I have not managed to access my Bitcoin since years and I desperately need them. There is close to zero chance to get this back running on a modern system.
I had an external HDD to download the complete Blockchain (Yes, no prunning with Armory). It died today.

Never ever use amory, if you dont want to lose your coins.

Okay.. what died? The HDD or what? Hard drives can fail /wear out at any time or become corrupted, so what’s your excuse?

Besides, didn’t  you backup the seed? Or any other backup they provide ?

I don’t use it but I’m sure every reputable wallet has a backup.. If the software fails, you can easily recover it on a different compatible software wallet , access and make use of your funds again with zero stress .

You didn't have to download the blockchain, if your only purpose was to access your funds. Instead, you could simply export your private key(s) and import them into a SPV wallet like electrum.

There is no seed phrase in Armory.
Armory gives you a root key which can be imported into itself. Armory also allows you to export your private keys.

Oops I thought they did..

At least the prv keys are still a form of backup that he can easily import incase of situation like this .

I’m not sure he isn’t aware of priv keys  if he runs Amory. But this thread  says otherwise.. which means he’s probably betting it all on his HDD, which could give up at anytime  .

OP, have you tried extracting the encrypted private key using https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecover/blob/master/extract-scripts/extract-armory-privkey.py? It requires Armory installed, but you don't have to run Armory because the script simply import Armory python library.

You don't have worry about it, when most people won't even consider using wallet that require you to run full node these days. The rest should be capable to do their own research.

When you mentioned this part, are you taking the blame to Armory?

Anyways, have you tried the export method that's previously recommended by various members in your previous replies and topics?
That method doesn't require the complete blockchain and only an offline instance of Armory, if you can't get 0.96.5 to work, try the latest Release Candidate: 0.97 RC, then proceed to export.
Find your previous replies to see the "Export to Electrum" instructions.
