I don't think anyone should expect that cause scam is something that's existed before the introduction of Bitcoin, scammers just had to adopt it to their schemes since it involves money, although the authorities try their best to reduce it but it’s something that can't be eradicated permanently since some people would be ignorant to their new schemes.

OP, you are right that Bitcoin is not new, but the truth will still remain the same way that scammers would still exist because they get money from their scams, and they get it from newbies, greedy and careless people who do not verify before they engage. Scams work or is still in existence because people fail to learn from experience of others to always do things appropriately, they always want to do things quickly without a proper verification on what they are about going into, some fail to even talk to people about what they are about doing so they could give them a proper advise and after they fall into scam and get their assets and funds stolen. Every time they join the crowd without doing their basic research, just because they see big influencers and celebrities promote a project without them knowing what they are promoting, and after everything, the community suffers for their carelessness.

I would agree more to make greed as one of the strong reasons than about the lack of information because for now information about bitcoin is very easy especially with the fast movement of the internet as long as we intend to look further in learning bitcoin then it can be very easy but when greed occurs it becomes another matter.

And that's why some techniques of these scammers might look new but if we're going to analyze each of them, if you're a greedy person you'll be a victim of theirs.
Lack of awareness of our emotion also drives us to fall for these scams when we're kind to these scammers thinking that they're not going to attack us and have no bad intention when we talk to them.
