What is Minted & Gone?Minted & Gone is a historical index of NFT marketplaces.
The project documents active marketplaces, inactive platforms, acquisitions, mergers, rebrands, shutdowns, and other significant events in the history of NFT trading platforms.
Its purpose is to make NFT marketplace history easier to research, preserve, and understand over time.
What the project covers- Active NFT marketplaces
- Inactive marketplaces
- Shutdowns and closures
- Acquisitions and mergers
- Rebrands and successor platforms
- Marketplace launch and lifecycle history
- Evidence and source references
- Archived records and historical links
Why build this? Many NFT marketplaces have appeared, changed, merged, or disappeared since the early days of the NFT ecosystem.
While major platforms remain well known, information about smaller, regional, or discontinued marketplaces often becomes fragmented over time.
Minted & Gone aims to provide a structured historical reference that makes those records easier to discover and research.
Planned expansion- Marketplace timelines
- Supported blockchain networks
- Acquisition and merger history
- Archive snapshots and historical references
- Evidence tracking and source verification
- Related marketplace relationships
Related Project: Historical Exchange Index (HEI)I am also building a related project called Historical Exchange Index (HEI).
https://hei.badjoke-lab.com/HEI focuses on the broader history of cryptocurrency exchanges, including active exchanges, inactive exchanges, shutdowns, hacks, acquisitions, mergers, and rebrands.
Minted & Gone applies a similar historical approach specifically to NFT marketplaces.
