The reasons why insecurity still persists in Nigeria

The government make things hard for the citizens and that is why they don't have empathy and sympathy of what is happening again. And the Nigerian Police and the military caused everything. Because wen di citizens go protest na dem go still short di innocent people, so let dem do their work now. As for me, di whole problem of Nigeria na di military caused am. Because I strongly believed that di citizens can change di government to good one by revolution protest against di government officials.

It is high time for us to face the reality of life which meets us. We are the architects of our problems and not our leaders alone. The more we blame these our leaders and isolate ourselves from the problem, the more we find it difficult to solve the problem. Our leaders are just a symptom of our problems and it is because we have supported and aided their uncouth character for a very long time. E dey surprise me sometimes how we will be lambasting and lamenting about their actions yet when it is time for elections, we will still go ahead vote for them using tribal or religious sympathy and discrimination to vote for them back to the government again, then when we have them back again, we continue with the outcry. Does this even make any sense to you?

Every country with there major problems affecting them in diverse ways same also is security a very serious challenge in Nigeria. As for the problem of Nigeria right now i will say i am completely confused and can't tell if we should see insecurity as the major problem of the country or corruption because all are serious in Nigeria now.
The insecurity challenge we are talking about is what I strongly believe is engineered by corruption,  the corrupt political representatives in Nigeria are the once responsible for the insecurity challenge of Nigeria if not the Nigeria i know has all it takes to overcome the insecurity challenge of the country

Exactly, I feel corruption in Nigeria has taken the order of the day , which has led to so many things and it include the insecurity, whereas some politicians want bad boys so they can fight for them during election , them after election they began to act otherwise, they can’t kill or expose them because they know things we don’t know , the level of corruption in this country is not something that can be tackled instantly, it’s going to be a gradual process because so many things has gone wrong already.

I agree with you that this politicians are using this bad Boys to do their dirty Jobs and recruiting them to hijack ballot boxes as usual and that's why they have refused to take any security measures to stop the killings, kidnapping and banditory in the country, it is said that if insurgency persist more than 72 hours the government is behind it "Olusegun Obasanjo" and from what is happening currently I think it's obvious that the government has a hand in the insecurity of this country.

Corruption has been in the system from time immemorial but this time around since Tinubu assumed office it has trippled as everywhere is porous to corruption, with the level of corruption now we know it's going to take time before it can be totally erased from the system but in other for that to take place we need to vote in a leader that is corrupt free and will come to correct the areas that has been eaten up by corruption but then the question is, who's the right one?

Many Nigerians have learnt the habit of not bothering about thngs if it's not their problem "so far say no be my family member they suffer from insecurity eh no concern me" but it's very unfair cause we ought to look out for each other in situations like this, I know that the government owe it's citizens security but we in return should be each other's keeper.

 However I'll still apportion much blame to the government cause they've failed to tackle insecurity in the country they're not even putting efforts to recover the missing children and teachers, even though citizens pick up arm and form vigilantee groups to protect themselves from banditry the authorities would still arrest them and label them suspected terrorists or arrest them for illegal arm possession.

We the citizens are helpless it comes to the issue of insecurity, I actually agree with you when you say we don't show empathy among ourselves, i want to remind you that we the citizens our hands are tight why we cannot do anything. Right now if someone a good citizen say something bad about our leaders through social media they know how to track that particular person, but take a look at terrorist they are all over social media posting videos and also showing money that was collected for ransom and no action is taking against them. The issue of insecurity in Nigeria is beyond the control of the masses especially the case of  Nigeria, our government don't stand to finish the security issue in the country.

If it's just about God helping us, then I'm sorry to say, it goes far beyond that.
I can go on to quote so many part of the holy scriptures, but I prefer to stick with Amos 3:3 - “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?". We all can attest to the fact that our major problem comes from the politicians and their corrupt practices, but why are we as citizens failing to rebel and stand against this government?. It has gotten to the point where they start toying with people's life, but we're still yet to agree for a change.

You are extremely right, if people does not agree with each other it is going to be very hard for them to build something tangible that will be suitable and benefial to their community. I believe the high level of insecurity in the our country Nigeria is a result of leadership problem, yes feeling the pains of other people and speaking out can help, but we are talking about people who carry weapons to harass the lives of the innocent Nigerians. As an ordinary citizen, you are not permitted to move with weapon, and once you are caught, the government will come against you not minding you want to defend yourself.
Now we have government security agencies who are bestowed with the power to save lives, and properties, and even these agencies could not solve the problem of insecurity, and in some cases you even see some of these security agencies becoming victims making it look as if it is politically motivated. President tinubu is being threatened by the West with the crimes he committed for a very long time that is the reason why he is dancing to their tone, the president is just busy getting himself out of trouble by risking the life of Nigerians, honestly those West does not like us at all and it is already cleared that those people don't care about us, I can even confidently say that they are behind all this insecurity challenges we are facing in the country.

Everyone tends to mind their own business as long as an issue does not directly affect their family members. If, from the very beginning when banditry started, everyone had stood up strongly; both physically and on social media.I believe it would not have worsened to this extent.

If we had raised our voices together, things might be different today. Even in the Senate, when a senator raises security concerns, it is often only those from affected states who speak passionately, while others remain silent instead of contributing ideas or solutions.

Bro I understand your point very well, feeling each other pains and showing concern as one Nigeria is very important and for sure by this means the insecurity wouldnt have been as worst as it is as of today. No doubt Nigerians lack the empathy we are talking about but another thing is that even for those that care and may want to help the situation how far can they go when the people that are directly involved like the police, army and the rest of them that is surpose to be confronting this bandit directly have compromised already. I'm not sure of any negative thing done by the former Barrak Obama to the Nigerian government because by that time we have people whom were good and reputable in the president level so there is no way Barrak Obama would have had any effect on them and that's why our economy was very stabilized and strong that time but it was mostly from the president Biden Nigerians started seeing the worst and it was like a disaster that had befallen the country and till now that it has gotten out of control. The insecurity in our country Nigeria today, is not a new thing. The reason why insecurity still persist in Nigeria today is because of the foundational problems, the government has failed the people who has trusted in them for safety. They have already concluded that Nigeria is a place where if any thing should happen to an individual at that moment, it is just a matter of time for it to die off without any action is taking place. Insecurity is no longer an important or a new thing to our government because none of there children or relative is involved, had the been any of their relation is among of those they have been captured you will see the force and action they will use in other for them to be released, but, since none of their relation involved, it is less important to them. The government is denying they don't have a hand  in insecurity matter in the country instead they're blaming it on enemies of Tinubu administration that they the ones who are masterminding the killings happening in the country. This is a lie .These bandits has made confessions statement that they are been sponsored by the government so there is nothing anyone will tell me that will convince me that government is not responsible for insecurity in the country. Op you made really great points here and what you said is the honest truth, we cannot build a better nation if there is definitely no unity.
If we are all United as one people, and come together during when the insecurity started in the northern part of Nigeria, I think things wouldn’t have gotten worse to this extent because up until now there are people that have been kidnapped by boko haram/bandits years ago which is still in their custody and still so many people didn’t say anything or even protested about it and everyone, even the government kept on moving with their lives as if nothing happened or those people weren’t part of us or they were nobody. Since it is happening now that the insecurity is spreading into more states, the people are awaken because of the fear it might get to them or has even gotten to some of their loved ones.

Nigeria is one and if we take interest in other things that is not going well in other state as our concern and speak up, I believe things will get in shape. It is better to work together as one than to be one sided, which will help us achieve a faster result and the way forward is to be our brother’s keeper.
