The Delete Function In Service Board.

I see people applying for signature campaign in the service board and when they are no longer interested in the application they edit their application and write delete or just cross lines in their application a sign that they are no longer interested to apply.
And the reason for that is because they can’t delete their application until 24 hours.
It happened to me recently I really don’t know why it’s that way and I have been thinking to see the benefit of it being that way please someone should clear me on the benefit and if there are no benefit or good reason I think it should be removed so people can delete their post immediately than waiting for 24 hours before doing that.
what do you guys think.

You do not have to wait for 24 hours before the post is deleted. Just edit it to delete and report it to moderator. I noticed moderators are deleting it before 24 hours. Even if not deleted by a moderator before 24 hours, moderator will still delete it for you so that if you do no remember, it will still be deleted.

You do not have to wait for 24 hours before the post is deleted. Just edit it to delete and report it to moderator. I noticed moderators are deleting it before 24 hours. It is possible but I would not mind to bother moderators with my report. If I apply in a signature campaign, and later change my mind within 24 hours, I will do things by myself: either editing it to "Delete" or "Withdraw my application" or use Strikethrough. After 24 hours, I will return and delete my post, and this way I don't create more task on forum moderators.

The 24-hour wait shouldn't be a big deal even if you have withdrawn your applications. The reason that delay exists is already explained and if it wasn't there then the service board would be in a big mess. I am not sure if you would be happy with it. So it's better you go with the current 24-hour rule than wake up to the board looking like Goods board if you have visited it before.

Topic or post? No board that people can delete the topic that they created unless they report it to moderator to delete the topic for them, and that should be when the topic has no replies and worth deleting.

They used multiple accounts to create one new post in the existing topic every few minutes. It wasn't possible to report, because they'd delete it within a few minutes again.

They use posts in topics for bumping their service threads to the top of a board.

Because of that posting for service thread bumping abuse, theymos change the bump score algorithm since September 2019.

Ok now I know the reason why, that’s a good reason and the 24 hour delay before deleting your own post solved that issue.
