Pre-World Cup Friendlies

I haven't seen any of the pre-World cup friendlies but I've been following some of the results like how USA won Senegal. I doubt I'll see all the games because even though some teams will do their best to win, it's all just for fun and readiness preparation. The real fun starts with the world cup. Going to follow the results of Brazil game and hope they smash Panama.

Hopefully the host countries can put up a fight at least in the world cup this year.

Germany enjoyed a smooth match with their clean victory against Finland which was already expected. Deniz Undav scored twice in their 4 goals defeat while Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala scored the other two goals.

The match I find a little disappointing is Brazil playing a 1-1 with Panama as at the 35th minute of the game after Vinicius Jr opened the scoring in the 2nd minute of the game. I'm not impressed with what Brazil is playing because I expect them to be one of the trophy hopeful in the coming world cup. There is still ample time for them to showcase what they are bringing to the world cup.

Pre tournament friendly match is a good ground for coaches to test player's ahead of the main games proper in matches like this such as Brazil vs Panama, is going to be fun because what we are looking at is the real football display showing teams preparedness and clarity ahead of the upcoming games, coaches like Carlos Ancelotti who need to evaluate player's like Neymar who have suffered series of injuries but not back to the team this is a good time to test his recovery after the injury


 Preparation games helps countries to build tactics and test their avaliable materials before the main event, at least now rhat Brazil played draw in their first leg of the friendly it shows the weakness of the team, although friendly matches is not always about the winning but more of a testing ground for player's integration.

Why not? I know players don't take the game seriously also due to the upcoming World Cup tournament about to kick off, but it is still a competitive fixture with both sides putting efforts to win. What about countries that didn't make the World Cup tournament and won't be watched when it's start, this is a very strong match for them to play internationally with no fear factor of injuries.

I can't say not to bet on friendlies butt don't take the bet seriously, take it for the entertainment alone.

I dont watch friendlies unless I place a bet on the game. Friendlies are not a serious game because the players use them for warm-up, before the 2026 World Cup. The only time I will enjoy friendly games is if it is the clash of the titans. Where two big international teams are playing. The winner will determine which team is stronger between the two. For example, if Spain and France clash in a friendly, it will play a big role for bettors, most especially in case the two teams meet in the final stage of the 2026 World Cup.

I think I understand him when he said don't gamble on friendlies because I don't gamble on it too. As a matter of fact, I don't even gamble on the nations league. My understanding is that even though most of these teams will try especially the favorites, if the underdog comes to the game very hot and push for a win, the favorite might just allow it even if they try because there's really nothing at stake. They can lose the game and all will be fine.

Regardless of the final score, I saw that they were very organized in the game, it was quite obvious that the players didn't take long to understand and connect with each other. I think Germany is 100% ready for the world cup.

Now the score is 3-1 in favor of Brazil temporarily, casemiro and rayan scored that goal, there is still a lot of time to score more goals, but I have to admit Panama played much more effectively. Even though this is only a friendly match, Brazil is still not very interesting, I think Ancelotti still has some work to perfect his squad. Just small details so that they perform much better in the WC.

Edit: Brazil scored 2 more goals, the score is 5-1.

Today I'm going to watch the Brazil X Panama game
I'll try to watch Germany X Finland too

The two things that I am concerned about are:
1. What’s the importance of the friendly matches?
2 . I am concerned about players getting injured during the friendlies and the not being able to be featured in the World Cup matches when it eventually starts.

I want to watch the most important games to see how the teams are doing before the start of the World Cup, since I'll be placing a lot of bets hehehe

This is a good strategy though but it is not sufficient because in friendlies especially at this time, they will not be playing competitively to win.

If you are a player playing for the team B would you not want to play the best you can to show off to the coach and try to join the team A?

The risk is there but this is like saying you are worried that when the player is in his season team there is a risk he will get injured and not play the World Cup match. They still want to play football because this is what they are born to do, and a match is still a match even if it's a friendly. Of course the intensity will be lower

They also conceded two goals against Panama, and it's shame how their B team who saved them in this game. If they play 4-2-4, they will not even able to reach quarter or semis due to how terrible they are.

Agree with @asriloni, the 6 goals was expected, but conceding 2 goals to some team with zero names I recognize if this is the way they play in the finals it is going to be a long walk home early. Imagine, playing Casemiro and replacing him with Fabinho. Great names but come on this is not the best versions.

Why do you consider Panama such a bad team? Where Brazil scored 6 goals, Panama scored 2 goals, it is normal. But yes, I agree with you that if Brazil plays like this, they will not be able to reach the semi-finals. Because they will have to face a stronger team. But Brazil's legendary player Neymar is injured, I think he will not be able to play the next match because of his injury. Maybe we will not see Neymar on the field in the next match with Egypt. But it is true that if Neymar was in that match with Panama, maybe we would have seen something more exceptional.

You are right, I forgot that it was a friendly match where Carlo Ancelotti was testing a lot of things. It was not long before everything clicked and the team gave an amazing outing and trashed Panama 6-2. I love the fact that the goals did not come from just one or two players but distributed across several players, that shows that anybody can score for the club just like we knew the Brazilian national team to be during the era of Ronaldo de Lima and Roberto Carlos. The performance of Brazil have once again renewed my confidence in them as a title hopeful in the world cup.

Neymar is injured and it take a few weeks for him to recover, and hence he won't be playing in the first few games, even during the World Cup. Usually, I never used to place bets on friendlies but after a few matches, it is clear they are indeed trying to score goals and win big to boost their confidence.

This is a good win for Brazil to give them a good confidence and with this win they can see where they are at. In attack they were really amazing and this shows the Brazil we all know from before. Panama scored two goals only because Brazil was playing really attacking and its normal to concede even against weaker teams.

I wonder now if they can continue like this and do the same at the World Cup. I see them passing the group easily but i doubt they can go really far but still its Brazil so anything is possible.

Brazil played an excellent match; even though they were level, they managed to take control of the game and do exactly what they wanted. Ancelotti is an incredible manager and has shown that he knows how to field a team that puts on a show and plays good football. I rarely bet on international friendly matches, but I checked the results of yesterday's games and noticed that the teams are taking these matches quite seriously. They most likely see them as one of the last good opportunities to prepare for the World Cup, and I think the coaches are also using these games to decide on their starting lineups and evaluate the current form of their players. Because of that, the favorites are not treating these matches lightly. Instead, they are trying to put in strong performances and show their best game.

It's good warm up for Germany. They played with composure, and it's pretty good to thrash Finland with 4-0. However, i hugely critized how they are using their good line up for this game. There are several weeks remaining, and they have also to fight against US in june 6.

If they still use their good line up while they have no good depth like spain. It's gonna be a time bomb when their good players such as Wirtz, Undav and Musiala will be injured. I hope they will realize this, and try to give minimum gametime for their key players in the next friendly.

These pre-World Cup friendly matches are worth betting on because most national team coaches are taking them very seriously, fielding their best players. Yesterday, Brazil won easily, but conceding two goals was a major negative, as Panama isn't a very strong team. However, the positive aspect of Brazil's attack scoring six goals was incredible. Now Panama will play against England, Croatia, and Ghana in the World Cup, and this result is a major red flag for the Panama coach. Today there will be a good game, Norway vs. Sweden. I like the Norwegian national team; we'll see how they do today. I bet on their victory with odds of @1.85.

Germany is one of the strongest teams in the world cup for them I think Finland is an easy opponent, but this can be an important lesson for Finland, they can gain a lot of experience and see how this big squad plays, it can be a good step for their learning capital.
But finally Brazil managed to ruffle Panama with a final score of 6-2, I think there are still flaws with what Carletto is building here because of which Panama can score goals, but finally he solved that problem to score a lot of goals, this is a good step too, it seems that watching the big teams is really fun to see them score a lot of goals in this friendly match.
