You talk important point about empathy and how everybody suppose care for one another. When people only dey worry about problems wey affect dem directly, e dey hard to get the unity and collective effort wey fit help fight insecurity. Even though empathy alone no fit solve insecurity, when citizens and leaders truly care about others, dem go more likely demand accountability, support victims, and work together to find lasting solutions.
We the citizens are helpless it comes to the issue of insecurity, I actually agree with you when you say we don't show empathy among ourselves, i want to remind you that we the citizens our hands are tight why we cannot do anything. Right now if someone a good citizen say something bad about our leaders through social media they know how to track that particular person, but take a look at terrorist they are all over social media posting videos and also showing money that was collected for ransom and no action is taking against them. The issue of insecurity in Nigeria is beyond the control of the masses especially the case of Nigeria, our government don't stand to finish the security issue in the country. My brother, you’ve said it al. What can the helpless citizens do in this country Nigeria where our so called leaders have held ransom. The issue of insecurity right now is beyond just ordinary citizens because even those in power are not able to unravel the situation instead the issue is escalating every day by day. The country is not in Unity and that’s just the reason for this non ending crisis and even if the current leaders are unable to handle the situation, the incoming ones can’t still do anything because they are still from the offspring’s of the outgoing leaders.

The reason insecurity still persists in Nigeria is the lack of empathy among citizens. Everyone tends to mind their own business as long as an issue does not directly affect their family members. If, from the very beginning when banditry started, everyone had stood up strongly; both physically and on social media.I believe it would not have worsened to this extent.
What else can we call it? The lack of love and selfishness that has ravaged this country is a very big problem for us. Especially, from our leaders first, who has built or stretched it down. Firstly, they only concentrate on there areas when in power, more on there families and relatives. And for those who do not belong to them, you pay for anything you get from them, either im cash or in kind, especially more in kind since they are the ones with money, while the masses needs the money, thus they will do anything for the money. It becomes easy for them to stretch there hands across the country with there wickedness and selfishness since they first create hardship all over, leaving the masses hungry and begging. At this point, whatever they present to them, they accept with no choice since they need the money. The October 1st protect last year against bad government by some groups, what was the result, nothing.. this is because these in leadership were not affected. Our leaders are our real problem. If they live a better life, citizens are bound to lean and be better. But with the hardship created, citizens are tend to work hard for themselves

What a country we think we are leaving in, honestly this country need God to help us that just real life story…
If it's just about God helping us, then I'm sorry to say, it goes far beyond that. I can go on to quote so many part of the holy scriptures, but I prefer to stick with Amos 3:3 - “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?". We all can attest to the fact that our major problem comes from the politicians and their corrupt practices, but why are we as citizens failing to rebel and stand against this government?. It has gotten to the point where they start toying with people's life, but we're still yet to agree for a change. How do you expect God to help someone who's consciously supporting this terrible government?.... Like, people consciously try to prove that this government is working. I believe in the scriptures... I believe in God, but I honestly don't believe in the people because the majority are hypocrites, and so many names I won't use. We have a big role to play. With all honesty, you have said nothing but the truth and in as much as we know that this politicians are our problems, we the Youths have made it so because we don't stand up to our right and defend what's right, once a politician gathers a group of Youths and throws two hundred thousand naira in their midst they suddenly forget the pains and suffering that politician has made them experience and they still vote for them. As a people we should stop selling our votes during elections and don't allow a bag of rice deviate our attention from doing that which is right, even in the Scriptures it is written that heaven help those who help themselves, so we can't seat and expect change from the government without aiding the change to come. The day we decide to unite as a people and speak one voice and demand for accountability from our so called politicians that's the day things will get better but until then the leaders will continue to play politics with us.

The youths we're not given that opportunity, we know our rights but we're been deprived from some of our rights. We have rights to freedom of movements, and also rights to freedom of speech but if anyone try to speak up the truth he or she will end up in jail especially if you are going against the leaders or politicians. We also have rights to vote and be vote for, but I wonder if our vote counts or not, because at the end of the day we end up seeing the opposite of what we chose.

It's true that our Nigerian politicians are to be blamed for the cause of the increasing number of insecurity we currently have in this country, since they are the people in authority who can order the army to go after these bandits and likewise buy them the necessary weapons they need to fight this war, but yet they keep over-looking it, since it wasn't affecting their direct region. However, the youths are also to be blamed more for allowing these politicians use them whenever they wants to do ill activities in their region, while forgetting the poor conditions these politicians are causing to us all by not implementing policies that will favour everybody.

Insecurity will continue to be a part of Nigerian system until the people of Nigeria come up to say No to it, and this has nothing to do with the government at all because as it stands, it seems the government has already paid deaf ears to the tears and the wailings of the masses, they don't care about the number of souls we have lost so far in this time of insecurity. The president have neglected the people and he's only concerned about winning the next election. Therefore, knowing this, the citizens have to take it upon themselves to be a watch dog over themselves.
If we are relying on the government to provide securities, then we will continue dieing, and at this time, I must sincerely say I pity those people living around the areas where those terrorists dominate, places like Zamfara, Bornu, kogi and other places that these people can easily attack, The villages close to them are more likely to encounter terrorist attack that will claim lives and properties.
It is when cases like this come up that we see how important some persons are in the country because if things like this should happen around South South, I am sure by now we would have gotten solution to this, and for your information, the government have refused to intervene in this matter because most of the government officials are sponsoring this group and they cannot do anything to harm them that is why you can see them coming on live to do give away, showing their pictures and videos online without getting scared that the government can trace them. They know they have strength even up to the government house.
It might surprise you that the president is not able to do anything to this people because the persons sponsoring them has a great influence in the government house, and can decide for the president to leavehis office or not, therefore, for him to still remain on that seat, all he has to do is to keep silence. But the question is, what can Nigerians do to stop the issue of insecurity, or should we normalize it and die one by one like it is happening around the north? Or the country should just be splitted for peace to reign since it seems the Muslim and the Christians cannot stay together for good. What are your thought guys?

What will a harmless citizens do to people that are well loaded with assorted raffles and every form of weapon you can ever think of. However, citizen are just helpless because they are mostly the victims on all of this and nobody really cares, all they pretty cares for is the next election, maybe how they can possible rig their way into power for the next disaster they are going to unleash on Nigeria for the second time. And again, Nigeria Government have all the capacity in fighting insecurity in our country, but they have intentionally refuse to do what is right by going after this guys ( bandits etc) because they are hugely benefiting from all of these that is pretty going on in the country. But one thing is sure, karma must surely take it cost one day and they can't escape it.

Saying it has nothing to do with the government is not true. Government has the main duty to protect lives and when security forces are not funded properly and poorly equipped or when our leaders seem more focused on politics and elections than solving problems then insecurity will continue to increase. Corruption and weak leadership make things even worse. The feeling that some powerful people benefit from the chaos or protect criminals is what many of us Nigerians share. We don’t have to normalize dying. The real power is in demanding better governance while protecting ourselves and finding solutions. It won’t be easy or fast but giving up is not the answer.
