People working in gambling aren't sick of gambling, surprisingly

Where I am from the users who work in the casino cannot gamble at the casino they work for. They can go to other establishments to gamble, but not allowed to gamble at their place of employment.

That’s exactly what I was going to say. The OP doesn’t mention it, but I have a friend who worked in a casino for many years and that’s how it was – they weren’t allowed to gamble there, not even on their days off.

Honestly, it's boring watching all the action and not be a real big part of it. Guy sits there and loses $20000 and you get your $20 an hour + tips bored outta your mind, whereas if you are gambling and getting all that dopamine rushing to the brain as you are winning(or losing) and you feel all the excitement. 2 very different feelings.

Seeing some people winning a huge amount on their lucky run can easily removed the boredom or the fact of seeing many player lose since greediness will fuel the interest to gambling.

It’s same idea for those non gambler that recently encouraged to gamble after seeing streamer promoting it until they do it regularly and involved heavily.

Everything depends on the individual and what he or she wants for himself because I can literally tell you that there are people that work in gambling that don't gamble, they are just there to focus on their Jobs and avoid the drama of gambling and becoming addicted to it, women don't commonly engage in gambling so they are  safer when it comes to it, though few of them gambles but not much as we have the Men.

Working in a gambling can't make you sick of gambling if you are a gambler, infact it will make you gamble the more because you will want to try every game you see while on duty. Gambling is not bad but the manner at which people gamble irresponsibly has made it look like it's a worst game on earth. Some casino owners puts their employees under strict instructions not to gamble while working with them because they know the implications of it.

I have information with the opposite experience, when people working in casinos did not gamble because they saw the "system" from the inside and understood that the chances of winning were minimal.

I suppose no amount of fatigue or experience watching losers in casinos can overshadow simple human greed. 99%? That's not even my concern right now, it's obvious that when you stay around that much gambling you will be influenced to gamble yourself and if you think it's odd then you've probably never been in casinos much and that's good on you although there are restrictions with some casino on workers playing since their actions can be compromising to the casino but expecting them to be bored of gambling because they see it everyday is definitely nothing close to the actual reality.

It can't be all of them, there are some who don't gamble as a worker in a casino, it's pretty hard though because workers are going to be aware of winners more than visitors, this will keep working on them like they are missing out, but I refuse to accept that all of them are also into gambling.

About you been sick about the work you do, that's a bad way to get by everyday, if anyone is working in a company or organisation where they are feeling sick about the job they should quit, normally I don't find this to be healthy way to live, you don't have to be happy with your work all the time, sometimes we get tired but when it's starting to turn your stomach that's a time to quit.

That depend on how good they can control themselves avoiding the addiction because if they focus to works, they will not attempt to play gambling because the risk can makes them lose control.

In my opinion they don't gamble because they see it so much all day that they simply hate it, because they associate gambling with work, not with fun or pastime.

This is mainly cultural, I think. In my country they are being targeted by advertisers (equality has many faces, I guess) and I can tell you that it's definitely not 99% anymore. So it doesn't seem to be anything biological, they are as prone as men to gambling, it's just that the environment hasn't led to it until now.

Because there are rules on the casino that they are prohibited to gamble to avoid any manipulation or anything that can give bad image to the casinos they are working on.

Also for many cases of addiction for sure that they already got lots of angle that gambling is not for them and maybe they learn a good lesson from the experience of other people that's why they also didn't engage betting on other casino.

But still its really up for the person, since if they really want to gamble there are many ways to bypass and hide their identity just to gamble. But it seems those personnel develop good discipline that's why we see most of them still doing fine in life despite of they are working on gambling environment.

Even women isn't excluded from this because I have seen female that works in a gambling casino that form the habit of gambling as a result of them working in a casino. So it is something that is common to both genders. It will be a great idea if casino place restrictions on there staffs to avoid unnecessary issues such as using up casinos funds to gamble.

When you do a job, you have to fulfill your duty. Because you get paid for it. They also feel annoyed but they accept it with a smile and show a happy expression because the players always have to satisfy them. No matter what job you do, you have to fulfill your duty because it is your responsibility.
Gambling as a player is not as much fun as gambling for a job. Still, I think they can do both with more joy in casino jobs than in other jobs.

That is completely opposite to the experience I had. I used to chat to the live dealers before and not one of them gambled. 100% of them said it was just the job and in fact they discourage each other from also gambling, because it is already their work. And even some said their casino does not allow them to gamble so,,, it is very weird to hear your friends experience.

Gambling job is not the kind that the staffs will get tired of participating in the activity directly, if it's other job like working in a fruit garden, the staff might get tired of eating fruits because they have constantly eaten it to the extent that they are full but it's not same for gambling activity, you will always feel urge to keep playing or to start playing if you are a staff and you won't even get tired of playing. I've been friends with someone who worked in a sportrbook shop, she was never a bettor but she started betting because her colleagues convinced her to.

For most casino workers it is impossible for them to stay away from gambling because they are in that environment where people gamble constantly. It takes a lot of self control to work in such places everyday and not be a gambler especially when you are seeing people getting lucky and making profit from it.

I'd probably only do it if the money I gambled came from the company I worked for, and it wouldn't affect my salary. But, if it is something that would ruin me financially, then I'd probably jump out and just play on my own using other online casinos with a cheaper bet at each roll.

I feel like he is just telling you that to avoid being belittled. He is probably lying. If it is money that came out of my pocket, I will do it regularly, and that's because I will be prone to losing it all, which means my wife getting mad at me and probably leaving me alone for the rest of my life. Gambling is a choice, and if the story is true, then they may have picked the wrong one.
