Many source claims that this is the UFC pound of pound list, to all fight fans you know that the mix martial arts has become more entertaining than boxing, you can only imagine the assiduous work you need to put in to become a UFC champion in any weight class division and even more assiduous work to defend your title consistently.
The UFC pound for pound list reflect efforts, dominance in your weight class, consistency. The list is not bad but I would have wanted to see Chimaev higher than tenth, although he is all about his ground game but he is dominant in it and has made his opponents look easy.


Makhachev as number one is accurate and Topuria as number is is fair but I don’t think Topuria will concede to that, for me atleast a trilogy of fight between both fighters might settle who should be the real UFC pound for pound king.

I am not as die hard fan as the others but it's entertaining no doubt to watch these fights. So if there's going to be a fight that's on the pound list, fans and bettors will come to that and bet.

They understand business and the interest of the fans are there as well, so if they make it happen then it will be in the bookies for us to bet.

With everything being gamified and turned into a prediction market I could see somebody setting up a market for something like who will be the officially ranked #1 pound for pound fighter in 6 months. Prediction markets allow for some interesting options besides just your standard picking of a winner between two fighters.

Yes, I do agree it's just for pure speculation and the rankings might not be as accurate as everyone has his own definition on who should be the pound for pound. And it's not going to be static, it will change from time to time as fighters go and fight each other, thus the winner might climb up in ranking while the losing goes down.

So it's very subjective and if that is the case then our bets are not going to that good in my opinion. So for me this kind of betting is not guaranteed and it's useless. Might be better for us to just bet on who is going to win if both fighters are in the pound for pound list.

Well, that's probably a great idea to have that kind of line, but who will decide who is going to be the top one? I think it should be the people who will decide so that it won't be manipulated. Then again, who will count the votes? Because that is also prone to cheating in case someone on that board has a bet on the same event.

If it will be a clean system, I will vote and bet for it. But I think Islam Makhachev will win the top spot. So I believe the profits will come from predicting who will be number 2 and 3.

I think bettors will be excited more between two fighters that are very close in the pound for pound list like a fighter between the first Makhachev and the second Topuria.

You have to be very good in many disciplines to be on top of the UFC. You need to be very good at striking, wrestling, and kickboxing, which is why it's rare to see champions reigning for many years; there will always be a challenger who will expose your weakness. That pound-for-pound list is good, but when it comes to all-time, I consider Andersson Silva and Jon "Bones" Jones to be on top of my list.

Each weight classes champion is on the list, but 7 other fighters are fighters from all weight classes, from which 3 are from lightweight. Why not put champion + fighter who is on first place from each weight class, and rank them who has better win/lose ration? Why fighters who are undefeated and have series of almost 10 victories are not in the list, when there are in the list fighters who have both wins and losses? Pound for pound list reminds of list of actors, who performance is on a high level, yet Oscars statuette get always others.

The claim that UFC is more entertaining than boxing is not generally acceptable. Unless we have research to verify this claim, it's not accurate. Boxing still has more crowds because of its long historical legacy. I don't have so much interest in UFC because of its violent nature. The injuries, bleeding and other violent tendencies in UFC make me avoid it.

However, I would gladly place bets on these games if there are viable predictions from some social media gambling channels I have joined. I could also use some AI tools to make predictions.

I'm not a big fan of UFC competition, there aren't many fighters I'm familiar with other than Khabib Nurmagomedov, Conor and the latest I'm paying attention to at the moment is Islam Makhachev, but it's not a bad idea to try to bet on the best UFC fighter Pound for Pound if the judging is fair, especially after I found out that this kind of bet isn't always available every year, so consider it a once a year bet so it's not a bad thing.

I agree, it's much better if OP shared the matchup lineups but I think he just use an image of the title holders. Anyway, I would definitely place bet on UFC matches though I know only Islam but if I'm going to place bet on other matchup, I'll definitely use data of previous matches and probably watch some clips before placing a bet.

In as much as I am always against a style of sports that would involve player going too hard on themselves and possibly leading to severe injuries most of the time, and also encourages the use of hard drugs for strength, I still sometimes enjoy some UFC matches, especially ones where the fighters are more moderate in dealing with each other, this is why I still prefer boxing any day and anytime since there are more rules in boxing to ensure the possibility of severe injuries is reduced to its bearest minimum.

I don't and won't bet on any UFC match except something in me changes and pushes me to start liking and showing interest in every fight, because as a matter of fact, it's makes absolutely no sense betting on a sports one doesn't know much about, I don't even know the name of any fighter in UFC, let alone knowing how any performs, and it's all because it's not a sports I love that much.

I would bet on a prediction but major fights are sometimes far apart so will be major changes on the list. This means while the list is released weekly there is not always movement at the top end. If I am correct Strickland is the only one in that top 8 that has fought within the last 4 months.

That should be a criticism and not a compliment. You are ripping off most of the fighters if you pay the majority bad. They only really pay the top 1% of fighters and through in match bonuses to make it look general.

If I want to emotional I will say it is a criticism because the assiduous nature of the UFC demands more pay and considering these fighters I think the pay is very low but if I was a businessman that believe in profit and loss I think Dana has done a great job because even with everything his big fighters are still there and a handful has left but there are still more new talent coming from the UFC.

He can still make a good profit if he pays most of the fighters well. They throw in multi millions to build arenas and basically make the stage more global to attract the best talents but not pay the talents that make the stage worth anything well.

It is the most popular MMA franchise and will always attract talent that dream of becoming a part of the 1% some day but those that do not make it there should still be able to rely on their salary.

Well, everyone has their own take on this matter. So yeah, if you like this sports definitely you will find a way to bet on this list. They have seen that they can earn money from this, hence, continuing these fights. Because if no one is betting on this match, I would say, they will stop conducting these fights.

I have grown up to see these fights and they can gain spectators and so with bettors, so I think, they won't stop this sports anytime soon. They can fetch good number of audience as well as bettors. Because if they have no audience anymore, I would say, they will consider conducting this kind of matches.

In between boredom with soccer betting, I always visit UFC betting. This doesn't mean I'm a fan of any of them. I love martial arts. Unfortunately, I've only recently started watching UFC, so I don't really know who the best athletes are. But even if I don't know them, I'll still bet. Honestly, watching them fight never bores me.

And the bookies are simply waiting for that for them to provide the odds. They'll also make a lot of money since entertainment contact sports have been emerging now.

The list is great, but the problem with betting on the pound for pound rankings is that they are determined by a panel of media members. Most of the time, these rankings are not accurate as there will be bias on the rankings.

You do not need a trilogy of fights, if Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria face each other, the advantage is with Islam to win as he is a much bigger fighter.

I do think Chimaev should be on top of the list besides being at the tenth spot if not for his long absence due to health issues and scheduling complexities because it is consistency of activity and performance on the ring that counts more here. Dominance and mastery of fighting skills also counts along with how many title defense and how active the fighter has been, else Chimaev should top the list due to his skill set.

Another fighter I look out for is Topuria who ranks 2nd and with an alpha mindset. There's no contest about his knockout power and crisp and he definitely won't go down so easy because of his alpha mentality making him deserving of the top spot.
