have using computer logic. You can see many news on the internet about AI this AI that predicting the winner of matches and ending up wrong.

The news saying someone created a bot that wins consistently in prediction markets like Polymarket is also not about predicting the outcomes well, but more about exploiting the market, taking advantage of latency, etc.

So in my opinion, using AI for analyzing is good. It helps you analyze based on data and common sense instantly, and avoid involving feelings. But for predicting, I think it’s no good. AI can’t predict random factors, like player fatigue, psychology, etc. All these factors can change the game significantly. Using it for predicting is just a way to lose money with a more complex step. If you can lose it in a simple way, why make it complex?

Ai helps a lot in the case of recharge, especially when someone analyzes Spots for sports betting, then it is really very helpful and can help in winning. I just used it to help me with the stats and numbers and to crunch them so that I analyze very quick. But that's all, after that still boils down on the decision that I'm going to made as there are factors that ChatGPT might not factor in.

So I guess it's good for betting analysis as again, very fast and quick. But that is the only borderline, there are parameters like homecourt advantage or even players availability or the suddenly a player got injured in the game itself.

In the past, we always opened many articles to collect statistics; Liverscore, flashscore and many more --- since the convenience of asking AI then I always ask there to collect more data, AI also provides a clear reference which article published it.
So far AI is very useful for us as sports bettors, but not AI that makes decisions only in terms of statistics and nothing more.

Many have used it since the early days it was available, now people even use some other LLM-s like Claude or Perplexity Pro yet the end result is always the same which is they cannot help anyone be a long time winner in gambling. I have tried it myself even premium subscription in Perplexity Pro and nothing, I could not win more than I lost. They do great analysis yet they cannot predict random bad behavior of a referee in the games we choose to bet on. Until someone puts a hand and starts punishing wrong decisions of a referee chances are we will all keep losing.

I have not used an AI (Chatgpt) for betting predictions but I'm sure that chatgpt will only provide informations based on the histories of the games, it can not give you an accurate information or results based on the future games. It's better not to trust in AI for predictions because there's no guarantee to it, so my point is that it's not wise to bet with what you can not afford to lose whenever you are making using chatgpt predictions. Obviously, those who use Chatgpt and lose a lot of money literally trusted the informations gotten from chatgpt. It's important to make your manual research and predict the games all by yourself and also gamble responsible.

I do this couple of times, especially in leagues I don't follow closely, AI provides the data for my predictions, but AI can overthink things and exaggerate at times, so I still confirm some details manually. I don't always have to use it for teams in EPL, La Liga and Bundesliga since I watch most of their matches and follow up on team updates.

But on the general, AI is a good companion in providing stats, I've also asked it for honest predictions on match outcomes and won a few times with it.

I have seen few prompts and for sure there is a strong interest in this argument.
The most effective are the one restricted to specific markets/situation of a game (like try to get a valued bet and so on).
I am seeing people using randomly these instruments but they can easily "accelerate" some steps. Here there is an issue... if consumer can access to these resources, I would not surprise that bookmakers/platforms have already their own options.

AI helps you to get the analysis you want and make your research faster and easy which is a good tools for anyone who finds it difficult to make his research about the teams and players. I don't use it frequently because there are some matches that I just place my bet since I believe I am betting on the favourite team to win the game.

I don’t to be honest. I suppose it can give you form and who is likely to win, who is favourite etc but I just feel it’s too limited. It’s not something that I’m willing to rely on when there is money involved.

I’d rather rely on myself, at least I have nobody else to blame then when I lose money.

You said it all, and this line stands out... AI is a great tool, so it's a good assistant and can make researching much easier. It would be foolish to trust it blindly, even more foolish if someone thinks that AI can beat the bookies or give you an edge. If you wish to have an edge, you need your own strategy, data, and discipline... AI is just a support here and can't replace the entire process.

I use it for analysis and it has been helpful. But you also need to know how to write prompts so that you get the right information you need. Ensure that you are specific and also be ready to read and understand the information you got, because some might not be correct. There is no special means of prompting it, other than inputting the game and the kind of bet you want to place. There are also other specialized AI tools designed specifically for sports betting predictions.

I can say it's useful but never reliable enough. Useful in the means that it can be an educational assistant like explaining those betting concepts and statistics, but of course the final analysis  should always come from us. AI can be a helpful tool but it can never be a crystal ball that can reliably predict the outcome of the game nor help us in picking a winning bet.

Still, I am into chatgpt to ask some updates but the final analysis, it should be solely made by me and my prediction concepts.

ChatGPT is normally good in making analysis and comparison to make our bet easier but can still be wrong in predicting the outcome of match. If you use it for analysis, it's fine but if you completely rely on it to predict match result for you, then that's another gambling on its own. People use ChatGPT for trading too, so it's not surprising using it for sport betting analysis. It has updated information on teams and players, information plays a vital role in our bet. If you have access to reliable information, you can definitely take advantage of it in making your bet choice.
