Which altcoin would survive if exchanges disappeared tomorrow?

ETH would still survive, BNB would go away if Binance leaves, and since we are talking about exchanges disappearing, then I am assuming Binance too, that means BNB would be gone. SOL could still exist, and there is a slight chance XRP and TRX would also exists as well because they are working with things that are outside of just trading.

So these are the ones I can think of, but there is no way that exchanges would go away, if you removed every single exchange we have today, then tomorrow new ones will appear. And if you banned all of them and made it illegal to have exchanges all over the world in every nation, then there will be illegal ones popping up everywhere, which will be mostly scams but some will be legit.

Monero is facing main problem that privacy focused cryptocurrency usually have which is liquidity because every big exchange is scared to list like outlined by people.
The liquidity resilience is still pretty weak.

What Monero need to do is to have better interop with high liquidity chain like ETH by releasing their official wrapped tokens and bridge. It's not as robust as you think, I guess.

In fact, exchanges are still here but many exchanges have already de-listed privacy coins such as Monero due to some regulatory concerns. So what is also your take on that, huh mate? . But you may be thinking that Monero can relate much if only there is a p2p system that is left. On this regard, I think it some won't actually mind privacy but what is important is they can continue doing trades.

So any crypto even if they are not privacy-focused, can still do. Not only that, but I remember, there is a thread I read yesterday where another privacy-focused crypto has a critical issue found on its code which is discovered by some AI. So exchange, is not only their issue here.

The OP's hypothesis will never come true. Exchanges will never disappear completely

Like altcoin, many project disappear over time, but new ones are created and keep appearing. Similarly, even if large exchange like Binance, Coinbase and Kraken disappear, others will still be created. It is a loop and will not stop as long as there is demand for it

spot on about the decentralized infra part. everyone keeps screaming "DEXs will save us" and pointing at ETH or SOL, but they forget that a dex is literally just a smart contract.
if all cex volume moves on-chain tomorrow, most networks would choke. market cap means nothing if your wallet can't even connect because the rpc layer is overloaded.
the alts that survive will be the ones backed by strong validator networks and reliable infrastructure. there are a lot of teams working behind the scenes on that side of the industry, from independent validators to operators like Crouton Digital. active communities matter, but operational resilience matters too.
if the underlying nodes, rpc endpoints and validators can't handle demand, decentralization alone won't save the chain.

I was here when exchanges did not existed. I mean MTgox and a few other places did existed, but it was not common, plus it was not global, some nations could do it, but my nation didn't have an option for reaching those, so if you lived here, you would not have any exchange.

We did P2P back then, and it was fine, while that is not easy today, believe me, there will always be centralized way to do this. I do not understand why people try to "think" about things that is impossible to happen, that just makes no sense to me.
