Looks like a scam operated by the government or by the officials because they know that $200 is not enough to take this to a legal fight but just enough to make millions of dollars from thousands of different people.

It becomes very strange that the casino claims the document you used has already been used by someone else from a different country. Even with facial verification, the casino can say that, clearly, it is the casino's attempt to prevent you from entering the casino and making a withdrawal. There are several reasons why a gambler would rather prefer a non KYC casino, especially with stories flying around about delayed withdrawals as well as frozen funds/accounts by the casino. But if we also look at it from another angle, we’ll see that a lot of casinos has used the kyc approach to prevent and tackle multi account abuse from players, money laundering, fraud and other malicious activities. The actual problem isn’t kyc itself but how some establishments misuse it.

By right government licenced and regulated casinos should be the most safest but unfortunately they are even the worst because they have government and legal backings so they have nothing to worry or fear about. In OPs case, I see a greedy casino who want lure innocent player to play so they could take from him through free spins but the reverse was the case and I believe the casino too weren't happy for the win's he got so they lured him into making deposit and also claimed someone already used his identity for verification which I think it's just an escape plans for the casino to do away with OP money.
I was wondering if the casino really understand what they are doing with cases of identity duplication like similar names belonging to different people on a platform even in the same country, things of this nature happens and the only way to ascertain the difference is the possibility of doing a live video recording and allowing them to spot the difference in both cases.

Not a good news, everything still sounds reasonable until the casino says your identity was used by someone from the Philippines. The casino should have done its due diligence, it is impossible for a Filipino to have a European face that has its own character. If I was required to do KYC, I wouldn't do it on local sites with shady reputations.

They subsequently closed my account end even confiscated my deposit claiming it was tied to bonuses and was "lost" while in fact it was a separate balance.

That's why I've never been rich in the gambling arena, because I don't dare to bet large amounts, you could say that my bets on average win, maybe 80% of my sports betting bets win, because they are small amounts so I won't get rich.

This is the first time I have heard about an issue like this.

A legitimate online casino licensed by the government is doing fishy acts. I would never go back to that. I doubt it is a real person who they used to halt you from withdrawing the money. It's just a plant, and maybe they are used to this kind of method since they are ready to give information that is fishy.

I will probably report this, but if they are licensed, I might just be wasting my time. They are paying tax money, and I bet the government will seek the truth even after many reports.

Government supervision is nothing less than kyc requirements and regulations and maybe in this case the gambling platform obtained its license from that region and it could be a glitch or a way to restrict other users from other regions to use it. IDK
I do think that when registering on a new casino, it is good to be patient to do the KYC requirements part first before deposits are made and before you try any free spins that may turn out to not be free after all.

It sounds like bullshit on their end, only so they could strip your winnings away, and it might be a thing with their other winning players as well.

Did they ask for additional KYC checks, or was it just a one-time thing? If there was a link between two accounts, then they should've required more to solve the case and not leave it at that.

Where I live it is the same situation, a lot of people complaining about them, I mean physical casinos here that they license or approve people keep losing money, very few people end up winners and the winners usually are the ones playing with minimum bet of 0.20 EUR and a minimum is 10 EUR to go inside a machine and play. These minimum bet players I have seen a lot of times go up to 100 or 150 EUR and they go away, they come back and lose but they won sometimes at least, people playing with higher bets usually 5 EUR or more are completely drained very fast even when their balance is more than 2000-3000 EUR in total and that is what makes me question the approving and licensing of such casinos, it is strange to say the least, for me it is because such casinos pay beside well known taxes, they also give bribe to government officials and that is why such things happen.

Do not forget that there are regions where anything that is controlled by the government is not mostly regulated adequately like the way a private company would protect their platform and provide good games for players so that they can continue making money form new players. When the government is regulating a casino, politicians can use their power to cheat and indirectly make money for themselves.

If you are european I find close to impossible they have SHARED an address email (due privacy laws).
Or anything like sex, nationals etc of another one using your account.
At this point it would be interesting to know... who is the provider?
Likewise in Italy we have AAMS, they are the agency that should take care of these issues. Not for money but for the issue that has been created.

Normally, KYC is a risk and a government approved casino doesn't mean that the government would be ready to regulate the casino and prevent unfairness. What these government are only after most of the time is the tax being paid by the casino owners, maybe some government can actually care for how customers are being treated by the casino but many don't, so the KYC is just for their personal gain and not really because of customers protection.  I read your full post and you said you even did a facial recognition on this casino but yet they blocked your account because of their claims, meanwhile they should have also asked the person they claimed to be the real person, they should have also asked the person to do facial verification and that will prove who was the Impersonator but they didn't do that because they were corrupt.

Your case is odd, providing documents but the casino thinks it's from the Philippines? It's a shame that casinos like this can't be trusted anymore, in fact there are many cases like this, it's just that they never talk on social media so not many people know.

I believe that the bad behavior of locally licensed casinos is due to connections with regulatory bodies, allowing them to act with impunity. Government approved casinos can be called to justice if they do something wrong to you, they have a reputation to protect and having a bad name won't be good for business, they can easily be dragged.

This is the main reason why I will choose a government-regulated casino over the unregulated casinos out there. A casino that protects your money in case of disagreement between the user and the casino. Unregulated casinos can vanish with users' funds without any proper reason for doing so. But a regulated casino cannot do such. Regulated casinos have systems that detect stolen funds, fraudulent transactions during withrawal or deposit, account hijackers, and other patterns of fraud which unregualted caisno do not pay attention to.
