You can force someone to listen to you, but you can't force them to be doing things the way you advise them to be doing them. The advice you give is not the problem; where it lies is on the person you give it to. If they are not willing to learn and practice based on what's right, then that piece of advice is a waste.

The best thing a gambler needs is a settled mind so they can make their own decision and don't need anyone to be forcing their hand. Errors occur, but it's those who create room for addiction that can easily get addicted to gambling.

Yes, they do work for me.  There are times when we are too hooked on what we are doing, forgetting our own principle. Hearing or reading people suggesting something that is align to our principle can make us remember what we are missing and put us back on track.

I understand your point and why you’re saying all that. But one thing you need to know about addicted gamblers is that the acceptance and the willingness to stop gambling has to come from them, not from anyone else.
Advice helps most times, but it won’t really make any difference if the person is not willing to stop. Once emotion start during losing streaks, those advice will not be valued again.

If you want an endless stream of statistically generated numbers and facts then you are definitely in the wrong place. People will form all kinds of opinions, right or wrong, on different topics and sometimes might have a unique angle that somebody has not considered. Sometimes for us to learn something it requires seeing an interpretation that is posed in a specific way before our eyes are opened and we can take in the useful knowledge. Mistakes will teach you a lot better lesson than the advice of others, most of us will not be ready to hear what others say unless we are in a situation and desperate for some wise words that might help to deal with the situation and when someone in that situation will surely take those advice like don't bet more than you can afford to lose, stop spending more time, keep the boundaries for your gambling activity and so on while others are enjoying thinking that they can make a fortune here.

In the end in this case the advice that is always given is only intended to remind each other between gamblers but apart from that all decisions are of course in the hands of the gamblers themselves, we will not be able to change someone's fate when the person does not want to change themselves including in gambling.

The best advice is actually the one we gave to our self because until an addicted gambler realised the negative effect or the reasons why he needs to quit gambling , there is no kind of advice that will make the person to quit gambling. Another thing is also self control because without it , it is not possible for a gambler to gamble responsibly especially by gambling with what they can afford to lose.
