With regards to the FIFA World Cup this year, the FBI has issued a warning as there are cyber threat actors spoofing the official website of FIFA. Below are some of the websites that have been identified already and there could be more.

So everyone is putting into notice to exercise caution. It's going to be a huge sporting events and there could be fans looking at the internet to watch it for free or even buy tickets. But if you by chance click on this spoof sites, there are a lot that could happen to your desktop or laptop at they can inject malwares and steal your banking records and your crypto.

You don't want to be the next victim here so just be very careful and stay vigilant guys.

I have watch too much FBI agent movies that this is fabricated by FBI  Cheesy

Nevertheless, the world cup is coming, this kind of scam is normal during international tournaments, not only world cup. Try and avoid illegal links to stream matches and any unofficial promotions related to world cup.

Hackers and scammers are desperate out there.

If you're an avid football fan or follower, you know exactly the official domain of FIFA, or you should bookmark the official domain, as a wrong typo could lead you to a phishing site.
Since the FBI already has the lists, they should report these Phishing sites, and FIFA should launch a continuous information campaign about their existence.
Scammers are active on big events like this, so organizers should be proactive.

What a paradox, you have the choice to be scammed by the official FIFA with regard to ticket prices and the conditions to enter the US at all to watch the matches live - or to be scammed by some hacker by convincing you to buy a cheap ticket through a phishing site. In both cases you lose.

If you want to watch the matches, buy a good IPTV or maybe check if some of your national TV programs broadcast the matches - for example, I have all the matches on national terrestrial TV.

I know that the list of websites impersonating FIFA's official website and already identified will continue to grow. Scammers won’t stop with just a few phishing sites.. Setting up a fake site is cheap and easy.. They can simply replicate their schemes across hundreds of domains at the same time and promote them widely.

Through these websites, scammers may trick victims into downloading malware by offering free access to watch matches or they may directly steal money through fraudulent ticket sales and other scams. That is why users should always rely on official websites only.

It is also a good idea to use an ad blocker and browser security extensions like AegisWeb3, Pocket Universe, and similar tools that can help detect and block malicious ads and phishing sites.
