Like the topic says, it seems bitget has resumed collecting fees despite removing it earlier this year, I attempted selling some USDT recently and was surprised they charged me 0.15 USDT for a 149.99 USDT P2P transaction. I wonder what made them resume charging fees barely 3 months they agreed to remove the fees. Here is the evidence of my claims below: Sorry, I had to cut out my name for privacy reasons. What do you think about their decisions to bring back P2P fees? Isn't it a bad marketing PR especially when other exchanges don't charge a dime for their P2P services, at least for the last time I used Bybit, they don't, dunno about now.

I use Bybit for my p2p and they don’t charge fees during p2p trading exchange. I have also used other exchanges before that don’t charge fees but never have I used Bitget for p2p trading. If this is how they decide to charge their customers, it is a very bad way of promoting their services. No one will want to use their services because of this single act.
Bitget should do better because when you’re in competition and you can’t provide something better than your rivals in competition, they’ll leave you and go for them as long as they feel they’re been more valued there than your place. The fees might look small, but to some people it is a red flag to not use that exchange again.

I’ve not used bitget for a while now but the last I used there always no charges on the p2p transaction. But from what OP has posted it seems they have actually started charging the p2p trading fees Wch other exchanges are not and this is going to chase some people away. Those charges are too little for them to jeopardise their platform people always want to use platform that don’t charge and they should not forget that the competition among the exchange is increasing as every exchange is trying to to introduce features that will attract more users instead of of introducing what will be like a red flag.

Nigerians like to use just one exchange just as you are using Bybit, I will prefer not to use both exchanges. I have options of exchanges that do not charge me fee, why would I used Bitget. I know p2p exchanges that buyers will not be disturbing me to deduct some money from the money they want to send me, why would I use Bybit p2p.

I don't use Bitget. I can't recall the issue I had with them that made me abandon the exchange completely, but I still have to ask a question for clarity's sake: are the fees which are being charged fixed at $0.15, or is the fee based on the amount you are selling? Do they charge a certain percentage? If it's just $0.15 and they offer security, it's better than trying to run into another exchange with P2P that you might likely get scammed at.

I noticed it few days ago and I searched for a previous thread that we discussed about Bitget not charging fees anymore but I couldn't find the thread so I wanted to search again later but it skipped my mind. I didn't want to create a new thread otherwise I could have created this thread before you. However, just as we discussed previously in the thread am talking about, we already knew that it won't be long enough before Bitget will bring back the charges and we were right after all. Though the charges now are not as high as the first time. To me, i don't have any problems with that since I haven't encountered any serious challenges since I started using Bitget for my p2p transactions.
It is not a fixed amount, it differs according to how large or small the amount you want to trade is. I don't know think it works with percentage either.

The regulatory requirement is becoming high. For Bitget to meet the complexity agreement, they need more money to cover it. Bitget wont be the first CEX to collect P2P fees, and they won't be the last. Sorry, I had to cut out my name for privacy reasons.
For those of us practising privacy, we dont apologise. So I dont expect you to.

Surprising to see these charges being implemented by Bitget exchange itself. From what I can gather from the information they shared, the reason for this charge is to earn revenue while managing liquidity and marketplace activity. The charge is about 0.1% for any order made (buy or sell).
Unfortunate, there won't be any more free P2P trades since the management of Bitget thinks, this is a way to maintain liquidity and balance supply and demand in trading activity for the Nigerian market.
Let's see whether they will stick with such procedures for long, with a good number of Nigerians making use of their P2P trade upon their charges or are we to find Bybit to follow suit with the same charges

Perhaps the charges was initially removed by the Bitget team just to receive more audience and relevance to their network then maybe afterwards they will return back to their normal state after getting the attention they seek. However, this is actually not a good decision from the Bitget team because their are other platforms like bybit and others that are doing better, and if this persist they might end up losing most of their customers to other platforms which I know it's not cool for them as people in business.
Moreover, In business everything is not all about gain all the time, sometimes it's better creating a cordial relationship with your customers, make them feel better and safe and by this you have won their loyalty for life. Another thing is that, if their is other exchange that do better and cheaper than while stressing further, the only thing is just to switch to the next and that problem is settled.

I know p2p exchanges that buyers will not be disturbing me to deduct some money from the money they want to send me, why would I use Bybit p2p. People have different preferences to using a product. I particularly use Bitget because it has a better easy-to-use interface and there are less scammers there than Bybit. Bybit gives me some shitload of stress dealing with the scammers over there and that is the same reason I switched to Bitget and I believe they are stricter with moderating scammers than Bybit. I've weighed on the fees and stress and settled to pay the negligible fees rather than keep up with the drama on Bybit. People choose the lesser of two evils in their different ways and although some of their clients might withdraw to exchanges that do not collect fees and I see these fees as greed on their part, but some clients who prefer less drama in their transactions would still stay behind.

I used Bitget for P2P and I noticed same thing, so I’m verifying that yes it is true that Bitget has started taking fees for their P2P service. I use Bybit and Bybit till date those not take fee, and again MEXC and BitMart also those not take fees for their P2P service so if you are not comfortable with Bitget anymore because of this fees they are now taking in their P2P service just move to this other exchanges I mentioned that offer free P2P service. I’m sure they will lose some customers because of this even though it’s small many people will not continue using an exchange that take fees for their P2P service meanwhile others are offering same service without collecting any fee.

The fee is less than a dollar, why bother so much about it if the p2p exchange is good for you. I’ve used Bybit in the past, and the amount of scammers in the platform made me leave the app. IMO, to pay 0.15 usdt fees no be big deal.

What do you think about their decisions to bring back P2P fees? Isn't it a bad marketing PR especially when other exchanges don't charge a dime for their P2P services, at least for the last time I used Bybit, they don't, dunno about now.
To cover cost of operation, exchanges are not operated under charity, operational costs for security and maintenance, managing liquidity and customer supports, all of these require funds for smoot running of the exchange. Sometimes, exchanges which do not charge fees for P2P often have either way to raise funds. Exchange like Gate.io has a terrible fee when withdrawing, some charge nothing for certain withdrawals but their service is horrible. 0.15 usd is a fair amount to pay as fee, it is not very much to cover, you barely will know something was deducted, are you aware that most exchanges cut out fees when you sell internally, BTC/USDT, so on and forth.

We know the country where we all reside and we shouldn't be ignorant of the way regulations around business are being done in extreme here in Nigeria. I believe this regulation trigger this fees. Most exchanges apply hidden fees just to avoid causing chaos. How to verify this is to compare exchange rate for the same amount between different exchanges we will see clear difference.
I think other than focusing on fees it is best to compare price between different exchanges and find the one that best satisfies your own price expectations.

This time is better than the previous, before the fees were a lot higher, a transaction of such could be going to a dollar or more of I remember correctly. While bybit is full of scammers, sometimes after considering fees one will have to stick with bybit and be watchful of scammers is not like bitget is entirely safe, one has to be watchful also and there was a time where they annoyed me more, when buyers could manipulate prices and if you are not watchful you will be paid a lot lower than the actual price. What do you think about their decisions to bring back P2P fees? Isn't it a bad marketing PR especially when other exchanges don't charge a dime for their P2P services, at least for the last time I used Bybit, they don't, dunno about now.

This is just excuses, others are still making profits without this. There are other ways they are earning, it's somehow like greed, if others can be doing this even for more than a year now without no issues then they could. Although the difference is still better than their extortive fees before this.

The fee is less than a dollar, why bother so much about it if the p2p exchange is good for you. I’ve used Bybit in the past, and the amount of scammers in the platform made me leave the app. IMO, to pay 0.15 usdt fees no be big deal.
At the end of the day person go look the pros and cons before e go make him decision. No be like say na only this two p2p platforms dey for Nigeria. Many other options dey available, and if the exchange see say the number of people way dey use them don reduce them fit revise this their new policy. No

Like you, I used to use Bitget for P2P but nowadays, with all these exchanges, it seems that accepting P2P services is becoming a challenge for crypto traders or investors in our country because it is constantly seen that different exchanges are creating various complications to provide their services, such as currently Bitget is starting to collect fees again. Also, one exchange we always liked is ByBit but it is full of scammers. You mentioned that MEXC and BitMart do not charge any fees for their P2P services, just like there is another exchange that is also providing similar facilities to users, those exchanges are gate.com, so those who are unwilling to pay a small fee should try using these exchanges especially for P2P.

What do you think about their decisions to bring back P2P fees? Isn't it a bad marketing PR especially when other exchanges don't charge a dime for their P2P services, at least for the last time I used Bybit, they don't, dunno about now.
The competition in the p2p service within exchanges will make customers to stop using their service due to the fee, and I think they have seen decline in number of customers using their p2p service which was why they announce the removal of the fee back then, but they may think that people will not noticed the fee anymore since it is minimal according your experience; 0.15USDT for approximately $150 is actually negligible, and I am very sure so many traders never noticed the fee anymore since it is small. I don’t usually use their p2p service, and this fee they added unannounced is discouraging because they don’t seems to keep to their work since they have removed the fee and have brought it back unannounced.

It is good to use cryptocurrency exchange that allows client to buy and sell with zero charges like bybit, making proper research is very important before signing up with an exchange app. I have not also used bitget before, what I have not understand is whether the transaction fees charged is for clients buying or selling. Knowing this will help. If they where not charging before and suddenly they started charging for transaction fees. There must be a reason for that.
