Yes, it is absolutely true, life is like an ice cream. To my understanding life is sweeter when money is involved, because money solve almost all the 100% of the physical problems we are having, but the life you are talking about is not the life of the poor, because the life of the poor is not sweet like an ice cream rather it is bitter. Expecting a life that will be sweet like an ice cream, you need to have money to be able to live up to that standard. When you are saying childhood, in childhood if your parents are not well to do, their is no way your childhood will be sweet or enjoyable like an ice cream.

How do you know what the colors of life are like for the rich if you have never been rich? How do you know what they are like if you have never been poor? For me, I have been neither so I cannot really make any judgements.  Sure, having money gives you access to an easier life but money will not buy you happiness. Happiness is something that you must create for yourself.

Everyone gets a flavor of ice cream, and some get their favorite flavor while others get a disgusting one. We either have to learn to like it or find a way to cope.

It will eventually melt away, even if it resists staying firm. Before that inevitable melting occurs, let’s enjoy it. Enjoy it also in the context of work and worship. For those who are married, work to provide for the family, and worship to give thanks for the life granted by the Creator.
Work is certainly tiring; like it or not, it cannot be avoided. Work also requires a certain approach—it doesn’t always have to rely on physical labor but can be done smartly.

Well then, it's going to be a difficult start if you don't have any money or business to inherit. But many people worked hard and changed their lives. Some would just take that risk and gamble their time and money for something better.

You are right, it's tough to enjoy life without having any money. As a child, I grew up just playing outside without the need for money, but some toys needed to be bought so you could play with your friends, so I saved my allowance to buy them. The exchange for doing that is not going to buy anything during lunch break, which means hunger for the whole morning up to lunch just so I could buy that damn toy. So, even as a kid, money is always a part of enjoying life.

It's not that money gets you everything, but it does get you most of the things that can be the source of your happiness and comfort. If you say that money cannot buy you a longer life, or it can't buy you good health and some other things that are there, then it is true, but money does everything else. If you get sick, you need money to get the best treatment possible, even if it can't magically make you healthy, it will at least lay the opportunities for you to become healthy again as quickly as possible compared to those who don't have money which makes them suffer because they can't get the best treatment possible for their illnesses.

There is no doubt that life is difficult for all in some way, but there is also no doubt that money solves most of the problems one faces in their lives. I don't say that those with money have no problems at all, because every person in this world will have problems of some sort, those with no money will have money problems, and those with money have other problems, but we can't deny the fact that money is one of the most important things in this world today, because without money, your problems will keep piling up.

Technically speaking, it can even buy you health and longer life, to people who say that it can't buy you happiness, they always say the same things, but that is actually quite wrong. Like they say health, but imagine you being poor, and getting sick, you think poor people do not get sick?

In fact, poor people get sick more often, very often and they can't afford to get it fixed today, so they get worse condition later on. In reality, rich people can afford anything, the best hospitals, best doctors, best care, and suddenly they are saved from something that a poor person may die from.

It takes additional tolerance to construct a future in the harsh economic environment that we are currently in. Even with little money a tenacious person would be happy. It is important to take the little things in life and be happy with what you already have and strive for better livelihood. Because hardship in there and over the years you eventually become tolerant towards it.

Economies take time to change and often the change is prolonged. Very little can be done from the side of the common person while going through such times, other than tolerating it. Saving money and cutting costs, putting money in assets for the long term are things that need to be done once a good amount of money is saved.

Even then it is not always possible to be rich, but it is possible to remain content with what you have.

Yes, during war weapons companies or the oil supplier companies got the highest profit. Because they got double time more money on their existing reserves. However, In the agreement of peace both have to sacrifices some of their interests. No one is completely on the winning side. But yes other countries whose benefits are associated with the oil or the resources now feel relax both economically and psychologicaly. If there is no wealth inherited, then the foundation for the path forward has to be built through one's own skills and hard work. Many people have been able to change their position through their own hard work  starting from limited resources. Success requires hard work . but if you do not plan and make the right decisions our  hard work can be spent in the wrong direction. Money is needed to lead a healthy and normal life. Money makes our lives easier .  also if we lack money  we face various limitations in real life. So I think we should earn money in a way that creates a balance that will meet our current basic needs and will also be useful for investing in achieving future goals.

I like the analogy of life as an ice, it fits in the right description of how life truly is. But then before you enjoy your ice cream you have to make it sweet by adding the right amount of flavor, sugar, milk and anyother thing that is required. And this is relative to how life is because irrespective of the fact that life is short to enjoy it we have to first work hard to secure a better future so you can retire on time and enjoy life by first delaying gratification and build your life.

Happiness is very subjective and mostly a state of mind.

Look at a child. For a child happiness is playing in the dirt. An adult would never find happiness in such a way.

I had a very close friend with whom I spent my childhood. Their financial condition was not good. That friend's old disabled father used to beg for money from people and fulfill family basic needs. They did not have their own place and built a small house in someone else's place and lived with 4 children.

With time, everything started changing and that friend could not study due to lack of money and took responsibility for the family at a young age and at one stage he borrowed money and went abroad and gradually the family's condition improved and he also took one of his younger brothers with him and started a business abroad and became the owner of a lot of money. For several years they did not lack anything, but their father is no longer alive in this world and now only their mother is alive.

The purpose of telling this real story is that in the context of the conversation, I often talk to that friend on the phone but he never forgot those colorful days of his childhood. He repeatedly remembers those days and says that those days of poverty were good because there were no responsibilities at that time. I disagree being rich is of zero importance.

Being poor is important as being poor makes for more challenges.

If you have a good mate and are in the middle money wise it is far more likely you will be happy than being rich with a terrible mate.

I am in the middle not rich at all also not poor, but I have a great wife that makes for greater happiness then big money.

While the context may differ from your story, It's unwise to think of the past to be better than the present, in Ecclesiastes 7:10 it's written that people who ask such question shouldn't think of that, and focus on the present, there're so much good things happening presently in everyone's life that is yet unnoticeable, in the future people flash back to this same moment and say it was better than what their future has become.
