This is no longer something new anymore as we know but one major thing we should be looking at is " what is your security level on your investment"?
From my observation, Bitcoin investment from people around here has sound so common nowadays where they are solidly focusing on a regular accumulation of Bitcoin, either through DCA or lump sum then forget about the security that is associated with their investments. People know that securing their seed phase is like a rhyme where they would be thinking that when they duplicate their seed phrase that their investments is secured.
But then, have you think of natural disaster? Things that you can't imagine to happen such as; flood, fire incident or something that is related to evacuations from your spouse or fiance where they wouldn't know when their visitor and anyone at home could get those their seedphrase being trashed.
If you know how important we should safeguard our investment then you would know how much important you should be able to secure your seed phrase without easily being compromised.

Your seed phrase is as important as your Bitcoin investment because that's what scammers or any thief around you will be looking for how to get it and compromise your wallet. This is why you should keep it safe from the reach of third party and don't keep it any how that anyone can easily access it. I think before anyone goes into Bitcoin investment they are already aware of the risk associated to their investments and they know that their seedphrase is something that is mostly important on bitcoin investment so they wouldn't be that fooled or being so ignorant of them to allow someone to scam them of their investments.

Security is something I consider very important and I don’t always try to compromise, thinking about natural disasters that can happen and lot more leading to our lost if seed phrase or probably being exposed is why I think the best form of safeguarding our seed phrase is by memorising them. The brain is wide enough to just memorise those 12 phrases. except if you don’t want to do it.

Even if you don’t trust your brain enough you could write them on a piece of paper and lock them in a safe but most importantly it should be in our head, once again try as much as possible not to let your seed backup on any cloud because if you do that, you then your holding are already exposed.

Truth is, there are certains thing beyond your control, so what you can do is secure your bitcoin in the best way possible and then hope that you don't suffer what is beyond your control. Talking about backups, stainless steel is the most reliable backup, engrave your seed phrase on it and keep in a secure location. That is not to say paper backups aren't good, of course they are, but they are vulnerable to fire, flood and other whatnots.

Finally, diversification is also another method of mitigating your risks. You no suppose put all your money for bitcoin or in any other asset for the matter. If something goes wrong, anything, you would lose it all and that is not a good position to be in.

Protecting our investment is the main thing to do after spending lots of money to invest in a project, it is a compulsory lesson for every investor to learn, it adds no value if all that is invested gets lost under any circumstance.

As an investor who invested and hold bitcoin and may be other crypto asset in your private wallet, keep that wallet safe and secure from outsiders and still maintaining your own easy access to the wallet is a paramount responsibility you must not fail at.
It is often said that "to whom much is given, much is also expected from the person", having the opportunity and ability to invest in bitcoin and other crypto asset is a privilege which is not absolutely free, it comes with responsibility and some sacrifices, especially if you choose to be the sole custodian of your investment and not leave it in the hands and control of third parties.

Duplicating of seed phrases or storing them in different locations doesn't give assure safety of your wallet but making sure no other parties gets reach to it because it's a key meant to be privatized.
Considering the risks of disasters being potential risk to the lost of your fund's by loosing access to your wallet may by fire, flood can be prevented by engraving the seed phrases on metal backups but no matter what, we can't have the seed phrases storage systems a 100% guaranteed because it can be displaced by earthquake. Only that being extra conscious will give better security safety.

I think it does, but it depends on the method of backup. For instance, if you add a passphrase to your seedphrase and store the seedphrase at location A and the passphrase at location B, if one of them is exposed, the person won't be able to steal your coin. He's going to need both the seedphrase and passphrase to spend the coin.

In the title of this topic, Op you mentioned risk tolerance but from what I know, many people tend to ignore security risk when they're calculating their Bitcoin exposure. It's very possible for a Bitcoiner to have high tolerance for price volatility and still end up losing every asset due to their poor security back up practices. In my opinion, storage security is supposed to be considered as part of every investment plan, it's not something that you should consider later.

Starting an investment package especially in assets like Bitcoin is not the ultimate, but what measures you have put in place to securing your investment. Because it's better that you don't even start an investment without any plans of protecting it than you start, than losing your investment at the end of the day. I want to say that for those who have written down their seed phrases at home, it important that they secure it by keeping it in a place that visitors and even people living with you in thesame will not have access to it.
