We shared the thoughts of those that were affected from the very beginning of banditry in the country but there was nothing we could do at that time to stop it or for it not to worsen to the point it has gotten now, because they have sponsors in and out of Nigeria and they are well equipped with sophisticated weapons, standing up against banditry at that time, we would had walked into our early graves as we lack what it takes to match their strength. Don't blame the situation of the country on the citizens, blame the government because they have what it takes to put an end to banditry.
Excluding the existence of Nigeria leadership bodies in support of there actions, eradicating insecurity in Nigeria would have been the easiest thing for Nigerian soldiers know matter the kind of sophisticated weaponspresent with them. In Nigeria today bandits are the most respected people, not because of any other reason but just because they are receiving support from the top leaders of Nigeria and all this are done because of what this corrupt leaders stand to gain in the country especially the resources all are meant to be benefiting but because of greed they choose to sacrifice the lifes of innocent citizens to become more powerful and wealthy.
Which is so sad, because bandits are not meant to be respected, honored or even among innocent people since they don’t value human life. But the government has made them part of us and even go as far as calling them our brothers, negotiating with them, giving them more egos and right to operate freely among us without them being prosecuted.
If the government can start addressing the root cause of insecurity, enforcing the law on this bandits, ensuring security by protecting communities, valuing the life’s of the citizens and also strengthening the justice system, I believe the level of insecurity will reduce.
